After thinking for some times, i get where you are coming from. I'm not trying to say which decision is right and which one is wrong. What I'm trying to say is which decision MOST PEOPLE make hence which one is more realistic and justify the situation. You are right to say to share everything with your beloved ones, that is really a mature decision but that is very RARE, it's very rare for people to share every problem. (It was the reason she gave when she was young) But when she became more mature , she realized that back in that time THAT was not the reason but the reason was her "pride" which made her believe that she could handle this all by her own, she could life without him, she didn't need anyone's help. Humans have pride and pride can lead to some really "stupid" decisions. You have to understand that they were really young and there are so many people like YS who make a wall around them and tend to stay behind that. People live in their own assumptions about the world and that's what Yeon-su did. She assumed that that decision was right for both of them. But by the end of the show they clearly showed that Yeon-su realized about her mistakes/her wrong assumptions and she kept saying that she is afraid of making the same mistakes again.

For her at that time, took ung into her painful life could destroyed ung's life/career. They were just boyfriend and girlfriend (in their early twenties) not even husband and wife. How can she ask him for money or help for HER FAMILY PROBLEM? I really don't get this things. I read a article that the sounds of the fireworks are lesser than a thunderstorm so they didn't bother to arrange them in zoo). Actually i have a question in that. Did they arrange the fireworks display in the zoo or nearby zoo? From the photos of their past activities, it didn't seem like it is specifically "in zoo" but it is somewhere nearby zoo but arranged by them.
And one thing i want to ask "FL worrying about carrier goals after Gaokao, how does that make sense?" why do you think it doesn't make sense? She wanted to go back so she can change her fate with her ex bf and wanted to live a better life and do something better than doing a job in zoo tho.
