Why does he even have two twin sized beds? Like doesn’t he live alone. Thats so random. Homeboy is gonna marry her lmao. I like the plot idea its just too short to do anything lmao. Okay bye!
The show is so budget but it’s so fun. I have to go clock in and I can’t finish this eight minute episode but it’s low-key been gas. Lmao. The guy with the sexy eyes whose not bald is so funny. Okay bye!
this was genuinely such a beautiful heart+felt episode & so early too. already the show has established a much more mature feeling then you would expect & in a way that respects the audience of children & adults. i think it does still have the flaws that many childrens' media has where they oversimplify things a lot ,not just for easy understanding but also because you usually have a short running time & it was definitely present at the start of the episode but you get so invested as you let the episode do its thing to where i genuinely started to produce tears by the end of it. also ,extremely extremely good balancing out the ensemble cast.xui isn't a sentai but she had a fully satisfying story in this episode. our red takers a back+seat but he makes his presence known exactly where a red should in this episode that did not oversahdwo anypony. nopony was overshadowed honestly ,all of them had a very good role for this episode. blue was ,okay in retrospect maybe he got the short end of the stick because this is technically a focus episode for him i feel & i think he needed a little bit more attejtion instead of just having him suddenly learn his lesson but it is okay to me. so since blue has his story happening ,pink becomes a supporter for ui & later blue too & it was really phenomenally done. i am always extremely critical about how female tokusatsu characters are portrayed & shafted but pink is debuting at a top top spot in my ranking of best female tokusatsu characters. she feels like a real person with strengths & weaknesses & concerns & fears. she is not an auxiliary ryusoulger ,she is a core member of the team with a distinct role they need & so much more beyond battles.xnow for green & black ,green definitely is the main focus right now which i don't hatre because i think that adds mystiqwue to the sexy ass black ryusoulger & i imagine it is going to pay off. it also nust naturally benefits green because he has a loud mouth. both of them have sharp tongues but green uses it more. this was a satisfuyinh introduction to them ,because they aree a pair ity makes sense for them to not get an immediate focus episode ,along weith the fact that they are starting off as pseudo+antagonistic & i think they left exactly the impression they should've with their current roles.xas i said in the beginning ,there are down+sides to children+targeted medioa but you can also look at it like another thing you need to keep in mind when making children+targeted media & i think they hit the mark. this is shaping up really well & i am genuinely pleased tp watch this season. i am excited to see the arcs that these characters go on & i reallyt have higher expectations for what the rest of this show is plotting because of this episode. this was a really good watch.
Overall, this is such an easy watch. To have two people always meant for each get back together is thin*s that are beautiful in this world. Lovely short drama.
harry june was such a sunshine and energizer on the show. he said it himself that he was close with everyone and it really showed with how kind and warm he was to his fellow contestants despite his basically nonexistent screen time. he was always seen hyping someone up, hugging and laughing with someone, comforting people, and the list goes on. not to mention he was incredibly sabotaged by mnet which i won't get into (but trust me.... it's a lot) despite everything, harry june has always worked HARD, challenging himself and striving for improvement. he debuted at 16 and has since been on several survival shows—solo and with his members (be mbitious, peak time, etc.). he also has made over 80+ choreographies, and taught dance classes even alongside bada lee. he is a true gem in k-pop and he deserves sooo much love for all his efforts.he has a true hunger for performing and always does his absolute best to reach that next level and it SHOWS!! he was made for the stage :') he is sweet, humble, energetic and truly a star <3 please support him in his future endeavors alongside heechan and their group DKB 🤎🤎🤎
got my fat ass laying here at 4am wanting a cinnamon roll but urgh i loved her making msg from scratch that was so good, her and the other village girl together are peak can they run away and live in the mountains somewhere without the ML pls
This episode sees sides being taken…..anti-Japanese and anti-communist. They are polar and zealot in the defense of their own and their hatred of the other. Dalun is either undercover for the government working with the Japanese in opium market or dealing on his own. The lies fly from him so there is no way to tell from his speech, and his actions are as deceptive as his words. Cheng and Shen are playing word games with communist leaning articles in the paper. I don’t know which Shen values more his political career or Si Yun. He is quieter about it, but he is as obsessed with Si Yun as his sister is with Cheng. After the movies Cheng is going to take Si Yun out for some late night noodles and gets knifed instead. Fortunately, the family pocket watch saved him. Si Yun spends the night in the hospital watching over him. His pretense of injury trying to get her to wait on him. She immediately calls him on it and they have a chat about his pocket watch and the picture inside instead. Noticeably absent is his sidekick. Dalun visits him in the hospital. Dalun swears up and down he is dealing with a Chinese guy he owed a favor to and not Japanese. Cheng asks him to ask his guys about his sidekick. His main guy admits to taking care of him because of his communist leanings. Cheng feels just as strongly about dealings with Japanese. I am not sure what’s going to happen when it comes to a head I just hope they both survive it. The new pregnant mom wants an abortion. She came to Si Yun’s clinic and asked for one. She asked again when Si Yun was there to make a house call. Is Zeng holding her against her will? Why does she call him a monster and not want to carry his child? What secrets does the calm speaking father hold? The fact that she’s bleeding may mean she is desperate enough to try other means to lose the baby. Sidekick is found and pretty beat up. He is ready to head northeast since he failed his job. The henchman on Dalun’s side makes no apologies for his actions. Even after getting beat on he warns Dalun that if he does not handle what’s going on with Cheng, Shen will squash him like a bug. And with all this going on Si Yun and Ao are growing closer and working on how to transport medical supplies for Gu. Shen has quieted the one reporter pointing out the extra supplies and wanting to know where they were headed. I don’t think she knows the pro communist stance of Gu. Theses politics are very interwoven and messy. There are two different wars in the works and already many casualties on both sides. The internal and external threats are polarizing the people and leading to a big storm. I want all our favorite people to survive the fallout.
really enjoying the foodie elements but both leads are really really insufferable - perhaps the original web novel is cheesy and full of gags which is why this adaptation follows suit, but it really didn't fit the vibe i anticipated. the acting is fine and the period fashion is great as i'd hoped, but i'm a little let down in terms of an initial start. we haven't gotten to her chefmaxxing however so i'll keep watching(shout out to the really bad cliff falling greenscreen btw)
So now the new recruit wants to join a northeast volunteer army and Cheng supports it and asks Mr Gu to help the group make it there safely. In return Mr Gu wants a lot of medical supplies and hard to get equipment. Here is where he better not get Cheng and Si Yun killed for helping him. Ya know, I was too optimistic about Si Yun’s brother. I honestly thought there might be a liver of repentant human there, and then ya find out he has a pregnant wife upstairs who thinks he is wealthy and owns the hospital. She is acting like a spoiled brat so that ain’t helping.😝 The first wife is actually washing her feet. Sister gets her out of the room and daughter gives the tea about dear old dad.😝😂🥳 So they leave to cheaper pastures and the mom becomes a new medical recruit. Si Yun promises to train her. Not sure if as midwife or nurse, but she is a giver by nature so she will be a ray of sunshine no matter what job she ends up doing. The mom deserves the brat wife but since she’s pregnant she probably will gush over her rather than chastise son. Dalun is back and Shen tries to big brother him in the hall. Dalun resents it because he thinks Shen is a big phony and he really wants nothing to do with him. When he finds out who Dalun is working with under government contract he invites him to dinner and is refused. He talks Cheng into arranging it and they will have dinner that night. Cheng and Dalun both find out dad has a new pregnant wife. Dalun says is a brother because of pointy belly. 😂 I have no idea if this is more myth than fact, it’s just funny that he takes the time to believe it. The meal is a disaster when Dalun gets lippy and Shen calls in two MPs. Unfortunately things escalate and Shen orders them to kill him. So Cheng takes second gun to his head and tells him to order it. Shen doesn’t and Cheng and Dalun leave. Shen shows up with 2 fifths of something and starts drinking down the bottle. Cheng takes one long drink of bottle two and heads to the movies. He and Si Yun have figured out how to get the items but not how to transport them yet. I really don’t want them tangling with Dalun et al. They are given carte Blanche with permission for lethal response. It is funny how Cheng tries to trick Si Yun into holding his hand. She calls him on it and teases his hand is sweaty. He takes his hand away and she grabs it. The episode ends with them both grinning and holding hands. 🥰
While SiYun is rallying herself together Cheng and Shen are bickering in the adjoining room. When she is finally tired of it she leaves to find Mrs Shen. Her son tells her how Mr Dong got a bit out of hand but was handled. She corners them with who introduced her question and son has to admit fault. She is far from happy and offers to personally escort her to the right people for investing. Cheng assured her that there will be no repeats. Mrs Dong asks Si Yun directly that with Mr Dong being an issue things might get difficult and Si Yun lets her know her clinic will happen no matter how difficult. There is a man killed in the bathroom and everybody is getting checked at the door. The waiter who has had two other names tossed around is also Mr Gu from shantytown. They are holding him at the door and Cheng and father get him out. He does remember to go back and get Si Yun. There is a father/son chat about Mr Gu and Cheng is strongly warned about not getting involved in politics. This is also where mentioned Cheng is adopted son. The house has been purchased by Mrs Shen and she comes to get paperwork. Si Yun then learns that Mrs Shen is considering this her investment and she wants the hospital here. Yi Sun can’t believe her good fortune. As it is changed to be a hospital Cheng visits and offers his legal services. She is not to worry about paying he considers himself a second investor. I like where Cheng is cornered by Ms Shen and asked directly if he has feelings for Si Yun, his response, I simply have no feelings for you.😂Then when asked who is better he responds Si Yun is excellent and he gave no such recommendation for her. I don’t think he would have typically been that harsh, but she needed to truly understand he wasn’t interested. The niece returns from school and sees the new hospital coming into shape. She is headed to her old room now part of the dormitory. It was cute watching her guy bring in her luggage for her and then immediately excuse himself. Cheng then has a chat with his sidekick and son about the military. Dad is all against and Cheng supports him. During training there was an issue where the boy was beaten and jailed for communist thinking. He wanted clarification about why politics were more important than fighting invasion forces. This went to court and the jury is out tho it looks promising to go his way. Si Yun invites Ao to lunch and the kid responds. When chastised by his dad, Cheng includes them. Si Yun wasn’t as happy but said that is what Mr Cheng wanted.😂 I don’t think he will be asked out again any time soon.😂They are headed out for food and episode ends.

SPOILERS ;mostly characterization critiques & then major plot issues
i don't really like noumen ,i understand he is supposed to be robotic & callous but that doesn't make it a pleasant or invigorating watching experience ,i feel like maybe slightly ,SLIGHTLY going a comedic route could work better. i just think kamikawa takaya is so stiff & fake in this performance & that it isn't really going anywhere engaging. i definitely do not want him to have some deep ,traumatic back+story i think that would be corny & cliche ,like i said i think it genuinely would be funnier for him to just be like this even in monotonous situations that makes everypony uncomfortable. but him not having some big & bad origins ,i think it would be cooler just to have him be somepony wityh a strong moral he sticks to like a person watching this drama & not like a contrivbed fictional character.& on that note i think soryo has the depth of kindergarten instructions i think every move she makes & dialogue she is given is just so convenient it is tiring. she is our perspective character that is supposed to ask the things we are thinking to noumen & this is going to be ironic for my next point but she is literally just like a jaded employee phoning it in because they don't really give af that much. i think she is a missed opportunity at portraying the demographic tuning into this drama. the world is basically entirely made up of under±classed workers. we are all cogs to the machine ,we work for the sake of living ,& we are all jaded. maybne not all of us but a majority yes. thgere is just small changes they could make to reflect a more nuanced person that everypony is. why does soryo choose to stay ,what does soryo gather from noumen's off+course methods ,why does soryo not understand oshikatsuu. i am not asking for brand new scenes & a recut i just literally want to see her exist & process emotions instead of being a cue card for what noumen is thinking or needs to do.now onto the biggest gripe i have with this episode. i do not fucking life centering male sexual assault assailants. i understand why we are doing this for the first episode ,this specific archetype is the perfect example of strong social reactions & stigmatization & works extremely well for having us investigate the taboos & accepted injustices in our world. but this is not a new & novel plot+point especially not from every other j-drama i have seen. therew is this constant framing of sexual violence being a false accusation that is destroying the life of the accused & here we have an innocent otaku set up by a high+school girl who serially accuses with the real culprit of the murder is his sister that he is valliantly protecting. i think there is merit to having this be discussed & portrayed & i am not going to make a sweeping statement about all of j-dramas but i have yet to see sexual violence victims & misogyny given as much spot+light. this is literally propaganda like . . . i will see this show out because i stan onishi ryusei but liek i highly doubt we will see a case portraying & caring for a female victim &or victim of sexual violence.as i just said i will be seeing this show out. i will always have a good time with a mystery & investigation ,i started suspecting the mother after the context flash+back scene with her & rumi but it makes sense that her emotional out±burst in interrogation was a red herring. i was really hoping the sister would be okay the entire time though ,her complex feelings about constantly being surrounded by female high+school characters being unsettling really stuck with me. but really i will finish this for my little ryuche hehe i think it's so funny how all of the acting work i see from him is just ryuche in a new setting context like he will always just be my cutie honey & i am perfectly satisfied with him staying that way.
