I feel like they already did fuck it up. 6 episodes in and its still about Heesu's unrequited love. I genuinely…
Again I do enjoy the drama, I'm watching it for Heesu and Seungwon as mentioned above and so far its good but could've done better()since some of us have been waiting for a pretty long time).
My 2 complaints are the straight couple chemistry overshadowing the gay couple and the pacing(which as mentioned could turn out great but tough with only 4 eps left)Mind u people who haven't even read the Manhwa can understand that there are certain flaws within this. Again there is no problem with having straight people, its been done before nothing new. The straight couple is cute and its ok that they are there, but I addressed issues related to the pacing too not only them.
"Now where did I say the het couple was integral?" Well... ur comment made it seem like it, and ur lack of understanding that the het chemistry is shown all this time. But ig i might have misunderstood. My apologies for it.

What I meant was that there's too much of straight chemistry in a BL drama. It seems like u can't seem to sense it. Besides it looks like its "Heesu and chanyoung" not heesu in class 2. Last thing I want is a straight couple being emotional vultures in a drama about gays. I genuinely can't understand why chanyoung flirting with jiyu and doing couple stuff should be there when they were technically support characters. Its not the first KBL with a straight couple but such an importance on them? Have u never though of it? and yes maybe a min or 2 would be better since ORIGINALLY they weren't a couple and no one complained about the manhwa?
As to ur 2nd point, yes it is stagnant. In ep 6 he's still obsessed with chanyoung. There's only 4 more episodes to go. The pacing is off. According to ur analysis it seems like Heesu will get over chan in 1 episode, and feelings will develop in 2 episodes and then they will be in a proper relationship in the last episode. This is gonna rush everything. And what makes u think theres no story once he likes seungwon? We get to see how they are in love which is what BL is for?
Well I didn't realize that me watching the drama was that important to u but lemme elaborate. I watch it for heesu and seugn won. The characters are written well however the pacing is messed up. I only drop dramas that are absolutely garbage and maybe the last 4 eps can be great. Telling a person to drop it for criticizing a drama is such an "odd thing to say".
I am pretty curious tho as to why u don't see the flaws in the screenwriting? Why are u defending the straight couple that provides almost nothing to the drama yet being included in everything? The manhwa did a FANTASTIC job without the straight couple? so what makes u think they are integral?
it’s very easy to tell that this comment section is a bunch of fujoshis who don’t watch anything else 💀…
1.Comapring BL to straight dramas is illogical. From the runtime, to the production, to plot , everything is fundamentally different.
2.Straight couples have existed in KBL, no one had a problem with any of them except for this. Ever thought why? Cuz people can see that they have been given equal importance when they should be MINOR characters.
3.I can name many BL's which have great plotline, actors and production which managed to convey an AMAZING story in 15 mins. Not an excuse.
4. BL fans call out bad acting, and silly plotlines too? Haven't u read some MDL BL pages before. Wanting quality isn't bad.
5. Valid constructive criticism is essential to ensure these mistakes don't happen again especially when fans have been waiting for 3+ yrs for this.
I'm genuinely curious as to why ur defending the flaws in a drama rather than calling them out? Many people here still like Heesu in class 2 and very much do support it, they just don't like how a non existent couple became so important for no reason at all especially in a BL.
and stop insulting people just cuz they don't agree with u.
MORE THAN HALF of the series has finished and we got NO gay couple chemistry and then we have a non existent straight couple bagging all the screentime. The STRAIGHTS shouldn't be co -leads they should be MINOR characters. They are there as supports not to take over the drama.
Why do we as BL fans always have to settle for the BARE MINIMUM? No reason we should settle for any less. Its not like there weren't straight couples before in KBL, they just weren't given prominence unlike heesu in class 2 which is what I DISLIKE about heesu in class 2.
I read the manhwa and don't have any problem with the "new" straight couple. I don't care about what's happening…
That's exactly why most have a problem with the straight couple. Straight couples in KBL aren't new, but in this case has hindered the plot. Blame should be on the directors and screenwriters.
Loving this show a lot. Seung-won is so lovable and cares so much for Hee-su without being a pushover. I also…
I feel like they already did fuck it up. 6 episodes in and its still about Heesu's unrequited love. I genuinely think they could've done better by reducing the straigh couple's screentime(not totally removing them) and focusing more on heesu and Seung won's development rather than keeping it stagnant for more than half the series.
I did not read the webtoon nor plan to...with that said:As an avid BL fan, hence the name, unlike most of you,…
" BL fans get pretty lucky with not having to deal with hetero couples too much"
This shouldn't be the standard tho? Why settle for less? Do things get better when we settle for less? Should we be ok with BL not being mainly about BL? We shouldn't feel like its luck rather its a "GIVEN".
Its a BL, and holding it to a particular standard, and valid criticism of it ensures that Directors and screenwriters don't do stupid things like this.
U don't have to remove the straight couple, but they could've reduced the screentime for them. At this point I feel like the straight couple are costars which wasn't how the adaptation nor a BL should go about.
Mind u 6 episodes in and we are still in the "Hesu in love with Chanyoung" phase. The screentime for the straight couple could've been reduced and used for heesu
I hate how people are justifying the straight couple in this comment section. If a straight couple in a K-drama…
Some people talking about "NORMALIZATION" like bruh u don't normalize homosexuality by introducing a straight couple and focusing on "their" lovestory. U do it by having straight people who are supportive of their gay friends through actions or words. Look at thai BL and see how straight people help their gay friends, wave the LGBTQ flag, and don't care if they are feminine or the other stereotypes and fight for their gay buddies who gets insulted! This is what NORMALIZATION should be about! And not everyone is gay in Heesu! The show can be perfectly balanced with a 2nd lead gay couple. So many KBL's have done that already.
"... to emphasize that both gay and straight relationships exist naturally alongside each other"It's possible…
U don't show normalization of gay couples by introducing a straight couple and focusing on their lovestory. U do it by showing straight people who support gay people thru actions, words etc. So far it hasn't been justified at all. Now that person could have a gf but it doesn't have to be about their "straight lovestory" which has nothing to do with normalization og gay people?
"Managing multiple couples needs more screentime" Yet has been done before in KBLs and nothing new and done magnificently at it too. As for disrupting? nah that's a skill issue then. If they can handle a straight couple's lovestory they could've handled a gay couple's too.I just see excuses to be fair.
The first ep was pretty good from the acting to the production, even though the trailer was bland. However its kinda disappointing how the 2nd gay couple was switched with a "alleged" straight couple.
Some people here "justifying" switching the 2nd couple should understand that changing the 2nd couple to straight isn't gonna make straight people watch it since the ML is gay. That's stupid logic. Neither is the justification that there's "enough" gay characters so why add more. Which is why they should've just used a 2nd gay couple. But so far so good! Hoping for the best!
from a monetary point of view it makes sense that they added a straight couple to the mix to make it more "palatable"…
Here's where ur logic went wrong. Straight people aren't gonna watch a BL cuz the main character is gay, so technically straight viewership doesn't matter even if the 2nd couple was gay but they still removed it which is disappointing. Why would someone try to please people who anyways won't watch BL's by turning a 2nd couple straight?
Seemed like su hyeon was so kind to Daon before. Ig the 7 yrs really turned him to an pure asshole. But that's his fault. He naturally has that pent up anger and it prolly got worse.
