I highly recommend you watch the movie The Fortress from 2017 while we are on a break. This movie is about the second invasion but this time from the eyes and perspective of the Royal Court. It immediately starts with the King hiding in the fortress waiting for forces that will never come. No other than Lee Byung-Hun stars in this movie. The reason why I'm advising you to watch this movie is, to get the full picture from both sides: the People and the Royal Court. The movie has so many emotional scenes and great dialogue that the 2 hours went by really quickly. If you have time or interest I highly recommend you give it a chance it will not disappoint.
ccurrently I'm watching Hot stove league almost done with episode 2 and my God I love the drama already. I already saw him before in another drama called The Veil wich he was great in. He is such a versatile of an actor. Can't wait to see him back in my Dearest part 2 but for now I'm gonna enjoy watching him in Hot Stove league.
I'm in shock at how many bad K dramas are airing right now. And we will have to wait for maybe 1.5 months until My Dearest is going to air again. I'm in disbelief we can't even watch something else of the same quality.
When FL's reason and sense of responsibility are momentarily overwhelmed by feelings of love and result in a flight…
I think this should speak volumes about how good the acting of the female lead is. To divide people in Korea you need to do a hell of a good acting. But besides this let's not forget at the end of the day this is a drama it is not real. and also impossible to act 100% exactly as it was in history.
Do we know when we are getting previews for 2nd part? I hope they release teasers like they did with the first…
It's probably gonna be in mid-October or late October. I don't know for sure if they already finished filming because the script reading was back in November or December 2022. So they already shooting this drama for a long time.
I think the reason why the main coupels have so much misunderstanding, miscommunication and mistrust for one another is because of the following reasons.
Upbringing:
Cultural and moral value:
Perspective of the world/life
Dealing with the opposite gender
1. Upbringing: Jang Hyun and Gil Chae had both drastically different upbringings. Gil Chae grew up with love and support from family and friends. Jang Hyun is the opposite he lost his father at a very young age maybe also his entire family. At a very young age, he understood the very ugly nature of the human side and adapted to it very quickly. 2. Cultural and moral values: Because Gil Chae grew up in a very high-quality life with culture and customs and a good education. She saw the world from a more idealistic point of view. Jang Hyun saw it rather in a realistic way, he didn't grow up with the Joseon customs of that time. He had to learn to manipulate, scheme, lie and even kill if it was necessary to survive and climb up the ladder. 3. Perspective of the world/life: Gil Chae you can say lived in her own bubble, where everything was rainbow and sunshine. She never really had to worry about her way of living because of her nobility. With that comes some sense of being spoiled and entitlement. Jang Hyun knew perfectly what kind of world/society he was living and dealing with. That's why he is so self-centered, self-entitlement and ruthless. 4. Dealing with the opposite gender: From a young age Gil Chae was always able to attract men so easily. She never could really understand what love is from the opposite gender, because all the men from her village never knew how to handle her. They lacked very masculine traits, so she was able to easily wrap them up around her fingers. Jang Hyun is a very confident and masculine guy, who never knew what love from the opposite gender is because he has not received one or never fell in love. So when he started to pursue her it was like a competition game instead of sincerity because he did not know better. She felt he was playing a game because she couldn't believe that a guy like him existed and he knew how to handle her. She always was used to making men fall in love with her without even trying.
So that's my outlook on why they can't be together up until now. I hope I made some sense and you guys will be able to see my point of view. I look forward to seeing your answers and comments.
I have the following question: How long did Jang Hyun stay with the crown prince? Was it for a couple of years or months and if it's one of the two why is that so long? Also at the end of episode 10, there was a time skip of 2 years. Could both of them end up with a child or is this a far stretch? Let me know love to read your minds.
This drama is without a single doubt the best of 2023 with a milestone. I just can't believe what I have been watching, my emotions went through a lot of rollercoaster. This drama perfectly gives meaning to what building up means. The story itself was on another level, it just breaks my heart to see they still couldn't be together. Misunderstandings, miscommunication, and a little bit of distrust made them apart. I still can't Phantom the drastic change we have witnessed from episode 1. The growth and character development of each character were beautiful to watch. It's so hard to accept that after a month will see the start of the conclusion. I also couldn't believe the last scene I think everyone knows what I mean by that. To finish this one, I'm glad we will have some break just let it sink in and prepare for what's gonna come. One of the best dramas I have come across, definitely In my top 3 already.
I feel the same way!! Last year I started questioning everything including my personal taste. Do I really love…
Exactly that, I also came to realize that I wasted a lot of precious time wanting to give many Kdrama chances. Only to see it becoming a disappointment, there are a lot of bad Korean dramas airing right now. This drama made me set standards from now on and not just watch anything because of hoping it's going to turn out to be something I might like.
Watching this drama right here made me remember this is the reason why I fell in love with Korean Drama in the first place.
After watching episodes 7 and 8 it was kind of clear in my mind. After It's Okay Not Be Okay ended 3 years ago. There was no excitement nor interest in Korean drama until My Dearest started airing. This amazing drama gave me back that feeling of watching a mastepiece again.
So much has happened in these 2 episodes I still can't wrap my head around it, I still have to digest and let it sink in. I'm having mixed emotions and feelings. Happy to witness a first-class drama in so long and yet sad we already are halfway and the end is slowly nearing.
What I loved about these 2 episodes was the fact it's didn't force or rush the love story between the main characters. It all comes naturally and with each scene building it up.
I'm still amazed at how well-paced and balanced this drama is, every scene made sense and added to the episode. The acting is already out of this world it just fits the scenes so well. Hopefully, we'll see our main leads be back together in the up coming episodes before it goes for a break of 1 month.
According to the TV and Movies Tracker app: TV Time: My Dearest Part 2 will resume broadcasting the second part on 13-10-2023.
jung hae-in and Ahn Eun-jin
Byeon Woo-seok and Im Jin-ah aka (nana)
kim jae young and Jin Ki-joo
They will have the visuals and chemistry to top it off. thank me later.
