Very different than cutie pie

Did I rewatch cutie pie and cutie pie 2 you purely for Naughty babe?? Definitely. I watched cutie pie when it was airing and after it was finished I had seen the show 4 times, having to rewatch everything for Naughty babe. I kept forgetting to watch naughty babe and just rewatched cutie pie over and over again (yes stupid).

After watching cutie pie 1 and 2 I was kinda confused about the relationship between Khondiao and Yi. Like they had subtle foreshadowing like Khondiao losing his memory etc but I just couln't help but be confused. Why were they married and what was exactly going on between them? Maye I wasn't really well focused on certain details but I also kinda forgot what Khondiao studied.

Anyways in my opinion this series is wayyyy more funnier than cutie pie, although I'm not sure whether or not I should compare it. I loved this series extremely and if I can be honest... more than cutie pie. Season 1 feels veryyy serious and Khondiao and Kuea are both portrayed as the 'innocent' boyfriends. However both of them had changed in this series. Kuea seems to be wayyy less 'cute boy' ish, probably because he's able to be who he wanted to be. And Khondiao is explained so much better and not just from a 'therapist friend' kinda way.

I loved the clear friendship between Kuea and Khondiao anddd between Yi and Kilen. Kuea showed this season how he also returns the advice he got from Khondiao. What I miss is the friend group from Kuea but I also realised that Khondiao is not really involved with them. It was nice to also get introduced to Khondiao's friends ESPECIALLY when Winner came up (Kong). Also surprised to see Est play his first bodyguard role hahahha. I only know Est from his iconic Mok and not On. Never expected he did a side character who was also a bodyguard.

Kinda confused at one point because they keep leaving out the part about Kuea's aka Kirin's singing career. Like it's kinda disappointing they kept it such a low topic since I'm a huge fan of Nunew's singing career. And his song ไอ้คนน่ารัก.

Extremely cute how they formed a family at the end and I was to be honest kinda expecting the dad of Chun to push Khondiao to adopt Chun or like get between Phayak and Khondiao. Thank godd that didn't happen.

My favorite this year (so far)!

This was one of the series I was waiting for the most from 2024's line up and I'm happy to say it didn't disappoint!

It's the perfect combination of angst and fluff and PerthSanta's chemistry was off the charts. Definitely one of my favorite couples after this.

The show itself has a very heavy storyline, navigating different traumas and family dynamics, which I find refreshing to see in a gmmtv show, cause normally they don't go for deep. I think it was beautifully managed, considering this is a fictional series. Of course in real life, things would and should be navigated different, but for the entertainment part, I think it gave us everything it promised and more.

The universe scenes in the past where so beautiful and necessary to understand their relationship, and the colorful vibes in the present are so fun and heart warming, I really enjoyed the cinematography.

The acting was perfect, Perth demonstrating his wide range, and Santa was literally made for this role. I hope to see them in a lot more of different roles so they can keep showcasing these skills. Also the children cast, very talented and the soul of the show for sure!

Nothing bad to say about this, It's what I expected and a lot more <3

So Expensive, So Sloppy

This was a big budget Disney show with big stars but everything about it was half-assed and sloppy. I finished it which says something because I'll drop shows like a hot rock if I'm not enjoying them but it was something I had on in the background while I did other things. For the amount of money that was spent on this, the lackluster execution is unforgivable. It felt like a gourmet recipe made at a Michelin-starred restaurant where the chef somehow forgot the salt.

To be nice, I'll start with what I liked:

Gong Seung Yeon absolutely ate. She was beautiful, icy, elegant, disdainful, remorseful, heartbroken, brave and then happy in the end. Not only did she deliver a star-making performance, she was also the best styled person in the drama. Her hanbok were beautiful, she rocked a gorgeous gown in the ball scene and wore what looked like a perfectly tailored Dior suit in the last episode. Oh and I have to bring up her beautiful voice, which was pitched low for maximum effect.

Steve Noh delivered a wonderfully nuanced performance as the prime minister. His micro expressions were so good and on point, bringing the subtlety the ML couldn't. He also looked fine as hell in his Clark Kent fit. And he had a fantastically husky voice that matched GSY's. Too bad the writing for his character was atrocious. He deserved better and I hope he gets more chances to shine.

Lee Yeon and Yoo Soo Bin were great as the secretaries and brought a lot of humor and heart to their roles. I also loved how they styled Lee Yeon in suits and other takes on menswear even though it made her look very not-straight. I was meh on their romance but they were cute together in a best friends kind of way.

What I didn't like:

THE WRITING JESU CRISTO THIS WON A CONTEST? The screenwriter kept launching various plot threads but never resolving them. The unanswered questions include:

- Did I-An's brother choose to unalive himself by staying in the burning building on purpose?
- Who started the fire at the little king's birthday celebration?
- Who murdered I-An's mother?
- Who tampered with Hui Ju's brakes?
- Who killed the mechanic that tampered with Hui Ju's brakes?
- Who was the spy that Hui Ju's father placed in the palace?
- How did their marriage contract leak?
- What happened to the prime minister in the end?
- etc. etc.

The writing for the prime minister, the main villain, was atrocious. He was a career politician at the highest level yet we're supposed to believe that he was secretly in love with Hui Ju but never confessed (why?) and then turns into an attempted murderer just because she marries the prince.

The leads didn't have chemistry. Their scenes together felt like wet paper. Byeon Woo Seok had much more chemistry in his scenes with Gong Seung Yeon which made me see the lost opportunity to at least have an exciting lead couple in this drama.

The styling for IU was atrocious. She had obvious press-on nails in a color that can best be described as three day old corpse. And the fit on her clothes was completely off. More than once she had on a jacket that was too tight and pulled across the chest (on IU! She's tiny!). A commenter who sews pointed out that her knits looked like they were made from synthetic fibers and they were stretched out at the collar. Plus the colors and cuts were unsophisticated for a character who's supposed to be a fashionista influencer.

Byeon Woo Seok was terribly miscast in this. I really enjoyed him in Lovely Runner but he just can't pull off icy tsundere. At the end of the drama he morphs into a househusband who's a simp and suddenly his acting came alive. He needs to play to his strengths in the future.

Overall, this drama felt like a big cash grab where once they nailed down the concept and cast, they just didn't GAF about the execution. Do not recommend.

SO FLUFFY AND WARM PERFECT FOR SPRING

This is such a good Chinese BL. I am in love with this series. I genuinely am shocked at how people rating it as low and boring which I totally get why. This drama is more on the slower pacing, it is more fluffy, and the second couple has more typical BL narratives of spice level. BUT, I truly love the character development of our leads which Cheng Ke and Yu Lei had. I think that China ate so hard for this show. Like I have nothing but praise because it is so warm and fluffy. I am in awe and I think I have every right to because every bi, gay, and queer men would love to have the romance that Cheng Ke and Yu Lei have. It is so pure and the development from friends to lovers hits so damn hard.

I genuinely hope people give this show the love and truly the appreciation it deserves, it is such a fresh breathtaking experience to watch especially in the heavily sexualized BL drama industry!

Seo Ji-hye and Go Soo shine in their roles as the seemingly clueless and the quiet force, like a rising tide you don’t see coming. However, him, he’s always dressed terribly ; unbelievable.

A gripping psychological thriller, albeit a bit slow. The scenes with the Sino-Korean thugs were unnecessary. But the way everything is resolved works well. The clash between two worlds. The reputation of some means more than the lives of others. And once again, we see how a manipulative partner becomes dangerous when confronted with their lies.

Hwang Se-in (with her resemblance to Kim Da-mi) really stands out.

Ep04: was that homophobic bit meant to be funny ? I didn’t get it...

Dissapointment is too weak a word to express how much I utterly despise this season.

My GOD, how our standards how fallen to the deepest depth of the abyss of the oceans. For 22€ per month, mediocrity has become pretty expensive. No wonder, piracy is back and thriving. No way in hell, is this worth spending money on let alone one's precious time. 🤬🤬🤬

I'm gonna do like literally everyone and pretend this season never existed.

Final ratings 3 (because they've committed a crime against a beloved series. Next time just release a special to give full closure to the characters we've grown attached to) :

1 for the actors + 1 for the crew (CGIs included) + 1 for the Production value. Sheepiest writing I've seen in a while. A bunch of characters we don't give a sheep about, special mention for the useless sister who basically remained useless up until the end even though they tried to make her appear useful... this character had absolutely no character. Usagi? Ruined! Wheelchair guy? Sad excuse of a human being which they dared to give a somewhat redemption arc at the end as if Arisu should be grateful for him saving Usagi's bottom when he was responsible for this whole mess in the first place.

Also Usagi... From badass climber to damsel in distress whose bottom needed to be saved by a guy in a WHEELCHAIR. My God How the mighty have fallen.

Talk about character assassination...🤬🤬🤬

Hopefully my brain will do a reboot and I'll forget what I just watched soon.

not for me (personal opinion)

I don’t think I’m the target audience for this story.

The leads didn’t have any chemistry or warmth in my eyes and their interactions seemed very much acted and not seemless.

I preferred watching the relationship of the fml to her stepbrother and sister in law and her cute relationship with the employees of the prince. I also prefer the relationship of the secretaries with each other and the relationship and bond of the prince to the young king. Honestly, those homey relationships were much better to watch than the actual romance. I also liked how the queen mothers growth and repentence were highlighted in the story. Her acting carried the show too.

Individually we could highlight how strong both fmc and mmc are. They are intelligent and driven people. That is a good highlight about them. But together, I just couldn’t feel them working.

absolute time waste

The only entertaining thing that happened was that I was watching on viki and there were live comments while I was watching. otherwise I couldn't have watched it.

It was such a waste of time. the time went on so slow because the story was just not evolving. the male lead was insufferably stupid. I felt like he's not there in his mind.

The female lead has no backbone. like profession her love every time and still receive nothing but keep repeating is insane. and don't make me talk about how outfits I know she was pregnant , but still.

The only character I liked was his brother.

The pace of the narrative is too slow and the quality of the story is mediocre. The series could have been more concise with fewer episodes. Too much of the story line takes place in the past. The FL’s clueless behavior toward the ML is believable at the onset she is still a young inexperienced woman however as the plot unfolds it’s tiring that she is still unaware of her patronizing attitude toward the ML. This character as written is not convincing as a caretaker nor is her behavior convincing as a 30 year old woman who is 11 years older than ML. I fast forwarded quite a bit; lost interest in the break up.
The last 3 episodes were better than the previous 27 the characters finally developed and matured. The messages re: parenting adult children were good in that they exemplified what to avoid.
The ages and popularity of these actors draw on different segments of the population so the hope is that they will create new audiences for both actors.

So beautful

So i just finished The Double and damn, this is very good! Many people already said it on their reviews but i will said it too: The story is almost perfect, very well written, and perfectly played by Wu Jin Yan (the FL), some episodes i almost cried. The whole cast is good but Wu Jin Yan perfectly embodies her character and her desire for revenge.

The Double is a drama who you can't forget, especially one moment : If you want to spoil yourself just a little bit, type in youtube "The Double drama zither" and watch how with such power, the actress manages to convey her emotions!

I genuinely believe Perfect Crown is something we needed in drama land.

I think many drama watchers can agree that while we’ve had some truly fantastic dramas recently ,we’ve been missing that swoonworthy energy that defined the golden 2016-era wave of K-dramas. The kind of drama that makes people gather online again, scream over scenes together, argue, defend, critique, and collectively come together.

And Perfect Crown brought some of that back.

Now, I don’t think Perfect Crown went completely wrong (if you are looking at my 5.5). I think it stumbled. And unfortunately, those stumbles stopped it from becoming the cohesive drama it clearly wanted to be.

Where it got things right: visually, it’s stunning. Great budget, gorgeous set design ,strong styling, and a really interesting foundation for world-building. A younger monarchy in a modern setting? A baby king, a grand prince, a young queen mother, and wealthy female lead was genuinely intriguing.

The supporting cast also had promise. The brother and his wife were charming, the secretaries were fun, and there were enough suspicious figures floating around to keep the intrigue alive.

But where the drama stumbled was in its interpretation and execution.

I honestly don’t think the performances fully landed. IU and Byeon Woo-seok didn’t feel like they were giving their strongest work, and I don’t think the screenplay gave the cast enough material to elevate things either. The script itself felt thin.

Continuity between major set pieces was also surprisingly weak. Some moments felt like pure whiplash : plot points and villains would suddenly appear without enough buildup, and important developments toward the end felt more like stopgaps than carefully seeded narrative threads.

I also think the drama struggled thematically. Its motives and emotional core never fully solidified. I struggled to root for anyone besides baby king. Honestly, I wonder if the 12-episode format hurt it. Maybe it needed 16 episodes. Maybe even 20. There’s clearly a richer world buried in there that the drama never fully unlocked.

That said… I still kind of enjoyed tuning in. I liked the "essence" of it. The visuals were pretty, the atmosphere was nice, and it was easy enough to watch. But once I tried digging deeper into the world-building and themes, the cracks became obvious. By the end, I was half-watching while scrolling on my phone and that’s never a good sign.

Still, I appreciate what Perfect Crown did for the drama ecosystem

For me, it’s a 5.5/10. Frustrating, uneven, but not without charm

THE MOSY UNSERIOUS DRAMA OF THE YEAR

Love, love this one.

One of the things I like about it is how the director was able to blend all the genres together so smoothly. I wasn’t expecting a perfect story, but for me, I’ll watch anything Park Eun-bin is in, and as always, she didn’t disappoint.

The entire cast, from my baby girl to Cha Eun-woo, and the other two musketeers, (Im Sung Jae) Ro Bin and (Choi Dae Hoon) Gyeong Un, were super hilarious and amazing too they were Really Wonderfoooooooools.,

This is one unserious K-drama you need to see. It will make you feel all types of emotions at once you’ll laugh, maybe 😢, get pissed, and be surprised all in one sitting.

Having seen so many superhero dramas with perfect heroes, this one does things differently. I love how imperfect and flawed the Fantastic 4 were, with 3 still trying to figure everything out and the relationship between Chae Ni (“granddaughter of humanity”) and her grandmother, I was so happy for this reunion. I missed them both since Judge vs. Judge.

I finished it within two days because I didn’t want to miss a single scene.

And now I’m starting again yes, rewatching it. That’s how much I love this one.

It wasn't bad, but it also wasn't as good as it could've been

The cast was amazing, the production was great, and even the OST fit perfectly, but for me the drama fell short when it came to the story itself.

The biggest flaws?
The character arcs were flat, and the same goes for the relationships between the characters. The whole cast had such great chemistry, but the screenwriter and director failed to make proper use of it.

They missed the opportunity to make me feel engaged when I should have been. I really wanted to care about the characters and feel shocked at the right moments. Unfortunately, that just wasn't the case.

We had SO MANY relationships that could've made this drama MUCH better if they had been properly developed. And then there were the villains. The Queen Mother and her father were kind of okay, but Jeongu's whole arc felt like a joke to me.

Pros
(+) Cast (top class! they did everything they could with the screenplay they were given)
(+) Production (noticeably very high quality)
(+) OST (the BGM really worked at times, enhancing the scenes and emotions)

Cons
(-) Flat character arcs (especially the Prime Minister, whose ending just made me feel sad for the actor who played him)
(-) Wasted potential of the whole AMAZING cast (they had a team of actors capable of handling much more complex and nuanced emotions, only for it to go unused)

It's a stretched 8/10 for me.

I enjoyed it, but I was also really angry while watching the final episode.
Yes, it was a romantic comedy, but I refuse to settle for that excuse. A good comedy should still have some depth to it.

Safeplace and green forest

Love You Teacher is truly everything to me. This series holds such a special place in my heart that I honestly can’t fully describe what I think, feel, or carry inside because of it. There simply aren’t enough words for it.

I cried so many tears, tears of pain, but also tears of love. Both actors, as well as little Sun, did an absolutely incredible job. From the very beginning, I was careful and a little unsure about the story, but deep down I already knew this was going to become something truly special.

Love You Teacher is so much more than just another series, and I genuinely hope it reaches even more viewers and BL lovers, because this BL deserves every single bit of love and recognition it gets.
