The situation was caused by SHM's business rivals. Also, JL has been supporting that business against his sister's wishes from the start. He deserves the acknowledgement and gratitude. SHM helped them, sure, but it also helped him since the Russian wouldn't have partnered with him without Xu Yan. He can sit at a table quietly and let her honour her investor without sulking.

SHM declaring to anyone who'll listen that he's tried everything to get Xu Yan back, and not one of them has asked how he apologised or if he told her how he supposedly feels. Anytime he wants to approach her, it's through tricks and deception... Throwing money around, manipulating the people around her, inserting himself into her life without invitation... Everything BUT an honest moment with her where he acknowledges his wrongdoing and expresses what he claims to feel.

I can't stop feeling that his problem isn't that he lost the woman he loves, but rather just that he lost and he doesn't like losing. I'm seeing the direction they're going with this and honestly, it's not something I'm enjoying right now. Every scene with SHM makes me more irritated and that's really not what you want with your leading character.

Exactly. She's not even complicated or demanding. We all want him to grovel but Xu Yan isn't even after all that.

The other thing for me is, if he actually loved her, even if he thought she was a ruthless gold digger, he would've left a way back for himself because he would've deluded himself into thinking she might love him too. Instead he went full scorched earth, treated her like dirt, and now I'm supposed to find him monitoring her and blocking her attempts to be free as cute?

That scene in particular! He is turning out to just be a coward and a jerk and she really deserves better.

Do you think SHM even remembers saying that from the moment he knew she was a fraud he could never love someone like her? Does he even understand how much he hurt her with the things he said AFTER the truth came out? I'm not inclined to believe he does cos they've never once shown him reflecting on his own actions, just fondly remembering all the things Xu Yan did for him and his family or thinking about how pretty she is.

When I see people saying they're now rooting for them to end up together I have to ask... WHY?

It's the fact that SHM's talking about getting her back when he has never even considered apologising for what he did. It's comedic how he's acting out n all, but him successfully delaying the divorce really put me off. I would've preferred if, to his shock, they agreed to process it and finalise their divorce. He still has not realised that he lost her because she's still tied to him and he can still call her his wife legally. Perhaps this was always meant to be a quirky romcom, but it didn't have those vibes in the beginning and now it's just pmo cos he acts like a brat who's not being allowed to play with his fave toy, rather than showing proper remorse. I don't think he truly understands the role he played or why what he did was wrong.

I also don't get how time passes cos she said she met JL a month ago but I could've sworn their cooling off period started before that meeting. Maybe I'm the one who's confused there.

But I enjoyed that they finally had probably their first real and honest conversation when he told her about his issues with his dad. I'm sure it had never occured to him to actually confide in her or lean on her emotionally before. Just imagine how powerful they could've been if they weren't both lying to each other from the start!

Same! I smelled a rat as soon as he said she came back with the news *after* they broke up. And Fang Lei definitely faked it thinking he'd let her get closer to him because of Haochen. Maybe she was even the one who convinced her sister to scheme like that.

This was a thrilling ride. I had so much fun watching this and oh, Stella Young, they could never make me hate you. She went out like a boss, on her own terms. Was she thoroughly crazy and bloodthirsty? Yes, but she did it with such class!

I think we all knew San Ho was never going to see the inside of a prison cell, so the ending was exactly what I expected. I do want to see President Seo Mun Ju in another show, pretty please.

With each gift Hao Ming buys, the relationship is starting to feel more and more transactional. It feels a little darker each time and I just know he's going to throw all these things in her face one day.

Xu Yan is so weighed down with guilt, I don't think she even imagines that there could be any ulterior motive at play here, even when he lies right to her face.

Pure comedy from start to finish! I couldn't take anything seriously cos the show itself didn't take anything it did seriously 😂 I laughed through most of the final episode - it was so unserious. I like how they didn't even try to explain the mythology or anything.

My favourite part of the show was all the Joseon characters trying to pronounce modern words all through. Loved that little bit of consistency.

And I must say, Hao Ming has been throwing up so many red flags but I gotta overlook them cos my girl's literally lying her way through this relationship. All the secrets will meet in a room and knock each other out eventually.

This lie is not sustainable and Xu Yan always looks like she's being cornered because of the house of cards she's built. I am on edge for her cos I know her MIL will tear her to pieces when this comes out. Also, she's racking up enemies who will be trying to find ways to bring her down just cos of jealousy.

I get why she lied but it was never going to get her through to the end. It was so heartbreaking watching her get married without her grandma there. I also keep being scared something will happen to her grandma which may actually just break Xu Yan. This drama has me on tenterhooks 😫

She's just spoiled rotten. No matter what she does, their parents make excuses so I doubt she's ever really had to deal with the consequences of her actions before. Life has always just been an adventure for her. It's not her fault, but she's old enough to know better.

I think they already decided they were not going to send her to college regardless so why bother taking the exam at all. Since they picked her sister then why would she waste time and effort on an exam when she could be getting a job and supporting the family.

No cos why would her sister show up to her place of work without an invitation? Isn't she supposed to be the older sister? She doesn't have 2 brain cells to rub together?
