The best gift to end 2021 is to hear Zhang Zhehan's voice. To know there are many people who believe in him. To know that things are heading in the right direction. Happy New Year to everyone! Happy New Year to Zhehan, may 2022 be kind to him and his family!
I personally liked this. Although it was only 24 episodes and 45 mins in duration, the story itself felt longer…
Spoiler #1 At the beginning, I thought the story would carry on with Hanshuo trying forever to get the Dragon Bone. I legit thought we would be spending the entire drama going through the progress of Hanshuo and Qianqian falling in love, but at the same time, realizing they had their own goals and struggling to come to terms with the fact that they won’t be happy together because of plot conveniences. But as mentioned, with the addition of the comedy, we were able to bypass all this mess. Qianqian just popped up and took the Dragon Bone, boiled it, Hanshuo drank it, and that ordeal was done with. I wondered for a second what the rest of the story is going to be about now, now that Hanshuo has achieved his goal. But the drama was filled in with other interesting things so I wasn’t left to wonder long.
#2 For example the very fact that Qianqian stole the Dragon Bone (the treasure of their City) and her mom still tried her best to save her daughter. Or the fact that every time Hanshuo was put on trial to be killed or otherwise, Qianqian begging her mother always resulted in a positive outcome for Hanshuo. This child is seriously too spoiled. To the point I question how the City Owner title is still within Qianqian’s mom’s hand. How the people have not just straight up revolted due to her protecting her own daughter over the interest of the people. I don’t know man, I just thought the mom’s part of the story was interesting as well.
#3 I don’t have much to say about Chuchu lol. I don’t know, she was kind of basic for most of the story. I definitely thought despite her character being the original Heroine, in this new version, as the villain, I didn’t find her worthy of either title, because she was very naive. She got tricked multiple times and made many mistakes. She didn’t exert any quality of a strong headed person. Compared to Qianqian, who although was not taken seriously and showed to be dumb, had better ideas (although her ideas were pretty dumb, like geniunely dumb because who in their right mind tries to frame people so many times even though they are always caught. So think about it. Considering Qianqian genuinely comes up with dumb ideas, and they still somehow work better than Chuchu’s. Just goes to show how much I unfavor Chuchu). Chuchu being tricked by Hanshuo at the end was seen coming miles away. How she thought to make a deal with him perplexes me lol. If she had not planned to backstab him prior to the deal, then that makes it worse, because it looked like she genuinely thought she could trust him. Ig her naivety comes from her character who still fell for Hanshuo but c’mon, she desires power more than love. It’s not even a good excuse anymore.
#4 The ending was somewhat iffy to me. Like I liked it but at the same time, it left me a little sad that Hanshuo and Qianqian in the script disappeared like that. They came back to modern time and retain all their memories from the dream, so it was as if they “found each other” again as Qianqian and Hanshuo, but they aren’t. They are Actor Han and scriptwriter Xiao Qian. Their history is nonexistent in real life and what they had in the dream, imo, doesn’t make up for anything in real life. I hope that in season 2, if it ever comes true, will expand more on them in modern time.
Side comment. In the first episode when Hanshuo started to fake cough after learning the one he saved was the Third Prince Qianqian, not the Second Princess Chuchu, I nearly died laughing because GOD DAMN that was hilarious!
I personally liked this. Although it was only 24 episodes and 45 mins in duration, the story itself felt longer than that. I think it's just because so much was happening as the story progressed that everything felt packed with something to not distract you or drift off (well, to me at least. Idk how others will feel about it.) When I was on ep 5, I felt like I had already watched at least 10 episodes already. It was such an odd feeling to feel like I’ve already watched so much only to check the episode and see I barely started.
The story was fun in its own way. To be able to introduce Xiaoqian as her own character weaving her way around the original plot of her script was interesting to me. Although we already know her original plot, nothing about her actions as Qianqian seemed boring to me. (Note, this does not mean the story wasn’t predictable though. It was, but it was still fun nonetheless.) The addition of comedy was able to boost this drama up a notch, in my opinion. If this was not a comedy, I don’t think I would have liked this as much as I did. (In other words, if they had made a drama according to Xiaoqian’s original depressing plot, I probably wouldn’t have bothered watching lol)
As for the characters. I liked almost all of them. Each character had their own endearing characteristics. Even the two servants Zi Rui and Bai Ji were entertaining. The dynamic between Qianqian and Hanshuo was okay to me. Sometimes I thought their relationship felt a bit forced, but once we got over that part, they were dang cute together.
Last but not least, I wanna comment about Qianqian’s mom. If not for her, I don’t think Qianqian would have been able to do much of the things she did. Because the City Owner was so lenient with Qianqian, she got away with doing a lot of things. Continue to spoiler comment #2.
Overall, I liked this. I gave it a rewatch just for the heck of it lol.
Yes. For both bl and non-bl. Although the bl romance is officially recorded as bromance/brotherhood.
The BL couple is Actor Zhang Zhehan and actor Gong Jun (Zhou Zishu x Wen Kexing respectively). The non-BL is actress Zhou Ye and actor Asher Ma (Guxiang x Cao Weining respectively).
I appreciate dramas like this, NOT because I support these kinds of behaviors, but this kind of dramas make good…
Well, you kind of attacked other people first so. Not sure why you're pulling the victim card. That's kind of odd considering you did write "Come on people let's start teaching our kids what kind of behavior is acceptable...." in your comment. You indirectly accuse people of not being up to standard and expect no one to refute (giving their own opinion on the matter) you? I'll quote you, "In what world exactly do you live?"
doesn't the show, in all it's rendition, show that it ISN'T acceptable behavior? that's why he changes as the…
no, i see it. that's why i say that's the unrealistic part about this. because realistically, no one would encourage this behavior. but we're unrealistically talking here, aren't we.
doesn't the show, in all it's rendition, show that it ISN'T acceptable behavior? that's why he changes as the story progresses. If they were to say his toxic behaviors were acceptable, why change him? the unrealistic part is her falling for him, of course, but that's the thing. it's a show, it's supposed to be dramatic and not make sense. not that unrealistic drama is supposed to be teaching kids anyways but if you really wanna come down to it, it's the parents jobs to be teaching their kids what is right and wrong. what kind of parent does that make you if you already failed to teach them the right and wrong behaviors? if anyone is a parent, i don't see how blaming shows for YOUR job as a parent, is gonna do any good.
Anti's have apparently moved their attacks against Zzh and lxz internationally. They made a yt account and are calling to mass report the article that got published recently clearing zzh's name. Please report the yt video as spam or misleading and show your appreciation for the article. The article is the same one posted just below this comment by @Tidieu.
So ZZH applied his appeal (within the 10 day deadline), I guess we are all waiting… I think three thing could…
The appeal process seems so bs, people working at the front desk don't even know how to answer questions and there aren't even proper documentations. The person representing Zzh who went to do the appeal only got a number in return and even that number is not being connected to relevant people. I doubt there was even an appeal process to begin with and they just say that to have cover because they assume the people who make it on the list have done crimes that make them deserving to be banned (so people won't complain about them) and won't come to make an appeal but unfortunate for them Zzh has not done any crime deserving to be on the list. Now I think they're scrambling to come up with a solution seeing as they haven't even properly responded to LXZ.
I have a feeling this will have to go down with a proper lawsuit. Whether they reinstate him or not, it doesn't matter because his name has already been dragged through the dirt, so he has to take them to court and have his name cleared through the court. At this point CAPA doesn't have the power to clear his name anymore because they have been exposed to be just a business organization, not affiliated with any Government body. Therefore it doesn't matter if CAPA apologizes or not (it would be good if they did, but like yourself, I doubt), once his name is cleared by the law, the people will see CAPA is just a greedy organization. And looking at the facts right now, if Zzh were to take them to court, he has a high chance of winning, because they have to produce proof that he did enter the shrine. As we all know, there are tons of evidence out there already showing that Zzh visited the public viewing area of the shrine and did not go to pray respects or whatnot.
And LXZ won't stop there, for sure. Because half of this is about Zzh and his right to defend himself, and the other half is corruption. Until CAPA properly answers him, they won't be living peacefully. I also doubt they can just do a PR scheme and put the blame on someone. The whole corruption has been shown to be much larger than one person, connecting to other platforms and other people as well. This is a whole web of corruption. Even if they attempt to do PR, I doubt LXZ will allow them to escape.
