why did they lowkey turn Yoo Jeong Seok into a martyr by the end?
It was a relatively enjoyable story overall. the team was really sweet and their friendship was quite cute. I wouldn’t say it’s a groundbreaking bromance show or that the team dynamic is that deep or unique. But nonetheless it was one of the saving graces of the show.Even Jin Seo Kyung and Oh Ji Hyeok were quite cute together without overpowering the story. But I really couldn’t get over her leaving out a vital piece of evidence for the trial, which might have helped in any capacity to save Lee Dae Cheol’s life. Like how was she so blatantly manipulated by Yoo Jeong Seok to overlook stuff? I understand she had a close relationship with him in a platonic way, but I feel like we barely saw that, so I didn’t feel conflicted when his true nature was revealed. I couldn’t get over how sympathetic she was to him after finding out the truth. An innocent man died because Jeong Seok wanted revenge and got too greedy. He’s not a good person. Like how can she still be nice to him and listen to what he says after everything. Good people are dead because of him.
My problem with the show is that so many people deserved a fate worse than what they got. Oh Jeong Tae is the type of man to build connections in prison and thrive, whilst detective Nam would’ve actually broken down but got killed instead. The people I feel most sorry for are Lee Dae Cheol and his daughter. Lee Dae Cheol knowingly walked to his death, despite being innocent. His life is over and his name being cleared after everything just made me frustrated.
Yoon Sang Mi and Moon Sang Beom got a way somewhat Scot free, despite their complacency and negligence. I just can’t feel sorry for some of these characters despite how hard the show tries to make me, since they were so greedy and self interested they let Lee Dae Cheol take the blame.
