The actors made it for me.

First episodes are meant to be the most interesting aside from the climax. I was lost most of this episode and really couldn't figure out why they chose to mess with the order of events as such. Regardless of this, I did continue watching, mostly because of Kang Nam Gil, even though his character borders on "annoyingly loud" he's one of the best supporting characters I've ever watched, he practically spews crazy fatherly love. I was also encouraged by the very apparent clash of character between the main lead and her father. I think they did a great job with this episode, I was crying throughout, but managed to end on a laugh. Resuming me to looking like a hot mess in the middle of my living room. I liked it, mhm.

the one million dollar question

I need to know: did they sleep together, or did they SLEEP together?

Shallow, am I not? But as superficial as I can be, I can't get rid of the thought that there must be a reason why they decided to remain vague about the matter. I understand the whole scene - brilliantly acted by Ha Ji Won, I may add - aims at showing the new king finally giving in to grief. I loved it and was expecting it to happen in her arms: where else?

But why cut to the next morning? Not to distract us from the real problem at hand? To enhance our imagination? I hope not: mine is already running wild, picturing how that darn shirt of his was taken off...

What just happened..?!?!

I really, really wanted to give this episode a 10. I really did...

I mean, I loved the fights. I loved how all 4 of them faced off against Shi You Ming. But..I felt the death of Hu Ji was kind of rushed, but at the same time I can understand she panicked and that got her killed.

But Wu Dao...really...following a butterfly? I told myself "suspend your disbelief!" And tried to get over it...but then....then...they give me that ending!??! I agree with the previous review...Why? Wae? Por que?!?!? Why did it end that way, that's so depressing...Couldn't he have like appeared somewhere...? He was half dragon, he wasn't immortal, but he could live a pretty darn long time! Why not give a few more and let them reunite in the future? :(

irritated

this starts out so good..I too have a problem with the timeline..are they going to get older still? why else have such an old cast? Uhm Tae Wong is a great actor but even he can't play someone that much younger than himself...I just can't see him in this role and it irritates me and ruins the show..also people who are blinded recently don't act like they have been blind from birth :( They should have left the younger actors for these episodes. Maybe only switched up Lee Joon Hyuk who is almost young enough to pass for a college student.

War!

I think Rong Di's inspirational speech didn't quite have the effect he wanted. I mean, he admits he's been a sucky ruler ever since he became king and then asks people to fight and very, very likely die, like 99.99999999% chance of a very horrible death. I would have had the same reaction...lol

I find sort of amusing that her dad is so willing to send his, apparently, only daughter back to the past and to certain death. He only says "Must you go?" O_o

Bittersweet...

Wen Tian sent her back to her time. I'm torn it's one of the sweetest and most annoying scenes ever. It's sweet because it means he loves and cares about her, but he didn't even give her a choice in the matter, just pushed her into the machine...and then destroys it. I wonder if she or her dad will be able to do put the machine back together again.

And when I saw that light coming from Yu Die's tomb, I got scared for a second there. I thought she was making a comeback...lol

By the way, if anyone reads this while they are watching it, I don't remember if it was this episode of the previous one, but when they (Yao Yao & Wen Tian) were talking about making/doing rash decisions/things...were they hinting at...THAT? LOL

hard to tell at this time

Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of Koo Hye Sun, but I find her acting here is too much with the dubbing not helping whatsoever. I am watching this because of her and saw the Japanese version which is good. Last I saw Jiro Wang was in ISWAK 1 and 2. He looks so different now...more sexy with leaner face.

I say I'll give this drama a try while waiting for my Korean dramas for new episodes.

100% satisfactory ending

I cant believe i'm saying this but i think i may have enjoyed the ending to this version more than the original. Shock horror, i know. But it truely was amazing. The ending to this version was a little different from the original. But if you ask me, this one was better.

Truely an exceptional remake. I wish more people would give it a chance.

Koo Hye Sun is really annoying...

I love this story - I've read the manga and also have seen the Japanese version. This version seems to be a combination of both stories (in the manga, Soshi was her neighbor and childhood friend - but she's a high school student. In the Jversion, Soshi is her boss and she meets him at the office).

My main issue I can see with this version (at least for me) is Koo Hye Sun. The dubbing isn't that good and I really don't think she's a good actress....and I find her annoying (she always makes these weird faces at random moments, too).

I do plan on continuing this drama because of Jiro and the other guy (Xie Kun Da) - what Koo Hye Sun lacks they make up for - and the music is really good, too! So so far...having mixed emotions.

Bird....

I just knew Shi You Ming was one of the celestial beasts. But for someone who wanted to keep his origin a secret he had that scroll in a way too easy to open chest in plain sight...Sometimes hiding in plain sight is not the way to go, especially when he has Hu Ji as a slave...lol

And just how old is Rong Di? He was acting like a kid: "Gimme! That's mine! Mine!" That's what I saw...lol

And people....remember that shiny thing on the mural when you were looking for that scroll to save Yu Die...don't you think that's the Qilin (or whatever) eye? That's what I want to tell them...lol

Sigh....

So, I guess it's a bad thing to be honest with someone? Wu Dao compares Mu Lian and Yu Die and it seems Yu Die's moronic behavior of supporting him on everything is good.

And I have to laugh, Mo Yin does a spell, but even that does not fully erase Rong Di's obs....I mean, his love.
