Dance from Afar was totally weird and I loved it! Nice job spotlighting some KBS Drama Specials. I agree that they don't get enough attention - there are some real gems out there and there is something for everyone. Although really, most of them probably are on less than 1000 users' lists. I've got 35+ on my watched list and not a single one is over 1000.

Faves of mine: Happy Home, Youth, Yeonu's Summer, Secret, The Whereabouts of Noh Sukja, The Scary One, The Ghost and I...there are actually a lot that really impressed me, especially given the near-zero budget.

Can someone spoil this for me? I can tell by the first ep I'm not gonna like the male lead
What do you want to know exactly?

I just googled his height and then asked google to tell me his height converted into feet and inches lol - it…
Yeah, he's a young'un ;) It wouldn't even have to be a very old profile to be wrong since he's still just a teenager even now.
DreamingKoreanBallad Oct 14, 2017
Yeah, he is taller than 173cm! Maybe you looked at an old profile. His official profile says 181cm, or about 6ft.

I saw him first in Youth and thought he was great in that. Then he showed up in Solomon's Perjury, by which point he'd improved even more and now I'll be on the lookout for him for sure. Planning to watch Juvenile Offender soon, at the very least :)

Hmm...they did make it pretty clear that he had those sorts of feelings for her. I don't think he ever intended to act on them, although he also didn't really hide it from her either. I think the reason why he didn't pursue her at all was partially that she saw him as a father figure, and partially that he tried to reconcile with his wife and connect with her better, as well as be a good dad to his younger kids. (And they did, eventually.)

At some point, Yu En realizes this (dad's feelings), of course, but by the time it really hits him, it's clear to the viewers both that Man Qing isn't into dad as a lover, and that dad has Alzheimer's. So it's handled maybe not in the most straightforward manner, haha. It's hard to explain, but they didn't make it too melodramatic or anything even though this all sounds fairly insane as I write it :)

What else...dad leaves letters and advice for Man Qing, to be later given to his younger daughter, so he can keep being "perfect dad" even when he's sicker and doesn't know what's going on. Aw.

On Man Qing's side, mom Man Yu gets cancer and dies towards the end, causing all sorts of conflict as the other two moms and Man Qing adjust. They do open the restaurant before she dies, though. The guy who stole their money comes back and helps for real this time, and marries Chu Hong mom at the end.

Oh, and they explore more about what happened to Yu En's mom. Yu En blames himself, of course, and dad kind of did to some extent too, but it turns out that stepmom played a part in her death too - she actually kicked the toy that mom slipped on on the stairs, so it was more of a trip hazard than it already was. Ha. So Yu En can forgive himself a little.

Turns out stepmom is kind of evil, btw. She sets up Yu En to make it look like he's the one who keeps smashing the windows at their house and tries to make dad think that Yu En needs psychiatric treatment...in Singapore. Where she also tries to get Man Qing to go, to get her away from dad, even though she really does just view him as a father figure.

Dad gets Alzheimer's! He starts to forget who everyone is and mixes things up. It was done fairly well, in that you realize that they did drop a couple of subtle hints earlier in the show that it's coming. Dad and Yu En reconcile before he totally forgets, and dad and stepmom find a sort of peace and happiness towards the end, even with his dementia.

Man Qing ends up with Yu En, after getting together and breaking up about a million times. She considered him too immature, and he at some point gives up and lets her go, but they get back together towards the end.

Not quite as good as Circle so far, IMO. But still definitely worth watching.

I need an answer: How tolerable is the inaccuracy degree of this? In other words, how believable is that it is…
I didn't watch Hwarang, but I wouldn't expect much "accuracy" from this one. Then again, since they're actually using truly fictional characters (totally made up), then how much does that matter? At least they can't mess up biographical info if it doesn't exist ;) But if you don't like the idea of rom-com in pretty costumes, then this isn't for you (based on the first ep only, of course)
