Worth the noise

Be My Angel comes in hot with one very specific problem: the sound effects. It's a lot. Like, a LOT. Heavy-handed doesn't even cover it. It honestly feels like you're sitting next to someone playing Sonic the Hedgehog. Distracting enough to make you check out before the show even gets a real chance. But if you can push through? There's actually a really cute series hiding underneath all that noise.Jane is a brat. Pretty, but mean as hell. Her character hasn't won me over yet, but we're only two episodes in so I'll give it time. What I can't fully get behind yet is the whole "who is Z?" mystery. The pull to find out just isn't landing for me so far. That said, we got a kiss in episode 2 👏🏾 and honestly? I like it. It's cute, it's early, and the potential is definitely there.

Came for the Masc Rep Stayed for the Cuteness

This rom com fantasy has premium production value and a solid first episode that exceeded my expectations. The outfit design is brilliant. Thematic without being overt and costume-y. Z arrives dressed in a stylish yet angelic white jean jacket, while the villain is clad in devilish red boots. Love that attention to detail. We're introduced to Jane, a very naive, dramatic, and impatient girl whose expectations are a bit too high. I have a feeling this heaven-sent angel will ground her, ironically. And Z? Naive in her own innocent way, knows just about nothing, and it's pretty cute ngl. This series is even cuter than I thought it would be. Z's adorable innocence is a treat to watch. It's giving melting ice queen vibes. The soft sweet masc rep 👏🏾 Also love that the masc is the soft baby.Super goofy. Fun episode and a good setup for the series going forward. Looking forward to seeing more!

Marquis in hiding

Well, well, well... so the stranger Yan Zheng turns out to be the fallen Marquis Wu'an, Xie Zheng—rumored to be a ruthless and brutal man who died in battle. Half the world is looking for him! I am not sure yet who wants the Marquis alive and who doesn't, but I think the two who escorted Chang Yu back home hope he's alive.I loved how Chang Yu got so flustered whenever she accidentally said, touched, or saw anything inappropriate regarding Zheng. 🤭And it was a delight to watch how she made Yan Zheng "mourn" the Marquis. It was funny, but also very sad at the same time.

Secrets, Wolves & Midnight Misunderstandings

First ImpressionThis episode gives us more insight into the ML’s backstory and the political intrigue surrounding him. Clearly there are bigger forces at play and it’s hard to tell who his real enemies are.🪷Episode ThoughtsEpisode 3 shifts some focus onto the male lead and the political situation surrounding Xie Zheng’s suspected death. At court it’s obvious there are people who want him dead and others who want him alive, which explains why the ML has been keeping his true identity hidden. He’s clearly powerful, but right now it seems even he doesn’t know who he can trust.🪷Meanwhile the FL hears news about Xie Zheng’s passing while arranging wedding clothes. At this point we still don’t fully understand why she’s interested in him, but it’s clear this connection will make more sense later in the story.🪷On her way home we get another moment showing just how capable she is when she’s attacked by a wild wolf. The encounter leaves her losing a shoe and being rescued by Mr Li, who reveals he has been sent by his mentor to investigate whether Xie Zheng is really dead. At the moment it’s hard to tell whether he’s friend or foe.🪷The comedy in this episode really comes from the FL. She secretly asks the ML to meet her later because she “needs a man” and tells him not to tell anyone — which naturally leads to a complete misunderstanding. Despite that, he still shows up.🪷The real reason? She wants to pay homage to Xie Zheng at midnight, something her mother told her she should only do with a strong man present. In the most unintentionally hilarious twist, she basically makes the ML pay homage to himself.🪷But the scene also has a touching moment when she explains what she truly thinks of Xie Zheng. In her eyes he isn’t cold-blooded — he’s someone fighting for justice for his father. Hearing this clearly means a lot to the ML, especially when it feels like everyone else is plotting against him.🪷Just when things seem like they might calm down, the thugs return again — this time breaking into the FL’s home searching for the property title deed. Thankfully the ML is there, and we get an incredible death stare moment that basically says: watch this cripple still kick your ass.🪷Character Notes🪷Female LeadStill stealing the show. Brave, resourceful, and unintentionally hilarious. She continues to prove she’s far tougher than most people assume.🪷Male LeadThis episode gives us more insight into the danger surrounding him. He’s clearly navigating a dangerous political situation and hiding his identity for good reason.🪷Mr LiA new wildcard character. Sent to investigate Xie Zheng’s death, but it’s unclear whether he’s an ally or someone who could cause trouble later.🪷Final ThoughtsThis episode balances political intrigue, humour, and action really well. The misunderstandings between the leads were genuinely funny, while the growing danger around the ML adds tension to the story.🪷Favourite MomentThe midnight scene where the FL unknowingly makes the ML pay homage to himself.🪷Trope Check • Hidden identity • Political conspiracy • Marriage arrangement setup • Misunderstanding comedy • Strong female lead • Mysterious ally • Protective male lead

So happy

I really enjoyed every episode. I am happy for a program with very few toxic elements. Actors are very expressive and so relatable.

Up Down! Up Down! Up!

Read the headline? That's how I feel after watching the second episode. It started interesting and then suddenly it falters. After a while again it gets interesting and then gradually you will lose interest. And when your interest was about to be completely dipped, then the ending brings you back and now you are more interested in next episode. The screenplay should be tighter. Another thing is the weird BGM choice. It needs to be subtle , but here its loud and take away your attention from the scene. Overall a slightly better episode than its premiere.

The Butcher Girl Who Fights Back

First ImpressionWell well… our FL is definitely not someone to mess with. This episode starts revealing that there’s a lot more to her than just being a butcher’s daughter.🪷Episode ThoughtsEpisode 2 begins peeling back more layers about our female lead. From the synopsis I did wonder how a butcher girl could possibly end up on the battlefield later in the story, and now we’re starting to see why.🪷It turns out she has martial arts skills taught by her father, which explains her strength and confidence. We also learn that her parents were different from ordinary villagers, suggesting there’s more to their story that hasn’t been revealed yet.🪷As if life wasn’t already hard enough for her, a gambling uncle suddenly appears with a group of thugs demanding to take her house as repayment for his debts. But the real shock of the scene is that the “little butcher girl” absolutely woops their butts. It’s incredibly satisfying and shows exactly how capable she really is.🪷This moment also highlights who truly cares about the FL and her younger sister — and who absolutely does not. Her ex-fiancé continues to prove himself useless, basically hiding behind his mother and doing nothing to help. Honestly, both he and his mother are quickly climbing my villain list. And let’s not forget the village granny who clearly needs some karma too.🪷Because of everything happening around her, the FL starts to believe the only way to protect herself and her sister is by getting married. Everything points toward asking the ML, but her past experience with her ex-fiancé makes her hesitant and unsure.🪷In a quiet but meaningful moment, the ML overhears her talking to the pigs about her situation. When he later sees her, he promises that he will marry her. Considering everything she’s done to protect him, it really does feel like the least he can do.🪷Character Notes🪷Female LeadEven more impressive in this episode. Strong, skilled in martial arts, fiercely protective of her sister, and clearly someone who refuses to be bullied.🪷Male LeadObservant and thoughtful. He doesn’t miss much and his decision to promise marriage shows that he recognizes everything she’s done for him.🪷Ex-Fiancé & His MotherStill firmly in the “irritating and cowardly” category. The ex-fiancé being a complete mummy’s boy makes him even more frustrating.🪷Village CharactersSome clearly support the FL, while others (looking at you, village granny) are stirring trouble and deserve a little karma.🪷Final ThoughtsA really satisfying second episode that deepens the FL’s character and gives us some great action moments. The promise of marriage between the leads also moves the story forward in an interesting way.🪷Favourite MomentThe FL beating up the thugs sent by her gambling uncle. That scene perfectly shows that she is absolutely not someone to underestimate.🪷Trope Check • Hidden martial arts skills • Strong female lead • Gambling relative causing trouble • Trash ex-fiancé • Marriage of convenience setup • Protective male lead • Village gossip

everyone loved this ep - me not so much.. why we need any drama?!? this was smooth sailing & i was so there for it. as is their impending separation was enough drama for me. & Toma's father is giving some major shady vibes - his brother is goofy & funny. but the father, looks like he is up to something - the question is what & the bigger question how is it gonna effect/hurt the couple.

idk if i am more confused or annoyed by this…

idk if i am more confused or annoyed by this ep, if this BL is trying to comment on the entertainment industry & the fabrication of both scandals & good deeds to control public image/reputation.... as this not a documentary, but about a character's life - i don't get Yo Ki's defeatist attitude from the start of this BL. ************************************************************************i get that he didn't want to come out (cause he knew how the "public" would react), as even if he cleared his name in regards to the D-list actresses, he would still "lose face" cause he was gay - basically jumping from the frying pan into the fire. so he went along with that manager & hid. but after the manager found a way to exposé her, he chose the high road just wanting to put the whole issue behind him. even after the mess with the villager's he chose to take the blame in-stead of trying to fight, same with the manager. he keeps bowing out & letting people walk all over him & i don't get this behavior, not when acting is his way of supporting himself & no matter how much money he has, am sure he not that rich that he can retire - which is more or less how he behaved by the end - i can't understand what the point of the story is??? just give up & karma will "take care" of the "bad guys"?!? really??? plz - **************************************************************************************************************** the fact the manager & the D-list actresses got exposed was cause of curious netizens (that started to wonder after Yo Ki came out) not cause they care about him - **********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************also i kinda didn't care to see Yang Meng after he said goodbye to his grandmother, what was the point? waste of screen time IMO - *************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************ironic that the couple that is shining in this BL r the 2nd couple, that almost didn't have any screen time, yet here they at the stage of meeting the family. cute how in-love both r.

A plan to keep the house

Chang Yu is such a badass!!! Single-handedly kicking the butts of four men. 💪🤩Ning is such a sweetie pie and she must be protected at all costs! And the elder couple are golden!!!! They are the best matchmakers and not shy to talk about Zheng's "parts". Love it!!I cannot wait for their wedding and marriage. So excited for the upcoming episodes!!!And the white hawk just observes them... hmm... what's the significance of that bird? 🤔

Loved the atmosphere and the scenery. I am intrigued and wanna see more!

First of all, I must praise the beautiful scenery and music—they are truly captivating. I’ve always loved a snowy winter, and the setting fits the story beautifully. There wasn't much opportunity to catch the full chemistry levels of our leads yet, but the sparks are definitely there. I loved how diverse the episode was—there were plenty of funny, sad, and tense moments—enough to draw a viewer in!However, despite this being only the first episode, I’ve already pinned a few questions I want answers to:1. Is Yan Zheng a deserter, and is that why he’s running and hiding?2. Who sent him that message with the white hawk?3. Who are those men in white coats chasing our ML?4. Was he near death because of the battle in his memories, or is there another reason?I loved Chang Yu’s braids! They were simple and perfect for the northern atmosphere and her lifestyle. I really hope she gets her mother’s hairpin back soon! I could sense how hard it was for her to part with it.Overall, I am already intrigued and want to watch the next episode! And, of course, I’m excited to see Zhang Linghe as a lead, as I’ve only seen him as a secondary character before.
