enjoying it so far, i appreciate a romcom with a little more bite. i hope they do more with the power dynamics angle.

also i just watched the MMTG interview with the cast and it was a lot of fun. hyesun is hilarious, gong myung is so fun to tease, and kjw is such a charming guy.

zippy and fun so far. i dig the 90s setting and park shin hye is reliably charming in these energetic roles. her cool and confident attitude juxtaposed against the sexist attitudes of the period make her a very easy protagonist to root for. the supporting characters are also quite fun, esp. her boss at the fss lol. also pleased to see lee deok hwa in another tv role. i'm very intrigued about bokhee and her motivations. for next week, i'm looking forward to more go kyung pyo. he's a great comedic actor and imo underrated as a romantic lead, so i'm excited to see what he brings to the table

not me casually trying to check out an upcoming show and seeing the dumpster fire of this comment section... like oof, you guys are writing full on serial killer manifestos on mdl for no reason... idk why people are acting like kim hyeyoon shot their dog or something but please be for real. i promise you, no one gives a shit if you watch it or not... if you're not into it, just close this page and go watch literally anything else. super easy. the world is your goddamn oyster

I like it a lot! I'm not really bothered by the "lack of realism". I guess people were expecting more of that because the writer is a former judge. But the way I see it, it's a legal drama but it's also a bit of wish fulfillment fantasy... like Taxi Driver but instead of injustice being punished with vigilante retribution, it's defeated in court lol! And not to belabor the point but my take on ep 6 is they all know it's a garbage legal argument that will inevitably be contested & overturned (they say this outright), the real plan is to take advantage of the political situation to maneuver in a way that allows them to make a deal behind the scenes. Could it happen in real life? No. But I think it makes enough sense within the show's logic where the main character has these powerful connections and resources at his disposal. Anyway, I'm having fun & I'm pleased to be along for the ride B)

I enjoyed the first episode :) Yoona is charming and quite good at the physical comedy, and Lee Chae-Min was surprisingly convincing. I'm very intrigued by Kang Hanna's character as well - I had initially been disappointed that Kang Hanna had taken another boring 2FL villain role so I'm pleased that there seems to be more to her than I expected.

ep 5. ahhhh such a sweet episode that played out really nicely! the backstory of jiyu & seungwon's friendship opening the episode and tying into the idea of finding unexpected connections in a world that often feels big and lonely.... leading to their three-person "date" - ngl i was also laughing like jiyu @ seungwon - baby is just doing the most while heesu is just totally a clueless (but cute) idiot asdksjkl. but still really lovely - heesu always seeing himself as a supporting character but here's seungwon who is so focused on getting to know him, what he likes. and! heesu's internal thoughts finding out about seungwon's moms, i totally get it wah <3 overall just nice moments of these two dorks slowly getting to see into each others' lives! for jiyu & chanyoung, i agree their individual storylines still feel underbaked but i think it tied in nicely with the theme of having the courage to pursue what you truly love

asdsajldkajs heesu is so teenage boy, it's really endearing. i'm very much enjoying his silly expressive face. the little bit we saw of jiyu & seungwon's friendship is also fun, looking forward to more seungwon rightfully being roasted for being so embarrassing about his crush haha

"disingenous and manipulative" "compromise artistic integrity" - lol you're acting like they tried to straightwash giovanni's room or the color puple... babe, it's just a silly lil bl romcom... the secondary gay couple in the webtoon doesn't even appear until s2 and let's be real, their romance is not exactly groundbreaking literature and doesn't contribute anything to the main story in s1... plus, have you actually watched the released episodes? because i don't think any reasonable person would watch the show and be like 'they're pushing a HETEROSEXUAL AGENDA'. the story is 1000% about heesu and his super gay feelings. again, the straight people have been approx five minutes of the show so far. i feel like they've spent more time than that on that one lesbian side character on the track team & her one-sided crush so i'm genuinely baffled.... anyway, i did respond bc you replied to my comment, but honestly it's fine, you're entitled to your opinion, just go watch something else! best of luck xx
On Heesu in Class 2 Mar 31, 2025
oh man, the people writing essays in the comment section... i'm pretty sure it took you guys longer to type all that than the actual amount of screentime the straight couple has gotten in the show so far, haha. overall, i actually think they've done a good job adapting the story - heesu as a character feels more developed and imo the show does a better job centering his feelings & identity... and well... maybe this is cynical of me to say, but if sprinkling in a little straight romance into the show helped make it more appealing to investors, maybe it was worth it, LOL. this isn't your average Korean BL show on a shoestring budget - the set design for heesu's room, diverse location sets... the actors can actually act... there are even several prominent character actors i've spotted in supporting roles. anyway. all this to say that i think 'heesu in class 2' is quite charming and i hope viewers will give the show a chance on its own merits.

All the people complaining about the age gap, lol... FYI it's actually a key part of their dynamic & the story. From the webtoon: they meet online in this fantasy RPG game when the FL is in ~high school, she admires him because he's super good at the game, and he develops a crush on her - but when they meet in real life it turns out he's just a little kid so she rejects him. ((The drama diverges from the original work here because it looks like they're going for an office comedy)) but it seems like in the drama, in the present day, she's a super competent businesswoman and he's the immature nepo baby that suddenly becomes her boss. Hence her being all 'I'm not into younger guys' in the promo material. So if you're not into the noona romance trope that's one thing, but it's not an issue of miscasting or whatever.

"bitch"??? bro chill out... she's telling a story from when they were KIDS,,,,,, and they weren't actually thugs... probably just high school delinquents... and his character literally says "no, they were nice hyungs" so why are you overreacting like this lmao

I enjoyed the first two episodes! I found it funny and charming despite it being a bit childish. Go Kyung Pyo's delivery in the 'Next Level' scene made me laugh out loud for real. I'm kind of worried about how well the concept will sustain itself but for now I'm on board. It is also shot pretty elegantly for this type of show -- I enjoyed the clever transitions in the first episode. In terms of our leads, I also greatly appreciate Go Kyung Pyo's dedication to comedy (and fuck the haters -- c'mon, he's an absolute unit) and romcom looks very good on my love Kang Hanna, and I even like Joo Jong Hyuk's character (at least so far, haha). The supporting/minor characters also feel organically folded into the universe and the little cameos were quite fun (for me, lol). I do wonder how well it will play with audiences that aren't that familiar with non-kdrama Korean media because I feel like a lot of the jokes and references require some of that prior knowledge to hit, but I personally had a pretty good time.

it's fun and chaotic, i'm enjoying it more than i expected. i guess a lot of people found this to be an unexpected role for jeon jong seo but i knew she would do kill it as a romcom heroine, she was v. charming in her movie with son seokku too. i'm more surprised about moon sang min?? he was a virtual unknown for me but i think he's doing great. like he's super tall + the adorable face + his deep voice - i predict he's going to make a lot of ppl obsessed with him in the future lol

in the mythology of the story, the person that turns you back with a kiss has to be the person that turned you into a dog in the first place... which is why it's supposed to be a test of true love e.g. find someone that loves you even if they know your weird secret. but lol why are you so annoyed in the first place, it's just a silly, fun show... just enjoy the silliness

They were lucky to have cast Im Ji Yeon before she blew up with The Glory. So far, the show's not really standing out to me otherwise... just seems like another entry into the ~edGy DaRK cRiMe genre feat. tortured hero but maybe it'll be able to distinguish itself. I do love Im Ji Yeon and Park Sung-Woong!
