where's s3? needs s3!

I honestly didn't have much expectation when I first started watching s1. At the time, I was just simply looking for a non romcom kdrama coz I just finished watching voice thai version, which left me wanting more of the same genre type of series.. partners for justice both seasons blew me away lol... I love the cast, esp the actors playing baek beom and his 2 forensic assistants, do ji han and jang cheol from s2. Who needs a romantic arc from the main leads when bromance is more than enough haha though I'm not going to complain if they do add some romance to it (waiting for jang cheol+suyeon arc XD ). I do wish they bring back Stephanie and most esp Lee Yi Kyung for s3.. As for the FL eun sol, she did well too on both seasons. Not her fault the male leads overshadowed her character on s2, I'll just blame it on the writers lol (maybe they had a change of hearts: s1 "partners" focus on baek bom and eun sol while s2 is baek bom and do ji han). If s3 do take off, I'm really hoping to see a better character development for baek bom and jang cheol... I'm really hoping there'll be an s3. That scene inserted on s2 ending credits looks very promising!

great ML, ok actors. needed better writers

at the time of this review I'm still only at ep04.
I didn't like the character Aran at first. but he's now become my favorite. the actor playing him did an awesome job.
but....
the script....
is really bad.
very poor dialogues. some scenes felt too draggy and just too preachy lol.
the female lead is ok; her acting is good but her dialogues sometimes just doesn't sound very sensical. some of her scenes make her character being top of the game very questionable too.
some scenes just ran a bit longer than what I think is necessary, with a lot of actions and dialogues that the series can do without//

not as good as s1 but still good XD

Overall s2 was still enjoyable XD I'd personally rate it 8.5/10. (I still think dramas of this genre shouldn't include obvious romance between main leads. Subtle attraction/tension is ok I guess if can't be helped, but nothing forced like what they did here on s2. I'm fine with it if it's with the supporting characters, like in partners for justice 2).

Episodes 1-3 was a good continuation of S1. I already know dojin was gonna die based on the spoilers (and now that I finished s2 his death was so much easier to digest, coz they demoted the firefighters to almost nothing but door openers and handcuff cutters lol there wasn't any major fires after dojin died).

My fave character is still Pil :) It was nice to see him be like a real cop this season and not just like an errand boy XD.
I still liked jindo dog but I'm sorry I just had to fast forward all his romantic scenes with FL (would've been better if it's just bromance all the way lol just my opinion).

I disliked that they wasted atleast 3 eps (I think it's up til ep 6 or 7 I can't exactly remember) on showing seol like a grieving widow. Her character on s1 was unlikely to accept dojin's confession (it was apparent that she only had romantic feelings for jin hogae and dojin sensed that too). But s2 just had to force some kind of romantic storyline for the 2 of them even after his death, like they were bfgf (Hell, if the prod team was seriously itching to insert a romantic arc they should've just stuck with the 2 bosses lol polar bear obviously liked the firefighter chief since s1).

Dojin and seol's characters were obviously demoted to supporting level. With that being said, I welcomed the addition of woo sam soon as anna's replacement. And kang doha :)
sam soon's portrayal was oftentimes loud and exaggerated (borderline irritating). But she had lots of cool moments and various expressions more than anna (who was always in a perpetual frown, except maybe when dojin died). And I really liked doha (he's my 2nd fave character next to pil). His interactions with hogae and pil were fun to watch lol.

S2 showcased NFS more than the firefighters (I really liked yun hong more than the fl so I'm not complaining). I just feel a bit saddened that the fire station didn't get as much action as it did during s1 which was a letdown considering the drama's alternative title. But I guess that's understandable, otherwise s2 will seem even messier than it already is. The director/writer already crammed too many autopsies in the 2nd half like they forgot it's not partners for justice XD.

Then there's dex. The way his character was written was too all over the place. Being smart was one thing; but they made him a doctor/forensic expert, bomb expert and a hacker on top of being tae hwa's master manipulator and hired killer. The way hogae defeated this genius on that abandoned building was quite anti-climactic (I hoped for a grander way of his arrest without any touch of romanticism from ml&fl, or maybe a slightly comical approach with hogae/doha/pil lol).

Anyways, the action/thrill/suspense and investigative themes of this series season were decent enough for anyone tired of watching romcoms. Just have to bear the first half coz the latter eps were good.
