First ImpressionThis episode balanced emotional reunions, dark villain moments, and a bit of unexpected comedy.Episode ThoughtsWith her identity still unconfirmed, the FL is detained and forced to work moving stones to pay her way. Everyone assumes she won’t be able to handle the labour, so she’s paired with an older gentleman. What makes the situation hilarious is that the two of them end up having a heart-to-heart conversation, with the FL speaking about the ML as if he’s already dead. Meanwhile the old man talks about the amazing disciple he once had… and neither of them realises they’re talking about the same person. The FL also reunites with the thug boys, and the moment is surprisingly emotional. She has to break the devastating news about what happened back home. It’s clear she sees them as family now and wants nothing more than for them to return safely.Meanwhile Qin Min’s storyline continues to show just how cruel he truly is. We see the backstory of how he and Manager Yu first met—she saved him, only for him to repay that kindness with manipulation and cruelty. Qin Min’s brutality reaches another level when Yu Bao Er witnesses him beating a maid to death. The nanny later brings Fan Changning to be Bao Er’s playmate, giving the children a brief moment of happiness before they’re cruelly separated again. Manager Yu tries to maintain the illusion of normalcy for the children while secretly planning their escape. On the political side, the ML is quietly plotting how to retrieve his “daughter,” which is very bad news for Sui Yuanhuai. Mr Sun can’t resist teasing him either, pointing out that before meeting the FL he refused snacks and sweets—yet now he happily eats the candy she sent with a smile. However, I have to admit I’m a little frustrated with the ML. His continued decision to hide his identity from the FL feels unnecessary, especially when so many other people—including his enemies—already know who he is. When she eventually discovers the truth, I can’t imagine she won’t be angry.Character NotesFemale Lead:Even while detained, she stays resilient. Her emotional reunion with the thug boys shows how deeply she now considers them family.Male Lead:Strategic as ever, quietly working toward retrieving his “daughter.” But the secrecy surrounding his identity is starting to feel frustrating.Qin Min:Still one of the most disturbing characters in the drama. His cruelty continues to escalate, especially in front of his own child.Manager Yu:Her storyline is heartbreaking. After saving Qin Min years ago, she now finds herself trapped by him while secretly planning a way out.Final ThoughtsThis episode mixes humour, emotional moments, and darker plot developments really well. The tension around Qin Min continues to build, while the mystery surrounding the ML’s identity is becoming more frustrating. I’m very curious to see what happens when the truth finally comes out.Favourite MomentThe unexpected conversation between the FL and the old gentleman while moving stones, where they unknowingly praise the same man.Trope Check • Forced labour / detention • Hidden identity • Talking about someone without realising they’re present • Found family • Cruel tyrant villain • Secret escape plan

The episode begins with a tale of two sisters. The elder was the goddess of love and justice and the younger the queen of the underworld. When the elder sister went to visit her younger sister, she was beaten and trapped in the underworld to swap places. The younger trampled her to steal her crown and take her sister’s place. LiangLiang then revealed that YuCi’s ‘bf’ was actually hers and they had duped her because she was naive, and that she and YuCi’s father had put much effort in making the scene that got her in hospital. Rao Yu Ci should have been celebrating her biggest triumph, but found herself locked up in a rehabilitation hospital. In a very elaborate plan, her best friend and father set her up to look like she was crazy due to addiction and had tried to hurt her mother. She was silenced and isolated from visitors while her ‘friend’, Bai LiangLiang basically stole her life. She even had the audacity to quote Rao Yu Ci verbatim to name the company and its premise for existing. They stole her genius, claimed it as their own, and thrived. Her ‘bf and best friend’ plus her father’s assist made this happen and the picture now had three instead of the four friends that had Rao Yu Ci’s ideas as its base. For three years she stayed hidden in the hospital finding every scrap of information she could find on Lysen and the network of people running it. Chuxia was sold off to Lysen and her ‘partners’ made quick cash and promoted well in the purchasing company. Bai Liang Liang seems to be at the top of her game but there is always a touch of crazy behind her gaze. Rao Yu Ci found the weak link and how to exploit it. She saw the feud between Li WanCheng and Jiang and knew that was her way in to Lysen. She started a scandal with Li Qiang to get a way in with Jiang. Bai LiangLiang basically told the guy to kill himself but she had no clue what the fallout would be. Li MingXuan informed her after the fact Qiang had embezzled a lot of money and there was no way to recoup the loss. The father planned to pin it on Jiang because he blamed him for the death of his son, but Jiang was rescued by Rao Yu Ci. She had the formula to bet with stocks and regain the funds embezzled by the partner that killed himself. So when the father comes to the company all prepared to take him down, he is met with a miraculous comeback of stock price and can’t do anything to Jiang. Jiang is of course grateful to his savior and wants her to be hired by Lysen. Imagine Bai LiangLiang’s surprise when she goes to greet the new hire and looks into the eyes of Rou Yu Ci. She was greeted with the same line she used three years ago on Yu Ci—My dear, it’s been a long time. I loved Yu Ci literally orchestrating the events and playing her symphony out to the finale of greeting her nemesis face to face. Her genius is going to rock their world and I’m all ready to watch how she does it.

idk why but i thought that Po's father being sick, was just a ploy to get him back into his father's grasp - but he really is sick & the irony that he thought that Po getting ordinated for him, would somehow be enough to make up for all the evil he has & continues to do in this world. great logic - & as soft as Po is (in the head - sorry not sorry) am glad he found enough of a backbone to stand up to his father & told him to F-off. also Sasom apologized for saying Po should go meet his father, the one that should grovel is Meen, cause he wasn't just offering his opinion, he was guilt tripping Po - little wonder i can't stand this character! ****************************************************************************************************************************also until now only Po keeps brining up recording their "hook-ups" & Sasom just changes the subject - Po should realize something is up. & both of them need to stop making out & have a serious conversation cause i think from the sec Sasom found out Po was a virgin & Sasom would be his 1st in every aspect. he stopped wanting to document their relationship, he wanted Po all to himself & given his life & lack of privacy i get why. pity Po too thick to get this. also i don't get why he is so fixated on uploading his intimate moments with Sasom - kinda weird to come from someone who lacks experience

I didn’t expect how this would turn out at all. What began as a child’s tantrum ended up becoming a lesson for us as adults.

Episode 21 came in with a softer heart but still managed to leave me screaming by the end. One of the biggest highlights was definitely Chang Ning and Bao Er’s reunion, which was so sweet and heartfelt that now I’m half joking and half serious when I say I want a season 2 just about these two growing up together. The young actors delivered so much emotion it was honestly impressive. Bao Er sitting there all gloomy and defeated, then Chang Ning slowly walking into the scene like a tiny ray of sunshine, and suddenly his whole world lights up. My heart melted. Their conversation was just pure warmth. Chang Ning comforting him while Bao Er updates her on everything that has happened was peak wholesome content. Moments like this remind me how strong their bond is. It also made me wonder about their future because if Bao Er really does become emperor one day, what happens if Chang Ning refuses to be empress? Would he force the role on her out of love and selfishness or would he respect her decision? Just a random thought that popped into my head while watching their adorable reunion. Aside from the kids, we also get a very emotional reunion for Chang Yu when she meets her former debt collectors turned brothers, Jin Yuan Bao, Man Chang, Man Wu, and Man Di. Seeing the fierce Lady Fan suddenly burst into tears when she saw them was surprisingly touching. Their reactions were priceless too. Instead of teasing her, they immediately switched into protective big brother mode and started fussing over her like family. It was chaotic, affectionate, and honestly very wholesome. Then the drama threw in a hilarious coincidence when Chang Yu meets an old grandpa who is actually Xie Zheng’s scholar teacher. Of course Chang Yu has no idea. Listening to Chang Yu talk about Yan Zheng while the grandpa casually talks about Xie Zheng, completely unaware they are the same person, while Xie Zheng somewhere far away keeps sneezing like the universe is exposing him was comedy gold. But let’s be real, the ending of this episode absolutely belongs to Yu Qian Qian and Qi Min. First of all, Yu Qian Qian continues to prove she is not just pretty but extremely clever and composed. Her idea to have Bao Er and Chang Ning pretend they are happy in the Sui mansion so Qi Min and Sui Yuan Qing will lower their guard was genuinely smart. But then came the bath pool scene and wow, I was not prepared. That scene was hot. Like actually hot. It has been a while since Chinese drama censorship allowed something this openly sensual. The way they looked at each other felt intoxicating. The kisses were hungry, the touches were intense, and the whole scene was overflowing with tension. It was bold, charged, and honestly kind of shocking in the best way. Kong Xu Er looked stunning with that effortless flirtatious elegance, while Deng Kai absolutely sold Qi Min’s infatuation. He looked completely drawn to her, almost addicted, but you could still sense a layer of doubt underneath. That dynamic made the scene even better. It was easily one of the most memorable moments of the episode. Thank you, censorship gods, truly. Now all I’m saying is if Yu Qian Qian and Qi Min can get a scene like that, then Chang Yu and Xie Zheng better get something just as intense or even more. Do not rob us of that moment. I am watching closely. And just when the episode felt like it was winding down, the drama decided to drop one last adrenaline shot. Xie Zheng, a man who famously hates sweets, suddenly eats the candy Chang Yu once made for him. Then he smirks and calmly says they should go save his daughter and make sure she returns without a single scratch. That moment gave me such a rush of excitement it felt like the rescue mission had already started. Episode 21 really balanced sweetness, comedy, and sizzling tension before ending on a note that screams action ahead. I need the next episode immediately.

I don't mind Boer and his mom scene but why the mom didn't turn that around...and in a previous ep he already made the cutting action and she stopped him after but he had already pretended to cut Boer...

First ImpressionI’m crying again. This drama really knows how to pull on the heartstrings.Episode ThoughtsThe emotional fallout continues as the FL is still desperately searching for her little sister. Along the way she’s rescuing children who are being trafficked, but the toll it’s taking on her is becoming obvious. Her judgement slips when she mistakes a father and daughter for traffickers, showing just how deeply the tragedy has shaken her.Feeling responsible for her mistake, she accepts punishment rather than letting Captain Li intervene, even though he easily could have gotten her out of it. Captain Li is clearly crushing hard on her now, though she remains completely oblivious. When she finally gets a lead on her sister, she rushes off without saying goodbye. At the same time Captain Li receives orders from his grandfather and must leave to join the army. He’s devastated that he might miss her, even leaving two men behind in case she returns. There’s something about the intensity of his feelings that makes me wonder if they could turn darker if things don’t go his way.Meanwhile Qin Min continues to prove he has absolutely no redeeming qualities. He seems to enjoy tormenting everyone around him and his obsession with control is disturbing. Despite having a strong claim to the throne, he doesn’t appear to have many allies and relies more on fear than loyalty. The political plot thickens when General Hu meets with the ML. Together they strategise and reveal an important truth: the FL’s sister is alive and currently in the hands of Sui Yuanhuai, who believes she is the ML’s daughter. Even more heartbreaking is the revelation that the FL’s parents likely took their own lives to protect their daughters after General Hu discovered them, fearing the Prime Minister would send men after them.As if things weren’t already cruel enough for the FL, she gets caught up in yet another incident when a spy being chased ends up in her camp. She deals with the situation… only to end up taken into custody herself. And then comes the moment I nearly forgot — the ML receives a package from the FL containing divorce papers. Which is ironic considering he had already planned to leave her anyway, yet he’s still furious about it. The man protests far too much.At this point it genuinely feels like the FL cannot catch a break.Character NotesFemale Lead:She continues to carry the emotional weight of everything that has happened. Her determination to save her sister and protect others is admirable, but the trauma is clearly affecting her judgement.Male Lead:Still several steps ahead politically, quietly plotting strategy with General Hu. The contrast between his calculated mind and the FL’s emotional journey is becoming more noticeable.Captain Li:Our boy is down bad. His feelings are obvious now, but there’s a hint that this devotion could become complicated if things don’t go the way he hopes.Qin Min:Still irredeemably cruel. The fact that he terrorised his own child says everything about the kind of man he is.Final ThoughtsAnother emotionally heavy episode that deepens both the personal tragedy and the political intrigue. The revelations about the FL’s family and her sister raise the stakes even higher. I’m both excited and terrified to see what happens next.Favourite MomentThe strategy meeting between ML and General Hu, where we finally learn the truth about the FL’s sister and her parents.Trope Check • Searching for a lost sibling • Political scheming • Devoted second male lead • Hidden identities and secret lineage • Divorce papers / separation trope • Heroine who refuses to give up

Episode 20 really said “goodbye fluff, hello battlefield feelings.” We open with a brutal reminder that time moves fast in this era, because Chang Yu has already spent an entire month searching for Chang Ning with zero luck. A whole month! With war raging in the background and human trafficking rising like the worst kind of trend, Chang Yu spends her days roaming around trying to rescue victims while secretly hoping her little sister might be among them. I don’t know if it’s the plot, the bleak scenery, or that gloomy color grading, but the opening stretch felt like someone dimmed all the lights in the drama. The warmth we were swimming in earlier is gone, replaced by war, blood, and separation. It honestly felt depressing in that quiet, heavy way. But then the episode throws us some very delicious Chang Yu and Li Huai An moments and suddenly my mood went from “oh no” to “oh hello there.” Previously I thought Li Huai An only saw her as a friend or maybe a little sister type, but episode 20 is clearly the beginning of a feelings upgrade patch. The way he looked at her when she broke down from frustration and sadness over failing to find Chang Ning was so gentle it almost melted my screen. That gaze had everything in it: admiration, concern, empathy, and the silent promise of “I wish I could fix this for you.” And then came the golden scene. Chang Yu drops her bundle, Li Huai An picks it up, and boom, he finds the divorce paper between her and Xie Zheng. The man tried to keep it subtle but excuse me sir, I SAW THAT SMILE. It was a tiny, lowkey smirk but it screamed “so you’re single now?” I was fangirling so hard. Li Huai An immediately trying to keep Chang Yu nearby by offering her a place to stay, and then hesitating to leave for the front lines the next day because he wanted to help her search, had me internally screaming. I love it when men fall for my girl, what can I say. The more the merrier. Please line up. And yes, I am absolutely waiting for jealous Xie Zheng moments like they are snacks. Speaking of the man himself, Xie Zheng also receives the divorce paper and wow, the annoyance was real. We finally got that iconic angry, obsessive Zhang Ling He expression and I was living for it. At the same time, he learns that Sui Yuan Qing abducted Chang Ning because they assumed she was his daughter, when in reality she is his sister in law. I don’t know why but I find Xie Zheng and Chang Ning’s brother sister dynamic ridiculously cute, so now I’m very invested in his inevitable rescue mission. What I liked was how calm and composed he stayed while processing the news. He handled it with strategy rather than panic. Although let’s be honest, if the kidnapped one were Chang Yu, he would probably storm the enemy camp like a one man army. I also loved the clever move where he asked General He to spread the rumor that Chang Ning is his daughter so Sui Yuan Qing will think she is an important hostage and won’t harm her. Smart king behavior. So even though the episode starts in a pretty gloomy place, I’m actually enjoying the parallel plotlines a lot: Chang Yu and Li Huai An slowly building tension while Xie Zheng prepares to save Chang Ning. The only part that left me scratching my head was the ending, where General He’s man suddenly tries to take Chang Yu into custody. I’m not sure if that was part of some bigger plan or if things are about to spiral into another layer of chaos, but either way episode 20 definitely shifted the drama into its darker arc while sprinkling just enough romantic tension to keep my fangirl heart fully operational.
