omg I thought my brain was slowly bleeding out watching this drama. It was so frustrating and so so slow. It felt like a whole lot of nothing had happened. The main leads lack chemistry and it feels like as you said, they’re just acting out their script. I can’t believe I’ve just watched the most unromantic romantic drama.
omg yes!! I feel the same way. I had to watch the show in 2x the speed because it was so unnecessarily long (I mean literally 90 mins of nothing). It feels like nothing happened and after a while I started to think that they were better off as friends, since it felt like there was no “romantic” tension between them.
It felt like SeokRyu didn’t even like sunghyo in that way. We hardly got to see her actually fall for him or realise she had any feelings for him in a natural way. It felt kinda forced to me. Their love confessions did not have me kicking my feet and squealing in the same way a lot of other dramas have done. I know both of them can act, but I feel like the writing and directing of this show did not allow their potential to shine through. They’ve both done casual skinship so well in their previous respective works: the smile has left your eyes and something in the rain. like we’ve seen what they look like when portraying a more melodramatic couple in love and it was beautiful. But I honestly feel at a loss to say what this show is anymore.
THANK YOU. I honestly thought i was going crazy, i felt like i was the only person who didn’t like this drama in the end. All over the internet everyone is raving about how Lovely Runner is the best drama of this year and I just don’t understand how it can be considered that. The plot became so convuluted it made me lose interest and instead grow increasingly frustrated toward Sol. And the killer plot felt entirely too basic and one dimensional as you said. I’m grateful you’ve put into words what I have been feeling this year. Honestly if Byeon Woo Seok was not the male lead of this drama, since 90% of the shows fans are here for visuals, then people would’ve sh** on this drama so much. I’m not criticising the actors but more so the writing.
I don't really care that you rated this 6 but you rated AoS season 1 a 9 but season 2 a 6.5, that really hurts....
I also couldn’t get behind season 2, I know I might sound crazy but I preferred Jang Uk with Mu Deok instead. It felt like Nak Su in season 2 was too much of a damsel in distress and the plot wasn’t the best in season 2 in my opinion of course.
