I think it’s a cultural thing bec I see it a lot in kdramas where the children are blamed for their parent’s crimes even if they were victims too.

& then when she said she’d rather have him thinking she did a sloppy job bec she didn’t try than have him thinking that she gave it her all and that was still the best she could do 💔
