I've watched the Drama Talk with the actors prior to the pilot episode & Yohan explained that his character was someone going through puberty. Chaheon's attitude in Ep5 may come off as inconsistent to some since he's been amiable & gentle so far, but I think he was exactly how I imagined someone who doesn't know how to handle his feelings to be. The jealousy overwhelmed him esp after that humiliating declaration of Solyi's feelings. This Chaheon may not have captured Jiang Chen's complexity, but he became someone relatable to people his age?
I like the buildup of that scene where he asked her not to go. The pacing wasn't really my style in the earlier eps, but they did a great job in Ep6. Before that scene, he was trying to talk to her & send her messages. The reconciliation was fast, but understandable since Solyi is a simple minded girl in this adaptation & her world only revolves around Chaheon LMAO
Currently on Ep8, can anyone tell me which ep the drama starts to get interesting? It felt flat so far, but I really like the actors so I'm still watching & hoping it gets better. My problem is they showed Xiaojian & Xiaoxiao's connection right from the start, but I don't feel convinced at all despite the occasional flashbacks from their childhood. I like Yi Dongdong more.
The comments section is filled with disappointed viewers who liked the original cdrama. Not invalidating you guys, but it's repetitive tbh & I feel bad it's making people avoid this drama. In short, if you're expecting this adaptation to be on par with the original, don't watch it. If you're just finding ways to spend your free 20 mins away, this drama may brighten your day. It's a really a simple adaptation, but you can still find wonderful discoveries from the little this drama could give. I'm happy I met these newbie actors & will be looking forward to seeing them in a better project.
I loved Shawn Dou in Princess Agents, his character had a lot of presence, but for some reason I don't find his…
Agree to this! I was only convinced that they were in love after they were separated. Prior to that, Derang seems so focused on his goals for the empire that I thought he doesn't love her as much. Mingyi, on the other hand, did both.
I watched it for Shawn Dou but after 10 eps, I still find his character bland?? So I really ship the FL with the to-be emperor this time. Their scenes had more impact personally. I'm sad that it's hinted he'll d word very soon (stop coughing for christ's sake we get it). I think his character intrigued me the most along with Hunian & Taiping. He'll prolly realize very soon that he's against his bestfriend for her affections.
Sorry, I just want to correct something regarding your sentence "jinpyeong had the stock profits from grandma's…
Thanks for the clarification. I thought he also used grandma's money when the bank employee asked the grandma if she invested her money to stocks. And intuitively, I thought it was too much of a stretch for two million won to grow that big, it was impossible that he didn't use a part of his money for his own expenses when he didn't even ask the grandma for money.
if my memory serves it right, it was dalmi who requested a sandbox from her father which eventually became the inspiration of the present sandbox. how ironic that out of the four leads, dalmi was the one without a sandbox. jinpyeong had the stock profits from grandma's money, dosan was supported financially by his parents, injae had her stepfather's money & connections. dalmi ofc had her grandma, but she knows that if she depended on her, her livelihood is over. instead of relying on someone, she grew up being relied upon (exhibit a: her job at the cafe). if that isnt peak ceo behavior idk what is. i really love suzy's character this time.
How many hearts wouldve been saved if the writers let the second lead end up with the girl? I'm rooting for CEO On & it's the first time I'm rooting for sml. UGH. He's too good. Gimme a guy like that & I'll never let him go.
