May be because she and her friend doesn't become that close yet! So she doesn't know about her friend's all liking or disliking things.
They are not childhood friends (are they? Did i miss something?!) , just newly-made friends in college (since she is 18 years old that's mean she is in 1st year of college. So it's newly made).

They use same rink but may be they practiced there at different times so they didn't know each other. And this is 1st time they both came to the rink at the same time to practice.

Dont know, may be she is not interested in figure skating and only cares about her own speed skating. And her friend is interested in figure skating so she is a fan of him.

Her friend said she has already passed the special recruitment and made into the short track speed skating team. But FL hasn't joined yet, only apply for it. So all the things is new (or for 1st time) to her but not for her friend.
