Amazing story, unforgettable characters, and nonstop action!
I was first drawn in by the opening scene of the red-clad female general from Jinxiu, aiming her peacock feather-tipped arrow towards the formidable Susha general on horseback. Two arrows were fired in quick succession, the first deflected, the next hitting its target. The Susha general, disbelief on his face, falling to the ground. Afterwards, Susha soldiers surrounding and protecting him...This was the start of the most amazing Cdrama I've seen so far. Watching this for the past few weeks as it aired was like being caught in a raging river, going over rapids, boulders, at times descending into small pools of calm water, but only briefly, because those moments of respite would quickly trickle and whirl into new currents that gushed relentlessly towards its final conclusion. What a wild ride, and I loved every minute of it!
The story, plot, characters, set design, music were unforgettable. I couldn't believe how much detail went into each scene, like the costumes, interiors, hairstyles etc. were impressive. Everything was brought to life. I also liked the outdoor / nature scenes, the pacing of the story, and the fight choreography. CZY had his own fighting style - raw and powerful, which is different from say Cheng Lei (in MJTY or LOTFG) who had a more graceful and controlled style (although not sure how much the actor did with these scenes). LQ's fighting forms were beautiful as well, you can tell she has a great foundation in traditional dance. She is truly the epitome of a female general! Really enjoyed the action sequences from them.
I also loved how the relationship developed and deepened between the MC. Their love was rooted in mutual respect and understanding, which was so unbelievable considering how they hated and wanted to kill each other. He definitely fell for her first based on how he described her portrait in such detail! Loved them so much! The other characters were great too - my favorites were FSG's Feng battalion soldiers, Dr. Ling, FSG's father, Murong father, and the dark horse couple, FXY & XJY 💞. The character development & script, really brought everyone to life. There were some characters though who weren't developed as well, like the female doctor, XJS, & Murong Yao, but that didn't take away from my enjoyment of FH.
Fated Hearts will stick with me for a while - I'll probably watch it a few more times 😆 before I can move on to the next one!
Highly recommend!

INCREDIBLE FIGHT SCENES & AMAZING CHEMISTRY BETWEEN ZY & CL!!! GRIPPING STORY WORTH REWATCHING
I love historical wuxia Cdramas and this is one of the best I've seen! 😍 could not wait for the new episodes and so would check here for news and spoilers to ease my impatience. Really enjoyed the entire series, even if there were some dull moments & plot holes.WHAT I LOVED:
-Obviously, all the fight scenes (episode 12 was shockingly good!)
-Chemistry between ML & FL
-Acting of ML & FL (I love CL from MJTY and was amazing here but ZY played her part of female general so well, her story very believable)
-Amazing scenes like confession in Jinyang, the moon scene with the pouch, LiKuang recognizing He Yan as He Rufei after receiving her note, etc.
-Episodes leading up to Jinyang arc, esp. the competitions and friendships gained
-the outfits!
-CL was amazing yet again !!!
WHAT COULD BE BETTER:
-Editing & flow was kinda uneven but I heard they had so many issues, like 40 episode maximum and replacing/deleting scenes for Cheng Lisu character
-Too much time spent on He Yan's shifu's story
-He Rufei's acting (too exaggerated, like comedy)
-Biggest plot hole was how He Yan didn't recognize Cheng Lisu at Yezhou even though they went to school together!
-Music was not memorable & sadly the music could not elevate the story (compare for ex. with the Double)
There's a lot of hate for Chu Zhao but the story needed a villain and he did a good job playing a morally gray bad guy who really messed up and lost everything & everyone at the end. First time I see this actor and heard he'll be in Rebirth with the amazing LYR so hopefully he'll get a better break there with more fan love!
9/10 and definitely worth rewatching for the EPIC moments!

First love, loss & closure: a story with emotional poignancy at the start that languished at the end
I really liked this drama until episode 22, when it became boring and slow. For me, the best, most memorable part of SOM is LWM. I don’t think I would be as emotionally invested in the story if another actor played ZX, he really did a phenomenal job with his portrayal of ZX, with a lot of angst, inner turmoil, and suppressed emotion. I would like to see a drama spin-off or read a novel with ZX as protagonist.
ZJM as NXG was good too. I like her acting but the chemistry between her & SWL was not there all the time, and a lot of their romantic scenes were awkward. It might be because these didn’t flow very well with the rest of the story. I was also not convinced with SWL's acting, thought his expressions were too bland/wooden in many scenes after they got together. Although I appreciated a lot of the script & dialogue, the pacing of the story after ep 22 became uneven (too much on the business side, too much attention on NXG’s father’s mistress & comeuppance, etc.), which made the MC’s romantic moments feel unnatural and forced.
Overall, I liked the growth/development arcs of NXG & ZX, family dynamics of the MC, and the friendships with Yin Jie, Chris & Dr. Fang. Also enjoyed seeing the different sceneries in China (Changbai ski resort & desert in Dunhuang), and appreciated seeing how business was conducted, and even learning about solar panels & integrating green design into buildings (although this could have been shortened!). But as a romantic drama? I didn’t really feel it at the end.

Beautiful drama about friendship & redemption with many heartfelt moments
I needed something different after watching Fated Hearts like 3 times lol and picked this up because of Cheng Lei, but wow I loved Fangs of Fortune! Different vibe and atmosphere. Very beautiful, artistic production from the team behind My Journey to You which I also loved.I got so attached to the main characters, especially Zhao Yuan Zhu and Zhuo Yi Chen ♥️. I feel so sad with the incredibly poignant ending but it makes one reflect and appreciate life and all of its joys & messiness 💔.
Another amazing part of FoF is the beautiful OST ♥️. I'll be listening to this for a while.
If there was any kind of weakness, I think the ending could have been paced better. Also the plot / journey was a bit chaotic and I had to stop a few times and think, ok what are they doing and why, but then I just let it go and let the plot flow. Also had some issues with the acting like I didn't think the actor that played the main antagonist, the doctor, was that great. Also a bit disappointed that Wen Xiao was not able to do much at the end. Otherwise, I loved it ♥️.
