Hi! I think this drama is trying to redress the sexualized image of Hao Lan. The myth of her having an affair…
I’d be interested to see how everything unfolds if they’re trying to redress her image. So far, I really like how they handled Yiren, but the most concerning part will be how they’re going to address her ending, considering it’s not exactly in her favour historically.
Is Lao Ai in this drama? Historically, Haolan was attracted to him cuz he had a big penis and they had an affair, amongst other shameful acts lmao. Still can’t believe YZ thought of making such a controversial character as a lead character in a drama, unless they’re going to completely overlook her controversial parts.
Solid start and middle due to plot development but lacking ending as I expected more. Still though, I don’t regret watching this drama. Acting was solid, especially from the talented teen actor Hu Xianxu. Characters were interesting, Ariel Lin embodies her role, so does Liu Ye. I wish their relationship was developed at a faster rate. The 2nd leads were interesting. I love the major mentions about slice of life from different characters’ perspective. While the ending was happy, I was not satisfied by how much they dragged it with unnecessary drama and heartbreak, but alas that’s one annoying trait that cdramas can’t escape from. Still, it was enjoyable. I’d recommend it mainly for the slice of life.
Love it so much so far. I love the OTP. Both leads are quite interesting, although flawed, so I can't wait to see how they will grow and how their romance will unfold. Huang Xuan is as charismatic as ever, and Yang Mi has definitely improved, especially her lines delivery.
The only thing I am bothered by is the side characters. They are BORING as hell. Especially the doctor. I always skip his scenes. The best friend is quite entertaining, though.
