Haha same here. It's just interesting and fun enough that I can ignore those flaws but I know it won't come close to my top dramas 😌 It's still a perfectly enjoy time-waster 🍿❤️

Yeah, I know why he didn't give her the HPS right from the start. I had no problem with that.
The emotionality just didn't strike me. It was all too fast. I'm used to slow scenes that completely squeeze out every ounce of emotion for a long period of time. This didn't do it for me. It was still cute and loving though. But just not up to the mark for me.
SPOILERSSPOILERSSPOILERSI’m not putting spoiler tag because I hope I’m not the only one kind of feeling underwhelmed…
HARD AGREE!! The execution was quite poor. He will die the future as we know but I hope he dies properly and it's satisfying to the point that it brings me to tears aha.
"Everything is done to create more of a relationship dynamic between the leads (I’m looking at BXS too) but in a lazy way that just looks artificial to me" This sentence you said is the main reason I won't rate his drama a 9 or higher. I love emotionally charged scenes but most of the time while watching this show, I feel super empty. The comedic bits are good, a few romantic moments are done right but the emotional depth is brought out very poorly and blandly.
I'm glad someone else feels the same way. It's a pity since the characters are interesting.
Despite the bad make up and wannabe Devil God goals, after today's episode, I feel bad for the Lord of Dark Aura. He was in love with Xuelin like an innocent puppy but she just used him. Also, judging from her words, it was not his fault but rather the Dark Aura's. ISTG these self-righteous taoists and their one-dimensional logic ......
It's not a crime to add in the angst but if it doesn't affect the audience emotionally, what's the point?
By making it like the Romance of Tiger and Rose... Only comedy and romance, would have been more than enough.
