The Weight of Becoming

First ImpressionThis episode felt like a turning point — emotionally heavy, but also setting the FL firmly on her path.Episode ThoughtsThis episode dives deeper into both the political chaos and the emotional weight our characters are carrying. The male lead uncovers more about Qi Min, realising he is the Imperial grandson and rightful heir — which makes everything even more dangerous considering how unstable he is. He’s ruthless, killing without hesitation, but at the same time, every scene he’s in is so compelling to watch. His interaction with Manager Yu, where he opens up about the massacre from 17 years ago, adds another layer to his character, and somehow she manages to escape. On the FL’s side, we really see her struggling with the reality of killing. She just wants to protect her people, but that leads to a meaningful conversation with the Grand Tutor, who challenges her thinking. He makes her realise that her abilities are too important to ignore — especially after everything she’s already done to protect the city. It’s a tough internal conflict because she still sees the enemy as people like her and the thug boys, not faceless enemies. Her meeting with General Hu feels like it should be a big moment, especially with the hint that we might learn more about her parents. But of course, he keeps quiet and pushes it off until after the battle — which, let’s be honest, is never a good sign. Their sparring scene was great, and the reveal that he was the one who named her adds a deeper emotional connection for the audience, even if she doesn’t know it yet.Captain Li returns, still clearly crushing on the FL, but is quickly sent off on a mission to stop the enemy. Meanwhile, the FL comes to a big decision — she can’t sit this out. After everything, she chooses to fight and steps into her role, fully suited in the battle gear given to her by General Hu. It really feels like the moment she’s becoming the fighter she’s meant to be.Character NotesThe female lead continues to grow in such a compelling way. Her internal struggle with killing versus protecting people feels real, and this episode really pushes her toward becoming a true fighter. The male lead is more in the background here but is uncovering important truths about Qi Min, which will definitely matter later.Qi Min is chaotic and dangerous, but honestly, he’s magnetic every time he appears. The Grand Tutor once again plays a key role in guiding the FL, while General Hu feels important but suspiciously temporary given the “after the battle” comment.Captain Li is still holding onto his feelings, adding a quiet layer of tension.Final ThoughtsThis episode is all about hard choices and stepping into who you’re meant to be. It feels like the calm before something big, with the FL finally choosing to fight. I’m both excited and slightly terrified for what’s coming next.Favourite MomentThe FL deciding she can’t stand back anymore and stepping into her battle role.Trope CheckHidden royal identity, tragic villain backstory, reluctant warrior, mentor guidance, “after the battle” death flag, love triangle tension, stepping into destiny

like i keep saying Minato isn't just determined…

like i keep saying Minato isn't just determined he is also freakin patient - i don't know how he can keep calm in the presence of Wataru acting like a skittish animal that's about to boult t any moment. it's giving me a rash just watching his behavior. very uncomfortable & irritable. i know i wouldn't be able to put up with this type of behavior - cause regardless of why Wataru is being this jittery, as he almost never voices his inner fears it comes off like he is scared Minato is gonna jump or corner him into something he doesn't want or isn't ready for - either way it's like Minato is the big-bad-wolf & this would really piss me off. given how understanding & considerate Minato is being of this insecure fool

Battle of Luochengg Battle Sequence

Another Epic battle scene of the series. Prince CX /Heir Apparent SYQ vs Xie/He army + CY makeshift troops. Yes I called it makeshift troops cuz they are just gang memberedwith some fighting skills. Then she knocked out fighting General in the name of savings his life. Then enter battlefield, took SYQ ended as costing Mandi life,.Then as usual, confrontation with Lord CX costing Xie Wu career BUT killed the most legendary rebel prince all alone at the end .And boom SYQ slip fro XZ in expense of his General . And Poor General He died alone over city wall. It's a very messy writing ,I can say it's the worse writing throughout the whole drama .The choreography for fighting scene is still great and CY fight is believable but the whole battle sequence is hard to follow like I don't know what's going on in first watch. The editing is choppy and let alone other characters, CY characters is butchered to the point of Mary Sue FL and borderline unlikeable character in one stroke. The only redeeming scene for this episode is CY weeping for lost solders or may be for her family past .For me she is completely accountable for Mandi dead, Xie Wu injury and LHA hatred in expense of her own military merits. (I know it's war, dead and injuries are inevitable 🤪)I never forgive the script writer for this epi. Actually, the second arc is already messy and the last 3 episodes can't stop the train wreck.Hope the last palace arc can deliver but very bad news is all episodes are leaked which means the remaining 10 epi will be hit or miss, let's wait and see as a viewer who has Kiwi, we TV and Netflix subscription . Give this episode rating 10 to honor my poor soul😭🤣

i am impressed by Minato, he isn't gonna give up or dance around the bush - he made his feelings very clear - there aint a vague word uttered & the more Wataru tries to keep platonic distance between them, that doesn't deter Minato. he keeps chipping at Wataru's walls. my hats off to his fighting spirit i wouldn't be working this hard for someone that is fighting me this hard. they need to communicate, then just brush the subject off - but Wataru is the one that's running & he will not get roped into a conversation that could change his mind. the way he is acting i am starting to wonder if he wouldn't rather break off the relationship they have, then get into one that might end -

Really good ep

Episode 3 of Girl From Nowhere: The Reset was very engaging and kept my attention from beginning to end. I liked how the story became more intense, with scenes that built curiosity and created a strong sense of tension. The characters also felt more interesting in this episode, especially because of the choices they made and the conflicts that started to unfold. It balanced emotion, mystery, and plot development really well, and it definitely made me want to watch the next episode next week!!

still exceeding expectations!! 2nd battle journey

this masterpiece still doesn't disappoint! still exceeding expectations! In this episode, FCY's second big battle is even better than the first. the imagery and 'coming-of-age ' moment where she is literally becoming/integrating everything she is in her last blow to kill the enemy! one incredible moment:the reflection in the enemy's eye was such a powerful moment, and very emotional ! a cinematographic brillant moment is when we see parallels with her father's bond displayed like that 🥹...Also, we are seeing FCY's at her worst mental state probably in ep30, TWX is extraordinary in how she's acting! I also really enjoyed how we see more details of XZ's skills!! PACE OF THE SHOW: the balance and pace of the show is changing, it is still very enjoyable. i find the time given for our main couple is fair and secondary characters moments are also very interesting because the whole cast is great and the characters have enough depth and nuance to fascinate us! (not always in a good way ) LI: worth mentioning, is the evolution of wenkan, where , in this episode, we see him at a huge crossroads in his journey and i'm excited to see how he will navigate his path moving forward!! some inconsistencies about some characters appearance are there but it's not bothersome enough for me...

before starting this, i read a comment that said this series might have been better with half the episode count & having watched this ep i get where they were coming from. this whole ep was unnecessary fluff. the only part relevant to further the plot was a sec before the end - like WTF?!?? why??? *********************************************************************************& it's not the i suffered through the cute session with Yorihito's son (Photo studio manager) heck he was more mature & candid about his feelings. unlike Wataru - who surprised me when he confessed at the end - finally progress. but this only the 3rd ep & i feel this frustrated with Wataru's behavior with the 1 step foward 10 steps back. that idk how ima reach the end of this. oh well lets power through lol

Past brought to light

Did not expect this to be the death knell of Bai MuRan. YuCi was the mirror of LiangLiang in her unmasking of Bai MuRan’s misdeeds. She was as brutal with him as LiangLiang was with YuCi’s dad. She predicted all too accurately how his family and work colleagues would desert him. And this was only for the financial transgressions. They don’t even know about the knife stabbing yet. She was well ahead of the game having a watch to sound her location and that she needed help. Chen Mo found her quicker and gets her to the ER. She survived the stabbing but now is in a hysterical coma due to a psychological shock where she chooses to not wake up. I see Jiang as a refined version of LiangLiang. He is as brutal in his clawing to the top but he is not as wreckless with the exception of Chen Xi. He meets LiangLiang in his favorite noodle place and he reminds her how things can be kept or erased in a beat if no longer needed. While giving her this lesson on her shortcomings, he shows her the listening device she had planted in his office. She finally is bold enough to fire a round back. She reminds him that he may become the next bowl of noodles and whose bowl would he be in? YuCi has now become noticed by the elder Li and gma Bai. One will be thankful and one will have a serious grudge. These are bigger players and there is no telling where this round will lead. Liang Liang trashes her Lego dream and leaves with luggage. There is no telling what’s next on her agenda. Chen Mo has stayed by YuCi’s side and telling her to want to wake up after a good rest. Her mom is being made aware of her condition. All her family is in hospital and I’m hoping Chen Mo will continue to look after them. YuCi has a target on her back from much bigger sources than MuRan and LiangLiang. Here I wonder if Liang Liang will team up with the Gma and be responsible for getting YuCi back in hospital because Rao the fool left YuCi entrusted to LiangLiang. This next round is going to be on a whole other level.

sadly i was right Wataru is gonna be the main obstacle, cause Minato is dropping hints the size of elephants that he see Wataru as more then just a good friend. but Wataru keeps fighting it with all his might thinking it's all in his head. idk what friends r like in Japan but no matter how close u r i have yet to propose to any one of my female friends - even jokingly. but Wataru is clueless - frustrating to watch. *******************************************************************************************************feel sorry for Minato, who deserves someone less dense - he has the patience of Job, i would either make it clear or just give up & move on. cause sorry but Wataru isn't the brightest bulb in the box -

Setting up for departure

Mr Rao has just received news of his condition and has finally seen what a menace he’s been to his own family. His favorite ‘daughter’ has ripped off the band aid to expose all her plotting to drive a wedge between father and daughter. He had a final collapse where she promised nobody would come save him because he was so hated. YuCi had the debt collectors lined up and payment arrangements set up. She was taking care of her father’s debts so that her mother could live peacefully. Mr Rao is unconscious with no assurance of waking up. He at least is being taken care of and in no shape to cause any more damage to his family. Beauty Pearl society has helped YuCi gain access to MuRan’s offshore accounts. He probably helped Li Qiang steal the money or trapped Qiang into bad investments. These two seemed birds of a feather in wanting to have a place in their families but always coming up short. Whatever was in the files YuCi handed to Jiang, he handed Li the paperwork at Qiang’s memorial saying it shed light on the truth of what happened to Qiang. The actuary of Beauty Pearl Society met with LiangLiang and promised her how to find her father if she would bug Jiang’s office. LiangLiang has bargained with the secretary that funds would be sent to her husband’s account if she would get the bug in the office. There is a flashback of how LiangLiang framed and blackmailed Professor Han to get into his class. He resigned and YuCi was left wondering how such a nice man could be guilty of such an offense. LiangLiang contacted the actuary who warned her her past may not be what she expected. She received the keys to number 27 and found herself in YuCi’s home. She saw the board with all the detailed data about YuCi’s findings while in hospital. LiangLiang gets a video call from her ‘father’. After she demanded to know why she was never contacted, she learned he was not her biological dad. She was a kidnapped baby that stayed with him until her real family showed up. She was apparently sold off several times to desperate rich people wanting to have children. She had been missing six years and her mother finally found her. So this is why he had no further contact and with this, something should have been set up to protect the child better. Here I wish her mom would have kept him in her life since he was a victim as much as she was. This might have kept LiangLiang from becoming the fractured vindictive soul she now is. LiangLiang has completely lost it as she realizes her dream dad was simply that, a dream. The grownups handled her situation poorly, but that does not excuse her deliberate manipulation and cruelty to those she used to get the life she thought she deserved. There is going to be a future encounter with the knife and this points more to MuRan than her. YuCi has taken care of LiangLiang’s parents for the next three years and says she will be gone for an extended trip. She has given her resignation letter to Jiang and told Yu that he and Ren will be in charge as they should be. She tried to visit Chen Mo at their favorite fruit stall but he wasn’t there. We see a very sweet scene with her and Nuan drawing Chen Mo a bday picture. It is becoming more clear that it was most likely his parents killed in that factory fire. I will really hate it if they make him an enemy in disguise.

given all the comments, i didn't have…

given all the comments, i didn't have high hopes for this, was even wondering if i should... as i was waiting for this to get completed & then the negativity made me 2nd guess... but whatever - cute 1st ep, even though it's obvious to anyone that both leads r in-love/infatuated/crushing on each other. **********************************************************************************Minato fell for or started developing feelings for Wataru the sec he gave him his album & his heart was in his eyes every time he looked at Wataru - heck he couldn't see anything else, when Wataru was with him. u need to be blind deaf & dumb to not catch on & ironically that's exactly what Wataru is, i guess. as he only realized his feeling on Minato's 20th birthday & from then onwards, he kept convincing himself that all he feels is intense friendship - ok. but what can u expect form a guy acting like a child, trying to fight food with a fork when u need a spoon to do the job?!? *******************************************************i haven't a clue how the rest of this unfolds, but have a feeling that Wataru is gonna be the main obstacle, with the mains becoming more then just friends.

She Won the Battle but Lost a Piece of Everything

This episode really feels like a rollercoaster that forgot to warn you about the sudden drops, because episode 30 delivers some sky high battlefield moments but also some head scratching cuts that pulled me out of the immersion. On the bright side, Chang Yu absolutely owns the battlefield with her charisma and presence, like she really clocked in as General Fan and said main character energy only, but then we get that moment where she asks Ji Yuan Bao to knock out Li Huai An and I just… girl, what. I understand the intention, wounded man, needs rest, noble idiocy activated, but this is a battlefield, not a wellness retreat, and Li Huai An is a commandant who lives and breathes war, so knocking him out “for his own good” feels more selfish than noble, especially since she already pulled a similar stunt on Xie Zheng before. Let the man decide his own fate. To make it worse, the show skips from war starting straight to Li Huai An being injured and exhausted, which feels like we missed a whole chapter of context that would have made everything hit harder. Still, the episode quickly redeems itself when we finally get husband and wife fighting side by side, and that exchange where Xie Zheng tells Chang Yu to stay behind him only for her to challenge him on who takes down Lord Changxin or Sui Yuan Qing had my adrenaline spiking. His little smirk watching her wield the blade he made was basically “that’s my girl” in silent mode, and even though he leaves, assigning Xie Wu to guard her shows that perfect mix of worry and trust. Things take a tragic turn when Chang Yu fails to take down Sui Yuan Qing and gets distracted, leading to Man Di’s death, and while the emotional weight lands, the logic kind of trips because the whole squad just… mourns in the middle of an active battlefield without guarding themselves. Cinematically, it delivers emotional pain really well, very tragic, and feels very heavy. Logically, plot armor doing overtime. But then comes the absolute highlight, Chang Yu versus Lord Changxin, and wow, she understood the assignment. Stepping in for Xie Zheng, nearly getting taken out if not for Xie Wu’s save, then pulling from everything Xie Zheng and General He taught her plus her own pig butchering instincts to finally take him down, it was powerful, raw, and insanely satisfying. Tian Xi Wei’s performance here was fire, every expression, every movement, the choreography, the camera angles, the OST, all of it came together like a perfect storm. And that final touch, Lord Changxin’s dying gaze with the vision of her father, next to her, pushing the blade further, that scene hit different, like straight to the soul. Which is why the immediate cut to Chang Yu being treated by Qi Shu felt like someone turning off the music mid chorus, because where is my victory moment, where is the battlefield reaction, let her have her glory pose please, even if her expression will be tragic and sad. Back in the aftermath, Li Huai An being genuinely angry and saying he wishes they never met after delivering General He’s final letter was painful in a quiet, sinking way, like we all knew that ship was not sailing but watching it officially sink still hurts. Chang Yu learning about her father being labeled a traitor adds another emotional punch, and Tian Xi Wei really sold that fragile, shaken look, like a scared kitten trying to stay strong. Xie Zheng showing up to comfort her during her nightmare and their conversation about the incident from 17 years ago feels like the calm before a very loud storm, because you can just sense the incoming misunderstandings brewing. I am not ready, I am stressed, and yet I will absolutely be seated for whatever chaos comes next.

WHY HIM HMMMM?

I'm trying to wrap my head around this new trend of writers giving us loveable characters just to kill them off. Yes there will be casualties but like come on man at least ground it in logic
