The happenings in history will not change, and this will be re-iterated in the later episodes as well.
Maybe in the previous timeline, Grandpa was saved by something else, or he might have arrived on this decision by his own. Or maybe Jin Do Jun of that time helped him. I'm not sure since I'm in episode 8 only now.
But the family does not know this, and thinks Jin Do Jun's call saved him. :)
This drama was absolutely refreshing at first, then went on to be terrible with unnecessary drama and no proper resolution thrown in, but the fluff in episode 12 makes up for it. I loved watching this, it was breezy for most parts, and enjoyable imo.
