They got involved again because the last time one of them (yuan or Qian) called on the cops and that ruined everything he had to run off to abroad and for the hui guy everything changed therefore to get revenge he did all this but basically the le guy (the one that ran off) saved both of them

Tho it's censored the story goes smoothly with the novel following the relationship of the two male leads (wei wuxian and lanwangji) it's almost a bl but without any kiss scenes and 18+ scenes, this series is a masterpiece in itself tho being censored you can still see and feel the love and emotions and the chemistry, highly recommended!!
