Emancipation

Yibo has mortgaged the house and new debt collectors are planning to tear it down. Tang decides to give him the deed. When Xun asks her why and she says he’s worth more.❤️ His eyes, so beautifully expressed the astonishment and appreciation that someone thought he had value. In 2026 Heitang was found submerged in water. Cheng immediately thinks it’s Nian’s dad. There is a picture of a man in the car with her. But nobody knows who he is. Tang makes her dad a deal he can’t refuse. He grants her emancipation from him with signature and fingerprint contract, and she gives him deed to house. She leaves it all except Gma’s ashes and her books. At school, gossiper has student petition to expel Xun. I love how she takes every point they wanted to accuse him of and she told them to step forward to accuse him. Everybody stayed planted in their seats. She congratulated them on knowing right from wrong.😝 She then gets in chubby’s face and tells him who really is the bully and disturber of studies. His hissy fit.😝 Xun buys her clothes and watching Hao bargain is funny. He gets the spotted dress for his girl and she looks very pretty. They have an opening celebration for their billiards place and took lots of cute pictures.🥰 Xun and Tang have fun in the rain. 😁 I love Nian’s pregnant friend. She is a wonderful character. She does everything Nian asked even if she doesn’t understand why. At the police station in Pushui they are questioning Nian about her dad. They know her birth is after her father died They got a fingerprint from her house that belonged to Xun. He was arrested for involuntary manslaughter in 1991 and in jail for 13 years. In 1991 Bao and his thugs have come to the billiards place and claimed it as theirs. Next episode is going to be bad for them 🫣😬😢Tang finds the response to their letter buried in the bin where her manager put it.

The legendary Song Jong kee 😍

I'm Telling You, 'My Youth' Is The Best Drama, Period.I just finished watching only 2 eps of "My Youth," and honestly, I'm still processing how good it was. Seriously, if you're looking for a K-drama that will completely blow you away, stop what you're doing and watch this. I know people talk a lot about the typical romance and drama, but this show is on a whole other level.First off, let's talk about the visual effects. No joke, the VFX in this show are insane. You might not expect it from a drama that's mainly about friends and growing up, but the way they use visual effects to show the characters' emotions and dreams is just... masterful. There's a scene where the main character is working on their webtoon, and the drawings literally come to life in the air around them. It's not just cool to look at; it makes you feel their passion in a way that regular scenes can't. The cinematography is also top-tier, making every single shot feel like a work of art.But it's not just about the visuals. The story is so heartfelt and real. The cast has amazing chemistry, and the friendships feel completely genuine. I was laughing with them, crying with them, and rooting for them every step of the way. "My Youth" is the kind of show that reminds you what it's like to have big dreams and to feel like anything is possible. It’s a drama that sticks with you long after the final credits roll.If you love incredible acting, a powerful story, and some of the most stunning visual effects I've ever seen in a drama, then you have to watch "My Youth." It’s a masterpiece.

Exchanging letters

This episode tells us som ofYibo’s history. He drove his wife away with his jealousy and abuse. She escaped by stealing the factory’s funds where they both worked and left Tang there with him. He was held accountable for the debt and that started his gambling habit. The more frustrated he got the more violent he became. He is desperate for cash so he knocks Tang out and is going to fake her delusional mental state so she will be jailed in hospital and he can find the deed and sell the house. He says he will get her out when he gets the money.😝 I am annoyed the gma didn’t get them away, but it was her damn house. They should have got rid of him. It is hard to believe how much of a hero he painted himself to keep up his super dad appearance. I have more understanding why the teachers didn’t look into it better. She tried to convince people what he did to her. But he chalked it up to mental problems after her mom deserted her. It sounded so damn reasonable. I a, glad Xun pounded him. It’s probably gonna come back to bite him in the ass but they have a few days to get exam out of the way and some freedom. His face at geometry problems😂🤣This is funny because usually they make the girls bad at math. It is all sadness about these kids and their horrible parents. To leave a 4 yr old in the house to starve and just run away from home. They could have dropped him off somewhere. Hao is bearing the sins of his father but now I understand his reluctance with school. If miss judgmental had supported Chadong and stuck by him. All their fates might have been better. They saw the waterspout and wrote back to the future. Cheng wants to respond and writes a letter. When he returns and Mian asks about it, he says he has to go to Pushui because they found his mom. Glad I don’t have to wait for next episode because didn’t see that one coming.

i am having fun & i am in a good spirit after this episode

I'm having a good 'ole time. we are passed the point of chef yeon not knowing how to conduct herself & grasp her new reality & we are now in the arc of extremely fun challneges to throw her into & stress her tf out every damn week. i started watching last week ,give or take some days & i was quickly obsessed & cxlammering awake to watch the big battle for the grandmother's favor & this isn't a horrible thing b ut i am satisfied with just this ewpisode & don;'t feel the need to rush into the sixth availale episode ,mostly so i still have an episode to turn to & not sit through another week of waiting. i honestly don';t have much to say ,this show is very silly & very repetitive in isekai premise but this being a cooking show makes it so fun. i love seeing her fight her way through a meal & having to get creative & also actually teaching us a lot of fun things about history & food. i stop following along when it gets political like historical shows do butr i honestly can still rock with it because i do enjoy the main episode plots a lot. alspo thisa is genuinely a really fun comedy soimetimes it's so fucking ridiculous

Time traveling letters

Future and past both realize there is something going on with the mailbox and that cat and midnight are the requirement for letter transfer. Xun has had a chat with the teacher and asks her to visit Chadong. When she first starts talking I roll my eyes and like him wants to know if lecture or mocking on the menu.😝 it is not revealed how much she gave him, but she wants him to repair the shop and make honest money. She told him to stop hiding and stand up for himself. Here she shows candidly how she feels without the usual judgment in her tone. I find that I like her and understand her better. I am still disappointed she does not recognize what a louse Tang’s father is, but she is climbing in my estimation of her now. Nian and Cheng are cute in their tests with mailbox. Where Xun and Tang are sweet, these two are like Tom and Jerry fighting over every little thing.😂 He was probably too full of himself to check his mother’s cookie tin, but I think it will have train tickets too. It is funny how Nian challenges him to check all the rooms in her tiny house.😂 Even he starts seeing how ridiculous he is being. I like her interest in expanding items to see what can be mailed. What floors Cheng is when he is taking their stuff out of the box, Tang’s letter is inside. He is freaking out because it defies his scientific brain. 😂 Where gossip boy gets on my last nerve in 1991, I love the antics of the security guard in 2026. He helps keep the peace between the bickering couple camped out by his factory.😝 Nian answers Tang’s questions and gives them a test to prove letter from the future, 23 September there is a waterline incident that even causes a new name for the place. They have ten days to wait to see if this happens. On another note, Xun copies the love letter and compares the writing. He then takes it to Tang and asks her to compare them. The signature is a match and they both see that Xun has written this in the future. Can’t wait to see what happens next.

Gang conflict

After the beatings end Bao demands each boy gets a leg hurt. Dong gives Bao their boat money to spare them. He then lets a mob come in and trash the place after taking their money.🤬 While Xun is distracted by getting beat in Tang is caught trying to call him. Her father makes her kneel at Gma’s shrine and after fake whining wants the deed to the house to pay off the debt. She refused and they collide while she’s trying to save Gma’s ashes. The glass in her picture frame broke and Yibo goes in a hitting spree with her again. She knows Xu would show up so she checks his house to see what happened. She sees blood on the door and screams for him. He has the audacity to think that’s the cutest thing he’s seen all night.😝She helps with his wounds and he notices hers. He goes to the mahjong place and confronts her worthless father, and then more collectors come to pay him a call. He is seen packing a bag and fleeing. The next day Xun and Tang meet again and talk about her letter disappearing. They decide to do a stakeout for a few days. Nothing is happening and right when they give up the cat shows up and there’s a folded letter inside the box. In the future Nian and Cheng are talking to the security guy and nobody is convincing Cheng that her dad disappeared in thin air. While they are bickering the cat shows up. We don’t get to see what happened yet. Hao promises to protect his girl. He has a good heart but hopefully won’t be stupid again about fighting. He has cost them a lot with him trying to be galant. All he had to do was walk away. Hopefully he will next time. Dong promises the teacher Xun can go to school and wants him there. She means well, but she sticks her nose into things without really doing anything either. I have mixed feelings about her character. She should notice a child is getting beaten.😝 I am also really tired of chubby gossip. He is not comic relief, he’s damn annoying. At first I wondered if he was the security guard at the factory mailbox.😝 That would be him grown up 🤣

Changes

Yi goes to the memorial that has Zhou Yuan’s name on it. Her grief is palpable. Wen knows she is there and stays with her. She thanks him for finding out the truth about her husband. I am thinking that he ran into people like Mr Gu and that had him join. He and Cheng were far less concerned with politics and steadfast in wanting best for China. All parties have good and bad. I am sure Zhou Yuan would have been less happy with Yang and his influence over wife and sister. She is young and her husband’s sister so Yi treats her with far more courtesy than she receives. Fu is happy for her. They have ‘allowed’ her to go back to her home and given her a job she is well suited for. They completely sweep under the rug that this is what they should have done from the beginning. They started their relationship with the stick and then thought she’d be grateful for the carrot. 😝 They would have been far more successful had they respected her from the beginning as a valuable asset to their organization. For Yi, that ship has sailed. The sis in law, how her tone changes from Yi to Fu. She is a decade younger and thinks she can school Yi about men.😝 she could have shared time waiting for brother with Yi. She had five years. Now that she thinks she has brother’s approval she wants to be sisterly. She doesn’t get that maybe all these things are too painful for Yi knowing he is dead. Why would she want to have a youthful dead husband picture in her face right now. She is so obtuse to how she’s been treating Yi. She honestly thinks her presence is appreciated. Yi doesn’t hate her, but she has no reason to have deep affection for her either. Yi tried subtly and spoke often of her brother and always with love, but the sis never accepted it because of her youthful mindset. She could not claim her brother and fall in line with the party. She couldn’t reconcile that and took it out on Yi. I don’t hate the young woman for her conflict, but her distasteful bossing of Yi should register how discourteous it is. The fact that she doesn’t grasp that leaves little ground for establishing a better relationship. She may grow up enough to be more like her brother, but with Yang’s constant presence and the manipulative director, the chances are slim for her. The director is still keeping eye via sis in law. She is the one assigning her Yi I am sure. 😝 Yi has requested to go abroad, and now the organization doesn’t want her to go. Wen tries to urge her to see the rejuvenated Shanghai as a result of liberation efforts. This angle should have started years ago.😝Minister Wen is at hospital to visit chief Yan. The nurse kicks him out of the room and director shows up. The director is trying to get Wen to consider the nurse. She is as good as his friend in matchmaking.😂😝 She is pretty and much like how sis is with Yang once she finds out who he is. The last thing he wants is a sycophant partner.😝 The director sees him eyeing Yi and wants an approved party wife for him. Good luck with that director.😂🤣😝 The chief never showed, the director tried hard to make that an impromptu date. Dinner between shifts 😂😝 now Qing wants her to give stories of her brother’s heroism to the class. Yi didn’t even know he was communist, what was she supposed to fabricate for them?😝 I found it touching what she tried to share with them. The last dress her husband had made for her. It was too subtle and the two loudmouths kept any chance from learning away from the group. Fu invited her to the club for a last gathering. The organization would have better plans. He is considered a reprobate because he has three concubines. Yuan was his friend anyways. And any man that deliberately chooses to have more than one woman, has already cloaked himself in estrogen storm. 😂he merits whatever hassle they give him. Yi, on the other hand did not. She was actually rescued by her comrade sisters. What struck Yi the hardest is when the local supervisor joined Qing in demanding tales of the great martyr. She was stunned that her husband’s affiliations is why they view her now as trustworthy. She doesn’t know what to do with that thinking. She is not deliberately other from them. She is just as unfamiliar with their experiences as they are from hers. Wen strongly urges her to change her thinking. He is not rude and expresses it calmly, but he is quite direct. Qing shows up with tea eggs and wants forgiveness. Yi obliges. The demanding of communal clap and the female Yang shouting makes what should have been a sweet scene off putting. She could have had a quiet meeting of apology but wants the party included admiring her actions. Wen visits Yi after the scene at the club. He finds she doesn’t need comfort and he learns of some of her experiences with the army. She asks him directly as an intellectual how he adapted. It all came down to taking the time to know and understand the other side. To not decide arbitrarily that someone is too stupid to understand. The head seamstress never understood that her skills were always appreciated and worth notice. The bosses didn’t understand that needed to be heard and understood by the crafters. Respect, courtesy and appreciation should go both ways. Here Yi understands where she was obtuse taking it as a given they knew their skills were appreciated. Her silence gave them the impression she was cold and arrogant. She now knows to take the time to ask them directly for their opinions and to acknowledge the product is better when there is understanding of what makes the work easier and still has the desired end result. Wen’s gift of the pen is like his watch gift to his buddy. It is flawed but works well if know how to use. 😂😁 They have mutual respect which is a good foundation for friendship. The episode ends with the buyers for club coming to look over the property and make bids. Jian is there and director Cheng. Is he the Cheng we know or just same name? And is this the Jian Zhou Yuan knew? This marks the end of an era when times were more carefree for the upper class. This episode makes you look at how biases effects how we see people. It filters our perception. We are shown that often the thing most required to understand people we don’t agree with ideologically, is to force ourselves to remove those personal biases and simply see the person as a fellow human being. Changes in perception can enlighten understanding from the shared commonalities rather than focus on the differences.
