putting this on my watching list because of avenuex. how was it so far?

managed to get into ep 2 but i just can't empathize with the female lead and don't buy the supposed relationship between the fl and ml :(

i read the novel first only because I watched 2 episodes and didn't understand anything.

rewatching. this drama is awful technically, the plot relies a lot on explanation and background knowledge, the acting are also not the best. Yet I was never bored watching this, loving every minute, and still crying over wangxian years later lol

yes you can! you'll just probably miss some fun references but it won't hinder your watching experience.

if i would get a sickle everytime elvis han 's character rode a motorbike I will have two sickles. which is not much (bcs ive only seen 2 of his dramas) but it's weird that it happened twice.

i'm curious to see how the story will go but the overall aesthetic really hinders me with its rawness. and the acting is a bit off. is there a recap somewhere?

i recommend NIF 2 for the plot lol I keep seeing rise of phoenixes put in the same recommendation with Advisor's Alliance. I haven't got very far with that drama but if you can bear with gaziliion characters and political intrigues, I think you'll enjoy it.

Sword and Brocade has experienced actor as male lead, but the plot is horrible, romance focused and nowhere near as good as Rises of Phoenixes.
dream of splendor has amazing cinematography, maybe even more than rises of phoenixes, but the show feels more like all package and no substance
