Repulsive

A complete lack of respect for real victims of abuse. They really want to exonerate a criminal because of his beauty and charisma.Incredible actresses. The plot (as it's being handled) is deplorable and repulsive.

Pacing and Plot

Pacing was meh and the plot this episode felt like a mess... a bit overdramatic towards the end specifically

What an episode!

The reveal was epically shot. The battle scenes were beautifully executed. Guess that General never thought he’d be taken down by a mere butcher, young girl. Never underestimate a petite woman because they are fierce. PoJ has really become one of my favorites and is one of the best dramas I have ever watched.

the start was rough, what with Arthit acting…

the start was rough, what with Arthit acting like an utter douche, like Daotok here doing u a favor - not asking anything in return & Arthit acting like Daotok owes him. i wouldn't be as kind as Daotok if i had to deal with Arthit's behavior. u don't need to beg & plead when u want something but act in a respectful manner. so am glad that by the end Daotok found a way for Arthit to return the favor. ************************************************************************************************************idk why we needed the foreigner, that whole convo between Daotok & his father's was so freakin robotic & awkward. only time in that scene where i didn't cringe was when he said that Arthit was rude. anyway Arthit & Daotok isn't starting off strong & i need Arthit to stop acting like a douche.

Five Stars

Considering this is her first experience in battle, she’s truly impressive. She was trained by her father, who is an elite general, and she’s remarkable. She’s incredibly strong and agile, which gives her an edge in combat. She’s already a force to be reckoned with, and she’ll be even more formidable in future battles.

One is the loneliest number

Chen Xi comes into her office to find Meng busy at her desk and nobody else. Turns out she has been caught in inside shady money deals that were discovered when Meng audited their past projects. It was serious enough that her staff is in HR being questioned. She is in trouble and the project has been returned to dept 3. Meng is pleased with herself for helping her real team get their project back. That made up for some of the humiliation Chen Xi dished out. The team is doing a happy dance and calling Yu director. YuCi has LiangLiang’s mom deliver takeout and shows her her home. YuCi invites her in and we don’t get to know what they talked about. YuCi is contacted by a mystery consortium called Beauty Pearl Society. She asks why she should trust them and they sent a pic of LiangLiang with her dad as proof of their sincerity. This raises a lot of questions. Jiang and wife make appearance at the deaf school where Chen Mo is a counselor. The two men are surprised at being introduced and Chen Mo says he handled the stress test at Lysen. They are making significant donations to the school and want the children’s choir to perform at the Lysen event. We are shown a comparison of dress choice for the event. YuCi has a black dress suit and LiangLiang is all about gold and sparkle. They each have their own strategy boards where they plot against each other. This time, LiangLiang is most familiar with Jiang’s tactics. She already knows he is going to stage things to isolate YuCi from her team. She opts to sit back and watch it play out. YuCi is starting a wedge between MuRan and LiangLiang, but she needs something that will permanently break them up due to greed. She is still pondering the point. MuRan thinks he can bribe Ren with a designer bag.😂 She doesn’t even look at it and recommends he give it to LiangLiang. Here again he is told that resting is his best option because he will not be included in the new project. Today is Chen Mo’s bday and he tried to celebrate it with YuCi. While that didn’t happen there was a sweet scene with Nuan helping him light the candles. MuRan picks up YuCi and says he will work with her. She brings up Beauty Pearl Society and their 1.1 billion investment in HengXing. She tells him that Beauty Pearl Society is his way in with Jiang. He follows suit by asking his gma about them. She doesn’t know much because they are newly formed and keep to themselves. I think she is surprised her grandson even knows they exist. I did not catch who Mr Han represents but LiangLiang and MuRan both made special effort for introductions. MuRan even offered a meeting with his gma. Mr Yu is cute wearing Ren’s tie. I love these little exchanges between these two. Jiang and YuCi make their grand entrance. She comments that she doesn’t really enjoy the performance and sees Chen Mo taking pictures. Jiang comments about rumors he’s heard of her and Chen Mo. MuRan runs into Chen Mo and warns him that YuCi is a ladder climber and love isn’t her priority. This is funny coming from him.😝Jiang makes a grand opening to introduce YuCi on stage. Here he announces her VP of Lysen and overseer of dept three. She is quite stunned and simply says thank you to audience and Mr Jiang. Her team is shocked and happy at same time. Once again, Mr Yu is overlooked and that hits hard. They keep him company til Ren shows up and then gratefully leave him in her care. These two have a candid conversation. He wants to know why she threw out ten years of love. She takes a shot before responding because Yu just doesn’t get it. He was the one that wanted to stay at Lysen. She never did. But to stay there she had to isolate herself and toe the line. She sacrificed to keep him his job and the dumb lug doesn’t see that. She finally just admitted that the more she tried to protect him, the more she had to give up. YuCi and Ren are now in the same boat and both of them understand that solitude is the only armor that protects you at Lysen. Ren has already walked the walk. Now YuCi is making the same choice. She gets that she has to completely bury who she really is or her friends could become weaknesses. This will be especially hard because she was finally opening up to a kinder world. She knows that she will be most under scrutiny with this position and mistakes are not an option. Maybe Yu is finally starting to understand Ren a bit now. He wants her to walk with him and the episode ends.

When the Truth Rides Onto the Battlefield

First ImpressionThis episode hit hard. The emotional payoff was huge, but it also felt like everything finally cracked open at once.Episode ThoughtsWhat I really liked about this episode is that the lesson the ML keeps trying to teach the FL about consequences ends up hitting him right back. He wants her to understand that reckless choices can have serious results, but in the end it’s his own lie that causes the biggest mess. Her actions actually work in their favour too, because by moving Sui Yuanhuai she prevents him from being taken back. And when RP and Mr Sun stand up for her and stop the ML from punishing her, it only makes it clearer to me that keeping her in the dark has done more harm than good.Once the enemy is pushed into a corner, there’s no avoiding a bloody battle. The ML has clearly planned for a lot, but he still hasn’t accounted for just how far the FL will go to protect him. Because she still believes he’s injured and heading to the front line, she drugs him and takes his place. It nearly creates an even bigger disaster, but from her point of view every decision she makes comes from wanting to save him.I also loved the quieter emotional beats in this episode. The interaction between the RP and Mr Sun was beautiful. They both clearly care about each other, but their circumstances make everything more complicated. The RP continues to impress me because she carries the burden of her title while still trying to do what she believes is right. Then the battlefield chaos begins. The ML waking up and realising what she’s done, even slicing his hand to clear his head faster, really drives home how badly his lie has backfired. On the battlefield the FL and the thug boys are completely out of place, but they still push through. They take down the catapult, and even in the middle of all that she chooses to spare the boy manning it. The FL gets hit hard after rushing in to help the General, but she still manages to take down the enemy leader. And then comes the moment everything changes: the ML arrives on horseback, and she finally learns who he really is. After everything she has done to protect him, that reveal lands like a blow.Character NotesThe FL was the standout for me again. She’s reckless, yes, but every reckless thing she does comes from love, loyalty, and that instinct to protect her people. Her character development has been so good to watch, and Tian Xi Wei was incredible here. The ML finally has to face the consequences of his choices. His strategy may be brilliant, but emotionally he created this situation by keeping the truth from her for too long. I still don’t see a valid reason for leaving her in the dark. The RP continues to grow on me. She’s compassionate, brave, and has her own burdens to carry. Her scene with Mr Sun was one of the softest moments in the episode.Mr Sun was also great here, especially standing up for the FL. And as always, the thug boys may be out of their depth, but their loyalty to her never wavers.Final ThoughtsThis episode was intense, emotional, and frustrating in the best way. The reveal was long overdue, and now that it has finally happened I’m very ready to see the fallout. More than anything, this episode made me feel for the FL, because everything she did came from love and she was acting without the full truth.Favourite MomentThe moment the ML rides onto the battlefield and the FL finally discovers his true identity. It’s not just dramatic, it hurts.Trope CheckSecret identity revealBattlefield reunionTaking someone’s placeProtective female leadConsequences of liesMutual piningWar and sacrifice

I Love it!!!!

I loved everything about this episode. It was sweet, touching, bitter, sad, and depressing. The fight scenes were spectacular; my heart raced when the battles began. At the same time, I felt so sad—a war that had just begun but with so many casualties. The soldiers included both those afraid to die and those ready to fight.

ENTERS THE MARQUIS!

After sitting on the edge of my seat watching Chang Yu in battle, the breathtaking entrance of the Marquis was the perfect topping.
