As Good as Season 1 - Love the Cells!!!
To be honest, I wasn't Ba Bi's fan in season 1. Like Yumi, I was 100% team Woong. Like Yumi, my heart was broken by the end of Season 1 and I couldn't imagine Yumi to end with anyone but Woong, that I swore I wouldn't watch Season 2.Then one day I didn't have anything else to watch and I hesitantly clicked to watch episode 1 of season 2. The cells!!! They won me all over again. It reminded me the real reason why I watched Season 1. Yes, of course Yumi and Woong's relationship was fun to watch. The whole season was essentially just a slice of life - but thanks to the cells, they bumped it up to the next level.
So here I am, just finished episode 4 and can't wait for Friday next week for the next 2 episodes.
There's a big change in Yumi's life this season, career wise. So this is not just about Yumi's romantic life. It's showing her character growth - the risk she's willing to take to achieve her dream.
I am now officially in love with Ba Bi (just like Yumi). I know he's not going to be "the groom" but nevertheless, I'm enjoying the ride very much. I always take to heart that it's thanks to Ba Bi that Yumi ends up as a famous writer.

The Immortal Pimp
The drama should’ve been titled “The Immortal Pimp” 😌👌 because that’s the most accurate summary of the entire series. Now, let me start by saying I love Ji Chang Wook—he’s one of my favorite Korean actors. But even his charm couldn’t save this mess of a show. This drama is painfully average at best, and honestly, calling it average feels like I’m being generous. Where do I even begin?
First, the characters. Or should I say, cardboard cutouts masquerading as people. There’s absolutely zero character depth, and development? Forget about it. The leads are so one-dimensional it’s almost impressive. They seem to have two modes: evil or dumb—there’s no in-between. It’s like the writers got bored halfway through and decided, "Let’s make everyone insufferable." The only person I remotely cared about was the prosecutor. The rest? I wouldn’t have blinked if they all fell off a cliff.
Then there’s the storytelling. What storytelling, you ask? Exactly. The plot is an incoherent, jumbled mess. It’s like someone threw a bunch of clichés, random violence, and melodrama into a blender and hit "puree." Speaking of violence, it’s completely senseless and over the top. Instead of adding tension, it just feels like a cheap gimmick to shock the audience.
Oh, and let’s talk about those "fights," because apparently, this drama secretly moonlights as a fantasy. Our male leads here are basically superhuman. Fighting dozens of thugs at once, etting stabbed multiple times in the stomach, slashed in the arm, hit with metal pipes? Child’s play. At one point, I half-expected him to regenerate Wolverine-style or start glowing like Iron Man. I mean, seriously, is this supposed to be gritty crime drama or Super Pimp vs. the World? The sheer absurdity of these scenes makes you wonder if someone in the writer’s room mistakenly thought they were working on a Marvel script.
The one redeeming factor should’ve been the cast, right? I mean, the lineup is stacked. But nope, not even they could salvage this train wreck. It’s like watching a group of world-class chefs trying to make a gourmet meal with expired instant noodles.
Re-watch value? Zero. Not even a second glance. For anyone curious about this show, let me save you some time: skip it. Do yourself a favor and watch The Worst of Evil instead if you didn't yet.
Honestly, the only thing this drama succeeded in was making me reconsider my life choices for sticking with it until the end.

On the plus side, the show's fast pacing tends to paper over the plot holes, but it shortchanges the development of most of the secondary characters. They become “innocent victims” or “evil elites” we’re supposed to mourn or hate simply because of the suffering they endure or inflict on others. Occasionally there are glimpses of greater depth before the show bustles viewers off to the next crime scene, but I would have appreciated fewer set ups and more follow through. The concept is intriguing, but once you unwrap the layers of snazzy time warp packaging you’re left with a pretty ordinary procedural. The present may be able to change the past and vice versa, but the conventions of the crime drama survive unscathed.

A Perfect Pitch with a Flat Note Ending
Kpop Demon Hunter is an entertaining film with a unique concept, vibrant visuals, beautiful cinematography, and a few catchy songs, but unfortunately, it relies too heavily on overused tropes and underdeveloped storytelling. As a result, it feels like it was made to appeal to a narrow audience, rather than exploring the full potential of its creative premise. The film centers around Huntr/X, a K-pop girl group that doubles as demon hunters, and the Saja Boys, a K-pop boy group who are demons. While the setup is promising, the story fails to give the Saja Boys meaningful development. Only Jinu, the group’s leader, is given a real arc, he displayed glimpses of complexity as he struggles between good and evil. However, his journey is cut short. When he finally comes to his senses, he’s killed off within seconds, which undercuts emotional payoff tremendously.
Jinu’s character had strong potential, his desire to be free and his sense of being misunderstood were compelling. That same depth could have been extended to the rest of the Saja Boys. Giving each member a unique reason for being in the group and showing their eventual growth would’ve added real emotional weight and created a stronger connection to the audience. But they were reduced to background noise.
It would have been far more impactful to show The Saja Boys and Huntr/X teaming up, to defeat Gwi-Ma, providing a powerful message of unity and growth. Instead, the film takes a shortcut, and it shows.
The film also leans into a somewhat problematic dynamic: girls fix problems and saves the world, while boys create them and seek destruction. All the main villains are male, and while there are female villains, they’re under the control of Gwi-Ma. That dynamic felt one-sided and oversimplified. This one-dimensional portrayal felt both imbalanced and reductive. There was a real opportunity to subvert expectations and show unity and collaboration between the groups, but instead, the film leaned into division and sacrifice.
The film also leaves a number of questions unanswered: (just a few listed)
1. What happened to Rumi’s aunt?
2. Was the demon world actually sealed successfully?
3. What are the consequences of Rumi being half-demon and half-hunter? (If there are any)
4. Were past bands completely unsuccessful, and is Huntr/X the first to succeed?
5. And if Gwi-Ma is defeated, is he truly gone or could he return?
On the musical side, only three songs stood out as potential singles: “What It Sounds Like,” “Free,” and “Golden.” The rest are decent, but feel more like standard movie soundtrack that’s only enjoyable in the moment, but not something I’d revisit outside the film.
Overall, I did enjoy the movie, but I wasn’t satisfied with the direction it took. The ending, in particular, felt rushed and underdeveloped. This concept would’ve worked much better as a limited series, where the characters and their arcs could be properly explored and given the depth they deserved. As it stands, some moments felt sloppy, inconsistent, and creatively lazy! Especially in the final act. I may be overthinking this movie, but at least it’s a good one time watch.

wasn't really all that
this drama had AMAZING castings totally loved it but the main couple is so boring to me im sawry hanna and dowan / jaejin & hyesun were more interesting. shin wooyeo they didnt even bother to let him have a personality and i get the whole "its bc he's inhumane" thing that's why he doesnt rlly feel anything but damn they couldn't have made him more boring. and how lee dam fell for him it was v much giving stockholm syndrome. lawls but its fine i guess . i skipped a lot of scenes w the main couple n i wish they would've thrown the gumiho story out the window and went w coming of age or something . honorable mention : bae inhyuk my babe u did amazing , doyeon my gf love uWas this review helpful to you?
Season 1 is far more better...
Love Alarm S2Netflix just wanted to do a variety not like any other K drama but they just failed completely....
The worst drama i have seen this year..
I just feel bad for waiting for this drama for all this time..The main reason how this S1 was hit is mainly because of jojo & sun oh chemistry...
In S2 sun oh & jojo scenes are very less...
They are just trying to make sun oh negative...
They just gave importance to the character who doesn't have importance in S1..
Even though only six episodes, lagging in many scenes...
Positives
Ost...
The acting of the actors..
Negatives
A lot of negatives are there....
The chemistry b/w jojo& hye yeong, i just felt like it is forced.(especially in episode 1 )
Didn't gave any role to sun oh. ( even hye yeong had more scene than him in S1)..
Ksh worst character will be jojo..
Still now the korean doesn't know how to take drama's with love triangle plot..
Look into Hollywood series and see how they make...
One of the best love triangle(not the main plot)Drama i have seen is The vampire diaries.
From episode 1, they have given equal importance to both the male leads( Salvatore brothers). So we will be happy with who ever she ends..
Total Disappointment in Love alarm S2.....
Not because of the ending, the ways to come to that ending felt forced...

why ???
I know that watching c drama requires patience as it’s a long haul. I still struggle with this one. why going all the way to Finland to din only Chinese people to interact with ? why is the FL so cringy? She’s a grown woman and yet shies away from any romantic interaction with her obviously smitten boyfriend who irrealistically bears it all with a smile. Hello Hidden Love! Same age and yet more realistic isn’t it ?And then why so much food ? they spend their time in bars and restaurants eating food all the time. he’s supposed to be broke and yet feeds her endlessly … The FL is cute as a button but she’s too cringy for my taste.
Anyway, like a lot of you have replied it’s not for everyone ! It’s nice to see that we respect each other’s opinions here. Enjoy the show!

A recipe with too many ingredients
It’s a story packed with too many ideas, but the poor execution left me disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, there were definitely good elements, and it was entertaining in the beginning, at least until about halfway through. After that, it went downhill fast. It honestly felt like two different writers worked on the script. The first half was brilliant, while the second half was painfully bad. If I didn’t know the production spent 300 million on this project, I’d have thought it was a low-budget drama. The cinematography was average. The wardrobe was average too (some side characters literally wore one costume for the entire show). They would change XQS's hair in one scene and change again on the next without reason. The editing was sloppy. The saving grace of the show was the fight scenes and fight choreography. There are many more points I could bring up, but I’d have to rewatch episodes to fact-check, and I honestly have no interest in doing that, so I’ll leave those out. Here are the main thoughts that stuck with me:
First, I didn’t like how some of XQS’s greatest achievements, despite him being smart and quick-witted, ended up coming down to sheer luck: swallowing a 60-year power pill, being bitten by a mysterious white snake, receiving power from eight heroes, and so on.
Towards the end, I couldn’t understand why Chief Li knowingly drank the poisoned wine, then went back to the palace again fully aware he’d have to face the same poison and might not survive. He’s supposed to be one of the most powerful figures, yet he came across as utterly defeated. On top of that, the Emperor who gave him the poisoned wine acted surprised and even saddened when he learned of Chief Li’s death. It really makes me question the credibility of the writers.
A lot of questionable choices were made. Characters with strong martial arts skills and big entrances were introduced, only to be taken out by trivial things... Crazy Yan, Chief Li, Rong-er, etc. And just before the final fight between XQS and his second brother, why bother with the sand timer on General Wu instead of just killing him off directly?
The show also hinted at a love triangle between Tang Gege (LSF), Tang Fang, and Red Phoenix, then abandoned it, only to patch it up in the final episodes as if it were an afterthought. Honestly, I started losing interest once the story shifted direction and introduced a new villain, while suddenly making the old villains into “misunderstood good guys.” Their past crimes against the heroes were brushed aside and forgotten. For example, if it weren’t for the Power Gang, the Xiaos wouldn’t have been trapped in the safe house without water and would still be alive. But all was forgiven just because they preserved the bodies (of people they helped kill) as evidence and helped track down the killer. If I were XQS, I’d have held them accountable, maybe made them clean the graves every day for ten years or something.
LSF’s hatred of the Xiao family was so extreme that destroying them consumed his every thought. Yet he never truly got revenge on the person behind the massacre, nor did he apologize to the people he wrongly blamed, especially the Xiaos. He caused a lot of damage, but there was no “I’m sorry.” They just swept it under the rug. And with that, LSF’s purpose was lost. The feud between XQS and LSF disappeared without closure, and LSF ended up as a useless character. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one looking forward to their big showdown.
Another disappointing aspect was the lack of a strong sense of brotherhood. It was there, yes, and their friendship was solid, but within the trio, XQS shone brightly while the other two felt like dim little fireflies, simply existing in the background.
By the time the new villain came around, I had lost focus completely. He felt like just another bad guy I couldn’t care about, and I only kept watching to finish the story. There were still good moments here and there, but overall, the mishandling of the storytelling left me unsatisfied.
And a small rant: whoever invented that drinking cup/saucer design clearly intended half the drink to spill on the ground as an offering to ancestors, because otherwise it’s just a terrible design. The tea cups were perfectly fine. 😅 Okay, don’t come for me on that one, it was a joke.

As a fan of C-BBJX, and watched both version til the end. I can't help to compare these two. Warning : i might write some SPOILERS without realising.Story :
I'm disappointed with this version, the story is one of the main reason. C-BBJX shows lot of brotherhood of the 4th prince and 13th prince, strong friendship between female main lead and 13th prince, the relation between female main lead and the (late) king - how the king loved her as his own child, how the female lead loved, respected him, yet was afraid of him at the same time. Butt in this version, 80% of the story is about 4th prince and 8th prince's romance with the female lead.
The story pace of K-BBJX is also a problem, The first 8 or 10 episodes were filled with 8th prince and Hae Soo romance story, not a bad thing, but the last 10 episodes flows so quick that left so many questions.
I also despise how they change K-8th prince's character all of sudden (from good to bad to not so bad). In C-BBJX, he was ambitious and honest from the start that he wanted to be king. But after the 4th prince became king, he obeyed the king and started to lived peacefully with his wife (loved it when he realised that his 1st fujin was the one who always with him, and treated her with love), and left good impression at the end. C-BBJX is more realistic, they show that not everybody are 100% bad or good, they have reasons why they become what they are.
Acting :
Despite Lee jun ki and Kang ha neul, i think the others are failed to deliver the character.
I never hate when idols or flower boys dominate the dramas, but i always hope that they can deliver the character well.
IU really didn't convince me anything, especially in the last episode. Jisoo is not much different than IU, i heard that he's a good actor based on his late works, but i have to disagree if i judge from this drama.
Music :
One thing i love from this version is the songs! I love almost all of the OSTs.
Rewatch value :
Instead of wasting another 20 hours of my life for this, i prefer to waste it on C-BBJX.
Conclusion :
I'm a fan of Chinese Scarlet Heart, so i was exited when they announced that they would remake into Korean versions. But now i end up disappointed because of the story mess and the actings. But the cinematography in this version is better (not much better, i don't like so many close up shoots) than the C-BBJX.

The Story:
Waaaay too long. This could have been shrunk down to a 16-episode show and it would/should have been a better drama. Meaningless plot lines were dragged out, hypnosis was treated like some sort of super power, and I don't know but I'm pretty sure this writer didn't do much research on DID (I'm not saying I know more about DID than she does, but I'm pretty sure DID doesn't work like that). The whole kidnapping plot was something that was supposed to keep watchers on their toes, and although I think Sung Joon is brilliant, more could have been done.
The Cast/Characters:
I cannot even right now. Hyun Bin could have picked a much better drama for his comeback. I need to go rewatch Secret Garden right now. Seo Jin was a much better character than Robin, who seemed over-the-top and fake. I liked him when we first met him, but I began to want Seo-jin more. Hyun Bin can act, I'll give him that, and he may have salvaged the train wreck that was this drama. What even happened to Terry? The third personality barely had half an episode to himself before we never saw him again. I have no idea what Han Ji Min was doing, but Hana is the next Bella Swan. No expression, no personality, selfish in the name of selflessness... and practically no chemistry at all. I was rooting for Eun-chang and Woo-yong more than anybody else in the show. The only delight I got was in Cousin Seung-yeon and his weirdness.
I do not recommend this drama, but if you like this kind of thing, then watch it if you like flat plot lines, poor writing, and Kristen Stewart-characters.

Legalized Abuse
Every episode of D.P. Dog is like a dagger to the heart; the issues it raises are dark but have depth, especially related to the abnormal practices the military service allows to continue. It's hard to take, let alone accept these practices actually translate into real life. Only when I read an article by director Han Jun Hee, who adapted Kim Bo Tong's webcomic with the same title, D.P. Dog Day, did I realize there was truth to the fiction. In the article, the director said he wanted to follow young men in their early 20s and depict what they go through while at the same time offering a drama that could resonate with audiences by laying out current underlying issues facing South Korean society.I relate to this drama differently because my country, too, follows a conscripted military service system. I understand the need for mandatory service, especially when a country is at constant war with its neighbor; the need to be ready is that much more potent. But forced conscription where if one tries to skirt around it may affect their future not just legally but culturally that I don't understand. My country has indefinite forced conscription for both men and women who suffer intolerable psychological and physical aftermath -- the indignity of it all isolated and forced to adapt to the military’s hierarchical and disciplinary culture all while being treated so inhumanely, be it economically, mentally, or physically it's no wonder the service is viewed as a chore to escape rather than patriotic duty -- that is what's hard to stomach.
That Cho's (Jo Hyun Chul) incident comes straight from the headlines of a case of a sergeant in 2014 who went on a deadly shooting spree, reportedly as revenge for repeated bullying, makes it even that much more regrettable. Joon Ho (Jung Hae In) wailing at the end at the loss of a life whose only crime was trying to live his life to the best of his abilities with the threat of legalized abuse was sorrowing and harrowing at the same time. I admire, praise, and commend the whole cast, they all did an amazing job, and I've gained so much appreciation for their great acting abilities. The same goes for the scriptwriter for scripting such a compelling story and the director for bringing to life this raw gut-wrenching yet at the same time eye-opening drama. I hope it catalyzes the change both the civilian and military society in South Korea and other countries across this globe so desperately need. This drama will remain with me for a long time to come and is one I highly recommend.

Indeed, a heck of a lot of first world problems but the story is still interesting. I would love to say the characters are interesting but Kim Tan played by Lee Min Ho, is dull uninteresting and a character we have to take at face value. He lacks any real power or motivation that I am an emotional rock to his pain and even when he's taking action, it just feels very face value. He never in the end has to work hard to make things happen. Eunsang is equally dull and boring and so devoid of power, it's frightening. She almost makes no decision herself. She is dragged around and toyed with everywhere. She is also either bipolar or strange. There are moments she seems genuinely frightened at Young Do to the point of shaking then the next moment she is lecturing him, making us confused. No worries though, should she be in any real trouble there are countless men willing to save her.
The saving grace is Young Do and it's not because I like Kim Woo Bin because I genuinely liked Young Do's character. He's a self aware mess. He's very aware of his flaws but he still makes no attempt to fix them because he's not ready to acknowledge his pain. It makes for a compelling character who's flawed yet to some extent understandable.
The best part of the series are the last three episodes, not because the series ends but the directing is stellar, the acting picks up a notch and the script really delivers. There are very simple and poignant moments that transcend this drama from being a guilty pleasure to genuinely enjoyable.
However, overall, points were docked for my indifference to the two main characters and a lot of this cast. Some nonsensical plot devices and character changes. There was just a lot honestly, that didn't necessarily need to be there. I must also admit, at the end the conflicts were kind of unnecessary and also nonsensical.

Average Show
Predictable Story, Seems like a copy of the Departed (or Internal affairs) movie concept, Unnecessary romance without any chemistry between leads. Music and acting were only positive . The music was very good . The acting of the main female lead (Han So-hee) was good enough but Park See Hoon's acting was really good . The action was good enough but I hoped for more . Overall it is an average show. It started really well but gone downhill . The last episode was really bad. I would recommend you skip it.Was this review helpful to you?

Acting Master Class
Masterful Acting from every actor involved Awesome to see Gong Yoo back on the big screen He emotes better than actor All the actors were amazing in this series Unfortunately the story line, pacing & overall enjoyment lost it's luster with the messy plot. There were just too many anti-climax's The one year marriage contract that apparently only the wife got to enjoy , while the husband grieved the loss of his marriage and as the story evolves their unborn child There was no redemption for the wife character at all , she was portrayed as selfish calculating vindictive, the husband was a rather pathetic character from start to finish really. The 2nd contract wives story line, her marriage to a bisexual which apparently was the worst thing ever. The murderer who was murdered just so much going on way too much Of course the nude sex scenes which just stimulated but done nothing for the movement of the story All in all if the acting wasn't top notch it would have been a definite passWas this review helpful to you?

I'm going to be critical and vent omg
Okay, so this review will contain SPOILERS so if you're looking to avoid them, don't read beyond the spoiler warning! Also, these are my OWN views and can wildly differ from everyone else's. Please keep that in mind when reading the review :)
It's a fairly typical lakorn filled with all kinds of tropes... Guilty FL, identity confusion (?), love to hate etc. But I had come to love the subtle slow burn chemistry between the FL and ML. They're cute together. But with the FL all but running away to avoid the ML whose only being fueled in his determination to catch her, it descends into something typical and oh so familiar.
Why, omg why do all FL's have to be such Mary Sue's. Like shit. This is early episode 1, so technically not a spoiler. But the sister was clearly jaywalking. It was plain as day. Like there's no crosswalk, she didn't check both ways, she literally just walked into oncoming traffic and the car was equipped with a dash cam too apparently, so why, just WHY did the FL face prosecution. Also, it was NOT hit and run cauz she stopped, got out and checked on the girl. She didn't just drive away. She even went to the hospital with the girls family and apologized to them there repeatedly. In which sense does this look like a hit and run. Roads are meant for driving, NOT walking like you're in a park. So why did everyone villainise the FL. She had to face threats over the phone from the so called angry brother, went into debt just to pay off the family, which was mind you, already very well off. The FL literally had to change her name and move. Her dad's health deteriorated, the mental pressure, the stress, and I could go on and on. But like WHY ALL OF THIS WHEN IT'S NOT HER FAULT OMG...
So enters the ML, who takes over the company when his grandmom falls sick. Obvio the FL is there, working as an assistant. He's drawn to her like a moth to a flame, I kid you not. He's literally buzzing around her, 24x7. But thankfully, it's not I'm invading your personal space, forcing myself on you in hopes you'll like me buzzing. But a more teasing, subtle version which was cute to watch cauz clearly the FL feels something but her guilt is holding her back. It helped his case that he had Lee, his so called girlfriend, who was clearly someone that was more of a best friend than anything, so she helped him clear a path to the FL and occasionally even gave him advice on how to win her over. I liked the girl. She's one of my fav characters in the series. Okay, so now that you've gotten the gist, let's move on to the more frustrating part.
SPOILERS START, READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!!
SO now, despite the FL trying to resign multiple times, the ML has managed to win her over. She's confessed to him, they're going strong, a ring is mixed into the equation. I think you know what's coming next. That's right. The big reveal. I'm the one that hit your sister with a car and caused her to be paralyzed. The scene, while the setting was good, lacked impact. It was over too soon. I wanted them to have a proper confrontation. It just felt a bit lackluster in a way, especially since he was about to propose and all. Don't get me wrong, they did get their confrontation like it was shown in the opening, but of course he didn't hit her and drove around her and moved away. Then came the I hate your existence cauz I love you so much, but you lied, so here's some torture to make up for it. No better way to phrase it honestly. The ML did apologize, directly at that, for his actions to the FL and her family. So that does work in his favor. But not enough, I guess.
I'll admit, I did like the FL telling the ML that he's already taken everything from her, so what else can make up for it. But that's it. That was all the range of complaints she had. It mostly went from stay away from my family to kill me to satisfy your bloodlust. I was honestly very annoyed cauz everyone, including the FL and her family just assumed that it was their fault when it wasn't. Last I checked, jaywalking is a crime. There's a reason why there are traffic rules in place. Ugh, moving on.
The sister. What a trainwreck, I tell you. Half the time she was either in denial, being spiteful, crying or just doing everything she can to make the ML and FL's lives miserable. She literally fueled her brother's anger against the so called perpetrator of the accident and then pretended like she just wanted to move on with her life. Like, just move on then. Why are you riling up your brother by egging him on. I can accept that it was not totally her fault, the parents where partly responsible for her behavior too, but really? She sold out her own brother, who was always running around trying to get revenge for her, at the words of someone who got her pregnant and then actively threatened her to get his hands on her family's company. Messed up doesn't even cover it. To top it off, she accused her brother of raping her and told her parents that the kid was his. Like WTF. Apparently she was supposed to be adopted but wasn't really. That's when shit hit the fan for me.
Then, true lakorn styles, comes another revelation. And another. And another. Honestly, I'm not even going to write it down here cauz it makes my blood boil just thinking about it.
Idk how the FL and fam just forgave the ML and fam for literally dragging them through hell and back when it wasn't even their fault. Like, just no girl. Go sue them or something and enjoy your life away from these people. But of course she doesn't. It is all wrapped up in a rush in the last episode cauz that's all that they're for. To tie up lose ends. Ya'll had 16 episodes and yet you chose the last one for an information overload and then they drive off into the sunset like nothing happened. When will you learn, lakorn world :/
In conclusion, I'm pissed. And annoyed. And there weren't even any decent kisses to make up for it. So watch at your own risk. If you want more spoilers, drop a comment or a message and I'll be more than happy to spare you the pain from watching this.
