On What's Wrong with Secretary Kim Oct 7, 2018
Because Park Seo Jun's character was such a jerk in She Was Pretty I was a bit wary that he was doing yet another rich CEO role, but after watching What's Wrong With Secretary Kim, I was pleasantly surprised. Not only is his character kind-hearted, they stayed true to the webtoon which is great. Also, I loved the chemistry! This is probably my favorite feel-good drama of 2018.

I'm so excited about this drama!! I know lots of people are a bit disappointed because it doesn't have much connection with the first drama but I'm just happy to see these two leads together again =)

Wow...I love it when there are articles that explore deep articles or important issues on mydramalist. You did such a great job! I like to think that I am a person who experiences a lot of empathy, especially towards people I love. For the most part it's okay and I think it helps me to connect with others. However, sometimes when I read a really sad book or a really sad drama, I get too invested in the characters and I feel sad and lost for like 1-2 days after watching/reading it. I didn't really think too much about it before but after reading your article I realized that it can be unhealthy. That is why when dramas are labeled as "tragedy" I really think hard before starting the drama because I will probably cry every single episode.
If it takes an emotional toll for me just watching certain dramas, how much more difficult would it be for actors who have to act like these characters and live them out. It is just heartbreaking. I hope everyone will take care of themselves and learn to value their own physical, emotional and mental wellbeing more.

It's almost as if... there weren't already 4 adaptations of this drama. While I understand where these people…
Yeah I get what you're saying, I think that times are definitely different and what people would've accepted in the past, people might not accept today. It's good in a way like I said we want to strive towards more equality between male and females, which means more respect towards each other in relationships. I recently rewatched the Taiwanese Meteor Garden and I was also very shocked by the violent scenes. Because when I first watched Meteor Garden I was in middle school (a long time ago) and I didn't really understand the meaning behind the violent scenes. Sure I knew that violence was bad, but I didn't really understand the extent of it as I would now as an adult. Now as an adult, I see that Dao Ming Si has deep-rooted anger issues, probably due to the fact that he was neglected as a child and didn't receive love from his crazy mom or his dad who was basically absent. So it's technically not his fault that he's messed up, but still recognizing that he has anger issues is important so we don't view this behaviour as normative or it's okay because "he loves her".

It's nice to see so many positive comments about this drama on mydramalist. I've been seeing a lot of awful and bad comments on Chinese websites. A lot of hate is directed towards the character's personalities and their moral values. I honestly think it's not the fault of the drama director because they're simply trying to follow the original manga. As much as it hurts me to say as a fan of Hana Yori Dango, there are many moral issues and flaws in the manga. Domyouji is extremely violent in the manga, he tells some boys to rape Makino and then afterwards almost rapes her himself. Of course he completely changes into a different person because of love but we know that it is less likely to happen in real life and is only possible in manga/dramaland. So I get why some viewers are wary, but I just wanted to give a bit of background as this manga was written in the 90s in Japan. Obviously rape is not okay it's disgusting but I'm glad that now in 2018 more and more people are recognizing the violence and abuse that is portrayed in dramas and more viewers are wanting to see healthy relationships in dramas.

I'm glad someone is talking about this topic! How come they make such awesome second male leads but the second female leads are almost always evil? It's like they want females to go against each other as some people have mentioned in the comments below. The only one I can think of is Ai Sha from Refresh Man. She was very competent, chill and she never harboured bad feelings towards the FL.

Yess!!! I love how there's an article about this. I think my favorites have to be Seventeen and Love Playlist. Seventeen was really bittersweet for me because it reminded me of my first time falling in love with someone in my early 20s. I love how their content is so fresh and new, it's definitely something to check out when you're in a drama slump. I think my favorite OST would be from Yellow, they had so many awesome songs =D

This drama is so interesting! I usually hate politics and I find it boring. However, this drama is so well-written (or perhaps the novel) that I enjoy watching all the parts, the romance, the bromance and even the politics. I really suggest you guys give this a try. I usually give up on Chinese dramas halfway because they have too many episodes and it gets draggy but right now I'm on episode 30 and it's still good =) Last but not least, the female lead's acting is really good. It's nice to see that there are more strong female leads in dramaland nowadays.

Guys I'm sorry to say but I'm dropping this drama. This drama is causing me too much anxiety. It sucks because the chemistry between the female and male leads is awesome but the plot is just...*sighs*

I would love to visit Seoul again. I think it's one of the most vibrant cities with an amazing mix of both the old and the new. Seoul is the place to meet cool people, to go shopping and eat yummy food, and to see aesthetically pleasing cafes =)

The Japanese version will always be the best version because of it's amazing acting and chemistry. It reminded me of the actual manga. On the other hand, the Taiwanese version will have a special place in my heart despite the mediocre acting because it was the very first Taiwanese drama that I ever watched. I think I was 12 at the time when I watched it and I loved it so much I rewatched it a few times.
So I did a bit of research and this drama is written by the same person who wrote DOTS. Interestingly enough, in both dramas I liked the second couple more than the main couple. The main difference is that in DOTS I actually felt chemistry between Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo whereas in this drama I felt no chemistry between Gong Yoo and Kim Go Eun. It's a pity they made Kim Go Eun's character so annoying. I don't think her acting skills suck - for those of you who watched Cheese in the Trap we all know she can act. But I just couldn't wrap my head around this immature 19 year old who fell in love with an ahjusshi who's supposed to be 900 something years old but who is equally immature =_= I just couldn't buy into their romance and since 90% of this drama revolves around their romance I had a hard time finishing the drama. I guess some redeeming qualities are the cinematography, the second couple and the beautiful OST.

Thank you CamilaNicole for the wonderful article =) I feel like we should have one for actressess as well, but then again there are so many actressess that are good at crying the list might be really long lol.

The first time I watched this drama I thought it was a masterpiece. Now that I'm rewatching it I see more flaws. The child actors were amazing but Han Ga In's acting was so lacking that I really couldn't finish all 20 episodes.

A lot of you guys on mydramalist said that this was the best Korean drama of 2017 and I was like...really?? But then I finally made time to watch it and it's so amazing!!! Wow! I can't believe I waited so long to watch this drama. It has the best chemistry ever and I'm not just talking about between the couples, the friendship between the girls in this drama was the best.
