Hase Taiga who has been working part-time at the small restaurant "Tanomi" for three years, was once a promising young man as the ace of the university's relay team, but his past was ruined by poor performance. Although he doesn't have any particular dreams at the moment, he is beginning to feel a sense of fulfilment in his work, such as being entrusted by the owner with coming up with new menu items. Meanwhile, Park Rin, from South Korea, a graduate student studying animation is busy working on her assignments. Just when she feels relieved after somehow managing to submit her assignment just before the deadline, she receives a notice to move out of her student dormitory... However, for a foreigner, finding housing in Japan is not an easy task, and she is exhausted both physically and mentally... Then the two have a chance encounter at Tanomi. Rin is moved by the onigiri Taiga serves her, and her hunger and tiredness are gradually satisfied. Taiga is captivated by Rin's smile as she eats them deliciously. And the moment their eyes meet, an irresistible thrill flows between them.

After a devastating failure as a spatial designer in South Korea, Lee Yu Bin retreats to a remote Japanese island to start over. There, he meets Shirahama Karin, a strawberry farmer living with a mysterious illness. Though they come from different countries and lead completely opposite lives, their chance encounter blossoms into a heartfelt cross-border love story that changes them both.
If you enjoyed My Stand-In for the toxic relationship in which a kind person falls for someone who repeatedly manipulates and disappoints then you may like Theory of Love. The first half of the show is about First kinda pursuing his unrequited crush on Khai until things get so bad that he loses hope and gives up, distancing himself from Khai. Then the second half is from Khai’s POV as he realizes his feelings for First and tries to redeem himself. Both stories are about a toxic love interest who redeems himself, both are emotional and tense (though Theory of Love is less serious) and both will make you question your sanity.
In both dramas, the female lead changes her face without controlling it.
Also, FM are both strong even though it's not really important in MGITM compared to TF.
Both FM are helped by her friend and her sister then the ML when he finds out.
The Filter is way better and funnier in my opinion.

Do Do Hee is the successor of the Future Group. She doesn’t trust in anyone and is cynical about love. Do Do Hee gets involved with a demon named Jung Gu Won and makes a contract marriage with him. He can live for eternity by making dangerous, but sweet deals with humans who endure hellish lives. But after looking down upon humans for 200 years, he gets involved with Do Do Hee and somehow loses his power. To prevent his own extinction, he must protect Do Do Hee who has taken all of his power.
Both have similar realistic issues, both have characters struggling to decide between partners.
Both have similar cinematography elements- darker lighting, minimal comedy, struggles with mental health and friend groups.
Both revolve around the love lives of three or more people.

Except for obvious things like office drama, rich CEO and poor girl plot, I want to talk about the energy these two series shares. Between all the shows I’ve seen, I choose to compare these ones. I feel like they are one the heir of the other. Respectively 2018 and 2022 (where there is one more step into the female-male inequality theme), they are my favourite rom-com office drama, the only ones I watched again. The acting is marvellous, the cliches are in their right place, the episodes are actually funny and there is no ‘filling the space’ thing. Also, the FL has a life, a personality and doesn’t seem the usual ‘lady in distress’ kind and the ML are EXACTLY the same person. And if you ask me what to watch next? I’m gonna go with ‘Love Scout’ 2025, third drama that completes the scheme, with a further step into the female-male imbalance (female CEO and male secretary).
