Fun fact: Leyan's character is based on the historical Princess Xin Cheng (新城公主) and Princess Cheng Yang (城阳公主).

Xin Cheng was the youngest and most beloved daughter of Li Shimin. She was engaged to Wei Zheng's son, Wei Shuyu but the marriage got cancelled after his father's death when people in the palace spread false accusations about his father.

Cheng Yang was another daughter of Li Shimin who married Du Ruhui's son. Conveniently, in the drama, Haodu is the adopted son of Du Ruhui.
Maybe this will give us an idea about where Leyan's story might go with Haodu and Shuyu.

I am seeing comments from chinese fans that they will probably paint Li Shimin in a good light by having Changge's mother commit suicide instead of being killed by Li Shimin and Changge misunderstanding the truth. Because he's the most beloved and successful emperor in chinese history and I don't think censors or the general public would want him to be painted badly....
