WHEN TRUST BECOMES THE MOST DANGEROUS WEAPON

Episode 22 is where the story starts tightening the screws.By this point, the drama has already given us the romantic payoff we've been waiting for—Xie Jiayu and Xiao Wuyi have acknowledged their feelings for each other.But instead of allowing them to simply enjoy that happiness, the story immediately reminds us that they are living in a world where love, family, loyalty, and political survival cannot be separated.And that's what makes this episode so tense. ❤️ AFTER THE CONFESSION, THEIR PARTNERSHIP FEELS DIFFERENTOne of the most satisfying things about this part of the drama is seeing how naturally Jiayu and Xiao Wuyi function as a couple.Their relationship isn't suddenly transformed into a series of romantic scenes.Instead, the confession strengthens something that has existed between them for a long time:trust.They already know how to work together.They understand each other's strengths.They know when the other person is hiding something.And, most importantly, they are becoming increasingly comfortable relying on each other.That's what makes their romance work so well for me.Their love is not separate from the story.Their love has become part of their survival strategy. 🧠 JIAYU IS NO LONGER THE WOMAN WHO NEEDS TO BE PROTECTEDThis is also an important stage in Jiayu's development.At the beginning of the drama, it would have been easy to write her as the young woman who simply gets dragged into Xiao Wuyi's dangerous world.But that's not what happened.She learned.She adapted.She became more observant.And she became increasingly capable of making decisions in situations where even experienced political players can make mistakes.Her intelligence isn't merely decorative.Her mechanical knowledge, resourcefulness, and ability to think differently continue to make her valuable.And I love that Xiao Wuyi recognizes this.He doesn't need Jiayu to become helpless so that he can become her hero.He needs her to be his partner. 🦅 LI MAO: THE MAN WE STILL CANNOT COMPLETELY READAnd then there is Li Mao.At this stage, the easiest interpretation would be to simply label him the antagonist.But I still don't think the drama makes it that simple.His actions are increasingly difficult to accept from Xiao Wuyi's perspective. ⚔️ THE PAST CONTINUES TO CONTROL THE PRESENTAnother thing I appreciate about this drama is how rarely it treats the past as genuinely finished.Old grudges continue influencing present decisions.Old betrayals continue affecting families.Past political crimes continue determining who trusts whom.And characters who believe they are acting independently are often still reacting to events that happened years before they had any control over them.That makes the story feel more interconnected. ❤️ JIAYU AND WUYI: A LOVE BUILT ON CHOICEAfter Episode 19, I keep coming back to one thing:Jiayu chose him.That matters.She didn't simply accept Xiao Wuyi because their marriage happened first.She didn't stay with him because she had no other option.She eventually recognized that the person she had once feared was the person she trusted most.And now that she has admitted her feelings, their relationship has a completely different emotional foundation.They are together because they want to be.That makes everything threatening them much more painful. 🥹 WHY THEIR ROMANCE FEELS EARNEDTheir romance is not built around endless misunderstandings.It's built around accumulated experiences.The dangerous situations they survived together.The secrets they gradually revealed.The times they protected one another.The moments when they chose trust instead of suspicion.And even the disagreements.All of those things slowly changed their relationship.So when they finally became emotionally honest with each other, it felt earned. 🧩 THE STORY IS NOW PREPARING FOR ITS FINAL MOVESEpisode 22 feels like a tightening of the narrative rather than a completely new beginning.The major pieces are already on the board.Xiao Wuyi.Jiayu.Li Mao.Li Lejun.The Phoenix Heart.The old family conflicts.The political struggle.And increasingly, the northern forces.The question is no longer simply who is hiding what.The question is:What will everyone do once the truth can no longer remain hidden? RYAN AND JANG IM SICK I LOVE THIS SHOW. Holy proposal. Also him testing the positions HAS ME SICKKK. This is what their 2nd time getting married? Why is he trying to seduce the bellboy right now? What happened to the oil tycoon? He gives everyone the bottom eyes and they fold but not this bruh. Hard watch or hard while watching. IM SO GAGGED. Tee’s friends are real ones, LMAO. Moral of this story, do not watch stuff on sub websites. There were no subtitles for that ending bit. But it was cute. If I had everybody, I would probably give the ending like a 9 out of 10, so pretty good. I was obsessed with the younger brother couple. You see, I hate the high school couple. They were so cute. Oh my God, I am going to need a special episode with just them. I do not care about our main couple, so yeah. Another show off the list. OK, bye!

First 2/3 of this episode are very depressing

and deal mainly with the impact of Guan Zai's health problems on his family. While the performances are excellent, it's a real downer plot-line and I worry that the point of it is just to paint all the negatives that can happen to someone working in Yu Tu's field who tries to have a family. And that he will use this as an excuse later to reject Jingling. But it's kind of over-the top and frankly there are a lot of flaws in the storylines the last few episodes. Assuming China's rules around who can get clearances for confidential work are at least remotely similar to those of other countries, one of the requirements is disclosure of things like, well, financial problems and severe health issues. The requirement to disclose these things is not to be punitive, but rather to protect the employee from becoming vulnerable. It's just not credible that YuTu would not have informed the Institute of the stressors on his financial situation and if he hasn't then he's probably in violation of his contract. So the storyline has been very irritating that so many of YuTu's colleagues and superiors are pressuring him about work .... when Yu Tu himself has simply not been honest and fully disclosed his financial worries stemming from his mother's health. And similarly, Guan Zai fails to disclose his obvious health problems to anyone until he ends up collapsing. Avoiding problems like these are why disclosure rules are put in place. So your employer and colleagues can help. or at least be understanding. The last couple of episodes are overall extra frustrating because of the many points where the righters have characters (mainly YuTu and Guan Zai ) purposely withhold information or outright lie to others about various problems in their lives. And Shen Jing also does it to hide things from her son. And later, when YuTu finally joins up with Jingling again, does he bother to let her know at all about his sick friend and how he's been spending time in the hospital with him? No. He keeps it to himself and says nothing about it. AAAAGH!!! This is simply not how real adults interact. It's like the last two episodes are a celebration of lies, half-truths and misinformation among friends! WTF are the show writers doing here? I really hope this isn't something the show keeps using as a plot device.

Go take the throne!”Instead, it creates a much more complicated question:What does a person do when the position he is entitled to is exactly the position he doesn't want?And that's been at the heart of Xiao Wuyi's character from the beginning.🦅 THE MAN WHO NEVER WANTED POWERThis is perhaps the biggest contradiction in Xiao Wuyi.He is one of the most powerful people in the story.He has military authority.He has political influence.He has the respect of his soldiers.He has the intelligence to manipulate court politics.He has the bloodline to justify a claim to the throne.And yet...he doesn't seem to want the throne for himself.What he wants is much simpler.He wants stability.He wants the country to stop destroying itself through political infighting.He wants justice.He wants his soldiers to stop dying because of corrupt political decisions.And increasingly, he wants a future where he can actually live instead of constantly fighting.❤️ JIAYU UNDERSTANDS HIMAnd this is another reason Jiayu is such an important partner for him.She doesn't simply see:“The Crown Prince.”She sees:“Xiao Wuyi.”The exhausted man behind the title.The man who doesn't know how to stop carrying responsibility.The man who would rather protect other people than ask someone to protect him.And now that they're openly in love, Jiayu can finally support him emotionally rather than simply trying to understand him politically.🌸 THEIR RELATIONSHIP FEELS DIFFERENT NOWAfter the confession in Episode 19, their relationship becomes noticeably more secure.There's less uncertainty.Less emotional hesitation.More natural intimacy.They already know where they stand.And I love that the drama doesn't suddenly change their personalities just because they are officially in love.Jiayu is still Jiayu.Xiao Wuyi is still Xiao Wuyi.They tease each other.They disagree.They cooperate.They worry about each other.But now there is an underlying certainty:“I'm with you.”And in a drama filled with political betrayal, that certainty is incredibly valuable.🧩 LI MAO IS STILL THE BIG QUESTION MARKAnd then we have Li Mao.😭Bestie, at this point I STILL wouldn't call him a straightforward villain.He has done things that make me suspicious.He has manipulated situations.He has kept information from Xiao Wuyi.He has protected Li Lejun.And he has deliberately allowed his relationship with Xiao Wuyi to deteriorate.But the drama continues giving us hints that there is something else happening underneath.His actions are too calculated.His choices are too deliberate.And sometimes his behavior seems less like:“I want the throne.”and more like:“I need to make sure a particular outcome happens.”Those are very different motivations.⚔️ THE BROTHERHOOD IS OVERBut regardless of what Li Mao's ultimate intentions are, the damage between him and Xiao Wuyi is real.They can no longer simply return to how things were.Their friendship has been contaminated by politics.And this is one of the saddest themes of the drama.The court doesn't just destroy political alliances.It destroys personal relationships.People who once trusted each other are forced to question every action.People who once fought side by side are suddenly asking:“Are you helping me—or manipulating me?”👑 THE SUCCESSION PROBLEMWith Xiao Wuyi's identity becoming increasingly relevant, the succession question becomes more dangerous.If the Crown Prince's identity becomes public, there will inevitably be people who want to use him.Some will support him.Some will fear him.Some will want him on the throne.Others will want him dead.And that's precisely why Xiao Wuyi's hidden identity has been such a dangerous secret.Once the truth is public, he becomes a political target again.🩸 THE PAST ISN'T DEADThe drama also continues connecting present political conflicts to old crimes.The tragedies tha
