Ztao is very charismatic and natural in this drama. I also love Niu Jun Feng here, truly a second lead material. I'm actually shipping him and Wu Qian in this drama (sorry Tao)
the only fault i find in this drama is having post time skip shown just in 2 eps, very ironic since 10 years have gone by but maybe that's the point, high school was the best time of their lives so it gets the limelight in this drama. im def one of the few who loved the ending. im not the kind of person who roots for a guy just bec he has done the most for the girl. title says with you, geng geng really made it happen.
I'm a newbie myself but here's what I know/understand:
1. Dramas earn per episode so they make it as long as possible to earn more bec it's all about the money, money, money. There's NRTA, an agency that decides how many eps to be cut or added to a drama, tbh I don't know their standards. For dramas that are extremely popular rating-wise the prod company opt to add more eps (hmmm.... Ashes of Love) and for dramas that get low ratings, eps are cut (they did u dirty Rise of Phoenixes).
2. Based from my understanding, Wuxia has a martial arts element. I'm always confused between Xianxia and Wuxia since both can have fantasy elements. Xianxia is more into divine beings, i guess.
7. Using green screens is cheaper. You just need a studio and you can film two or more scenes at the same time. This is where dubbing takes importance. Because at least two scenes are taken at the same time, the studio is too noisy for the actors to do their dialogues.
I'm currently watching Like a Flowing River because it has Wang Kai and produced by Daylight Entertainment. I'm a fan of most of their works like NiF series, Battle of Changsha, and Ode to Joy.
Is Nirvana in Fire 2 better than the first one? I've been trying to finish NiF for three years now. I can't seem…
If you're asking about the scheming, NiF 1 is way better than s2 since the protagonist spent 13 years planning for his schemes. The charm of s2 is we can see the protagonist's character develop after certain tragedies, we can see how his role in the family changes. AND IT HAS ONE OF MY FAVORITE OTPs OF ALL TIME.
My favorite young talents are Minami Hamabe and Kiyohara Kaya !!! I used to see Minami Hamabe in supporting roles (ex. The Hours of my Life) but I finally noticed her in Let Me Eat Your Pancreas and then Kakegurui. Her acting range is something to look forward to !!! I didn't see much of her in My Little Monster so I hope her next projects would maximize her potentials. As for Kiyohara Kaya, she's really intense in Switched and Chihayafuru Musubi. I can't wait to binge-watch Toumei na Yurikago after the subs are completed.
Another favorite of mine is Mio Yuki. Sadly, she's not making headlines yet but she definitely impressed me in Erased and Chihayafuru Musubi. Her role as Sumire was a comic relief in the film. Can't wait to see her breakthrough project!!!!
Thanks for the article btw, I'm going to check out some of the actresses I missed out who are on this list.
I did not expect this drama to be romantic and cringy bec I've read the plot before checking it out. My problem was the execution and how the characters were written. It's not my problem if you do not see this drama the way I do and it's DEFINITELY NOTHING have to do with taste. Though I have to point out that if you're trying to brag your superiority of taste in dramas, don't put The Last Empress on a pedestal. You're claiming that I liked unrealistic dramas when that drama I just mentioned is probably one of the most unrealistic dramas that ever existed.
