My take was that most get lured by the idea of "empowerment" but just like with what happened to Blossom…
After pondering on it for a while I agree with u. They could've made it more dramatic(i.e more nanno like) cuz what the delivered was pretty meh for me.
PS: Reminds me of this korean man who spend a 100k dollars on a adult streamer just to kill her cuz of the debt he got into and her rejecting his advances. Tying it to realistic scenrarios rather than a generic one would've been better.
ok... 4th episode was the worst. They could've dived into child exploitation, actual sex work, what OF girls do to get no.1 , obsession, stalking etc etc but everything about this feels lacklustre and lost. And nobody gets punished or anything?
Why are they trying so hard to give nanno a love interest? Sure S1 or 2(as i remember) had a guy falling for nanno but that was it and she never met him again nor did ever show interest in him. It was a dead end.
Besides when did nanno start "explaining" her actions? She merely shows not tells. Half the season finsihed they should seriously fix these issues.
yeah the acting wasn't great at first but i think it got better in ep 2. its not as bas as some would say tbh. The actor for Sae Byeok was originally a model and is great at thai too. Its their first acting role i won't be too hard on them. Besides they seem comfortable with nudity which is extremely rare in kbl.
ok.... So first off its not bad, but it doesn't have the "nanno" effect per say. Its more to do with the storyline/direction rather than becky herself.
Like i mentioned in my previous comment, nanno isn't a hero let alone an "anti-hero". She isn't a friend to even the good people. I didn't like how she and the girls were planning on how to get revenge on the boys.
Welp 1/3 in I hope at least episode will wow me. Also knew what would happen to mom which takes away the excitement for me.
I remember someone said this version of nanno grows along the way but i highly disagree. It defeats the purpose of nanno being a force of nature/ entity. She was never here to "learn, understand and grow" along the way.
Agree with kisses - as always. But I don't know a lot of bls with existing relationships at all from any country?…
Not necessarily. Let me clarify, i meant when u just show the start only not how they behave as bf and do couple stuff together. For example revenged lov,e the got togther in the 1st half and the rest was about their relationship and how they navigate it. Or even thai ones like Kinn porsche, etc, here are many thai dramas where they settle down as bf's.
Now it doesn't always have to be 50/50 (as its not feasible) at least 70/30. I would've liked if even 1 episode on what happens after they became bf's. As for japan there is one i forgot the name but the one who worships the bf like a God.
First time watching Becky. Her acting is good (ofc its different from kitty but i'm statisfied) however the plot for ep 1 is questionable. Nanno is ALWAYS a "1 girl show". She doesn't talk with the victims like that and "team up" to punish someone. She does it by herself. She even goes far as to "test" the good people as well not just the evil. For now this version of nanno seems a bit mild i miss the craziness of S1 & 2 but I have high hopes.
Besides what's with jom's friends who bullied as well not getting punished? She punishes everyone invloved not just the main villain?
She also goes to break their mind completely so i personally think the story would've been better if she got the father also involved cuz jom is more scared of him than anything in the world. The sister mocking him would have been a good addition as well cuz jom is "inferior" to her. Too bad they didn't elaborate on that.
Nanno is similar to the "Death parade" anime where u bring out a person's worst under extreme stress and game manipulation, in her case by entering people's lives. She lives to strip people's social masks and showcase humanity's hidden hypocrisy. The drama certainy delivered on it but more on the weaker side for now and her favourite prey? Teenagers in school cuz they go thru so many emotions and hormones and are very vulnerable. Just like "IT" from the books except her end goal is karma not fear.
I'll give this an 9/10. The acting was great however the plot needed a lil more work especially on the relationship. I've kinda noticed JBL is more focused on the start of the relationship rahter than what happens later. Chemistry is good but definitely could be better but ig due to time contraints they couldn't fully make it happen.
The kiss tho... they need lessons from taiwan or thailand for this cuz that was a peck not a kiss.
PS :seems like there's nudity in this according to some who have watched the 1st 2 episodes premiered in France. Its also releasing on HBO Max.
