Just Brilliant.

I know I’m late to this, but I at least wanted to put a review up here for somebody who might be considering it because they are new to K drama like me. I was not planning to watch this, I am more a fan of romance, I don’t usually do things that are considered action or thriller, and I didn’t know these actors. I am so glad I took the chance. This is brilliant. The only reason that I gave it a 9.5 on story is because I really felt the last two episodes were rushed and did not fit with the rest of the series. They could have ended it much better and I’m not sure what that was about, but it was a little bit disappointing. It takes nothing away from the actors who were wonderful and a joy to watch. there were some episodes that I literally think I didn’t physically move for the entire hour, it was that compelling. I have to call out Ji Chang-wook because he is unbelievable in this, his Clark Kent/Superman thing was spot on and this being the first thing I have seen him, I am looking forward to the next show that features him. He is fantastic. It’s a great story, it follows a lot of the tropes that K drama is used, but in a good way and in an exciting way, and in a way that you fall in love with the characters and the story rather quickly. Really really glad I watched this absolutely plan to rewatch one day.

The Most Nostalgic K-Drama For Me!!

Healer was the first kdrama i watched, which was 5 yrs ago. I still can't forget it to this day, now that I have watched countless kdramas. That's how good it was.

I was thrown off when i watched it for the first time, bcuz it was the first kdrama i had ever seen and all I could think was- how is it so cinematic?
It still a question I am reminded of when I watch newer kdramas. For some reason, not many kdramas have the same cinematic quality that Healer has. I wish more kdramas like Healer would be released.
As for the characters- 🤌🤌
Healer was released in an era of jerk male leads and Ji Chang-wook's character still turned out much better than most of them. The biggest green flag of 2010s kdramas. Love Park Min-young in this drama, I have ever since I watched this series.
This is the only series with "family secrets" that I'm willing to watch and enjoy because that's how good it is.

No other show will ever make me feel the way Healer does. I could watch it twenty million times and still feel the same warm, heartfelt energy the moment the soaring, and absolutely ridiculous, OST starts blaring. No matter how many times i've watched this show it never gets old. I really don't know what it is about this show like its just these loser reporters and socially awkward thief taking down the rich and corrupt through this second rate tabloid newspaper but idk that's its charm maybe. Watching Junghoo, Youngshin, and Moonho come together to continue the legacy that their family started with this underdog news company is actually so compelling like all the broadcasts they put together to expose the corrupt mayor and Moonshik are so so much fun to watch. AND THE CHARACTERS ARE PERFECT LIKE??? While I don't think Ji Changwook is usually a great actor, for some reason he absolutely shines as my favorite television character of all time. Seo Junghoo is such a CHARACTER. He thinks he's outside of the human population as he constantly isolates himself, so he has absolutely ZERO concept of social skills or anything about actual human emotions and feelings. He's cried over leopard documentaries, he's fearless, he's a parkour legend and badass theif/courier, he can't even put together one coherent sentence in public, he doesn't know who he is and finds himself in a love triangle with himself, he has no knowledge of pop culture and doesn't even know who Superman is, he works with a woman he's never met and loves his mom even after she abandoned him, he has anger issues but would never result to murder he's just!!! There's so much to be said about his isolation like there's a reason he's so affectionate with Youngshin this man is touch starved he hasn't like ever had human contact and he never thought he needed it but then he meets Youngshin and the Someday crew and !!! Absolutely obsessed with this man and his growth and that's not even considering his relationship with Youngshin. Youngshin is such a REAL character. She's messy and extremely flawed, she's always running late, she's selfish, she's a dreamer with her head in the clouds, and she has such interesting ideas when it comes to trust. She's honestly such an admirable character, like despite all the trauma she's been through she doesn't shrink away from life and humanity like Junghoo, and she doesn't become closed off and stew in her trauma like Moonho, but she's resilient and puts one foot in front of the other and keeps dreaming big. I'm actually so in love with this girl she's so INSANE and her and her dad actually have one of the sweetest dynamics of all time. That's the thing about the show, like yeah the plot is exciting and the news broadcasts are such a blast, but every single one of the dynamics is absolutely PERFECT and everyone gives amazing performances like Park Minyoung has NEVER been this likeable. But yeah the dynamics are just.... Youngshin and Junghoo have incredible chemistry, they were made for each other like they balance each other so well, she's a dreamer and he's probably never even had a dream in his life apart from his stupid island. Best kdrama couple of all time i said what i said !!! Junghoo and Jo Minja also have one of the most fun partner in crime dynamics I've seen, and that being said JO MINJA THE CHARACTER OF ALL TIME ! Kim Mikyung is an insane actress and im absolutely obsessed with her performance as this foul mouthed middle aged hacker woman who just loves knitting and making kimbap like what a legend. And ugh I haven't even gotten to Teacher, Moonho, or Myunghee yet. Moonho is such a wild card, like yeah sometimes he can be a lot but hes most definitely an 'end justifies the means' as long as the end is doing the right thing kinda guy like really just has tunnel vision and can't move on to save his life but can you blame him i'd be the same way if I was in love with Myunghee like she's just perfect and didn't deserve any of that. SPEAKING OF MYUNGHEE! Her story may be one of the most underrated in this show like the moment where she finally decides to leave Moonshik is so powerful like he's constantly treating her like this frail, fragile object that will break at any minute and it's so powerful to watch her fight against that and follow her suspicions of her husband. Genuinely I do not know how she managed to stay in that house through all of that that is one fearless woman and her thirst for justice and the truth is so sexy really she's actually a perfect character there's no other way to put it thank you writes for the character of all time Choi Myunghee and thank you Do Jiwon for a performance of all time. Also shoutout to Teacher, his dynamic with Junghoo is so fun like no wonder Junghoo's like that when this creepy perv was his mentor and then just abandoned him but its okay because he makes up for it. Honestly yeah this show may be ridiculously and hard to believe at sometimes but thats whats so fun about it its just a good time. Also yes there are some kinda creepy romantic stuff in here but im willing to look past it if we consider that Junghoo has no idea how to interact with humans and he compares everything to animal kingdom and has zero social skills and Youngshin constantly has her heads in the clouds and is literally crushing on an anonymous thief and MOONHO like ok girl the bar is on the GROUND. Also the OST is so bad it's the greatest thing ever everyone needs to listen to this OST genuinely its insane like Eternal Love is truly such a baffling song it makes me burst out laughing every single time.

Ok downsides, the plot with the 1992 stuff can be so confusing sometimes and sometimes the plot is just ???? the end is kind of draggy and the ending is just ????????? Like idk the climax just wasn't climaxing for me but thats ok because the heart of this show is truly in all of the perfect dynamics and relationships like ohhh <33

I really loved this!

It's for sure one of my favorite kdramas. It didn't have a single boring scene and all the actors did very well.
The chemistry between the mains was superb. I also liked the parents story, I would like to have a friendgroup like them. Then life wouldn't be boring at all. Ji-an's story was a little confusing for me, but it got clear after watching more episodes.
The hacking and fighting scenes were my favorite. The way the hacker called healer 'mutt' was really cute. The ending was good too. I'm happy that none of the good characters died.
I definitely recommend it to other people.

I'm convinced there will never be a drama quite like this one. After all this time is there nothing else quite as good as Healer, it has everything, the BEST chemistry/feels ever, acting, comedy, action, the best romance... it's still my #1 drama and I'm convinced it always will be. This drama is my baby.

Call me biased but yeah I admit I'm slightly obsessed with this show. There's just something about it, the chemistry, the leads, the acting, the story, the romantic tension. I feel like in lots of ways dramas were better back in 2011-2015ish, they may look outdated now but their stories were more unique and gripping with every single episode and the chemistry was fire. And this one is the best of the best. It's my top "comfort drama" that I know I can always go back to for good feelings and romance, I could seriously re-watch it again and again.

If you haven't gotten the hint yet yeah you definitely NEED to watch it. Do give it a few episodes to get started. I actually didn't like the first episode the first time I watched, but I was definitely hooked by episode 5.

I wish I watched it earlier - Perfection

I kept postponing watching this drama as it didn’t look like my kind of thing. Oh my! The chemistry between the main leads…

JCW! He really showed his acting artistry in this one! Switching energy between his character’s aliases. So brilliant! And his styling here is so distinctive.

I didn’t like the violent scenes and when rewatching (already for the 4th time!) I skip through the villains’ scenes and conversations.

I really wish I watched it the first time I saw it in my suggested dramas!

Well, this is one of the first korean dramas I had seen and since the first episode, I couldn't stop anymore. I fell in love on acting of the main characters, they demonstrate deep feelings one for others, their personalities are very cute (Chang Wook is almost becoming my "drama oppa" heheh)! If you like romance stories with action and fight, I would recommend you watch Healer! The OSTs are very exciting. Everytime I watch one episode with the drama's main Ost playing, makes me so happy and feel so comfortable to listen (untill now I feel it!) <3
This is my favorite drama, the story is simple, but very enjoyable and I think you will like too!

I began watching kdramas a couple of years ago, but I had yet to watch Healer. And I am so glad I finally did!
I loved everything about this show. The plot, the pace, the fantastic cast! This is the second show, for me, with Park Min Young (after What's Wrong With Secretary Kim): Healer confirmed she's an amazing, versatile actress. First time I watched the incredibly handsome Ji Chang Wook and his acting is so good I can't wait to check other shows with him. Loved Yoo Ji Tae, too. Romance, thriller, drama, this show has it all!

Well to be honest I was really into this drama in the beginning but I felt it's a bit dragging in some places & hurried in others... the romance is really cheesy, Seo Jung Hoo is needy for a man working is such a field especially for his age, his character would be more realistic if he was younger or wasn't a healer for such a long time. also, I think it was better if there was no mention of politics in the story as the politics part wasn't realistic at all, I didn't get the dark vibe I used to get watching other political dramas. Everything, in the end, was solved in a miracle way & led to a perfect ending which was more of a superhero style.

Ever wandered what a middle class “Batman” with shades of “Superman” & a pinch of “Spiderman” would be like? Well then this is the show for you.

Ji Chang Wook and Park Min Young delivers, with great chemistry and a believable romance arc.
The action was not overbearing.

The quasi superhero bent serves as a backdrop for a sweet and endearing romance.

Superman as a Korean Drama - Definitely Worth Watching!

A man who is basically a hidden superhero (albeit they refer to him so much less as an 'errand boy') in the community who comes to help people in their darkest moments. He holds no prejudice and is happy to work for those who are willing to pay for his unique services. He is a man of a million faces and can blend in and out of a crowd effortlessly.

The description of the show is somewhat misleading. I would honestly say that where there are multiple leads -- that Healer and Chae Young Shin are the main leaders in this, but there are some amazing side stories that make others into leads as well. So many different stories, interwoven -- it was fantastic to watch and wonderful to experience. I was more than a little lost at the beginning because it kind of throws you into the middle of a story without explaining what the heck is going on -- but I loved it nonetheless. If you find yourself lost during the first episode -- PLEASE -- push to the 2nd, 3rd, and yes, even 4th episode -- you will find yourself so involved, you won't be able to let go.

The whole "The Boat That Rocked" (2009) concept, where people had to keep moving in order to record the news without being apprehended for speaking a) the truth, and b) their minds -- was a wonderful concept. I am a fan of how Korean dramas tend to have the fate concept written in. As in, something happened when they were children, or they knew each other as children, and later on in life found one another. This is not just action, comedy, thriller, but also romance. It's well-written, and there is great chemistry between the characters.

I am a huge fan of Ahjumma's (Kim Mi-Kyung) character, and have watched her in countless shows. Such as 'Crash Course for Romance', 'Heirs', and 'It's Okay to Not Be Okay'. Ji Chang-Wook in 'Melting Me Softly', 'Backstreet Rookie', 'Suspicious Partner' and much more. I've also seen Yoo Ji-tae in 'The House That Jack Built', and 'Old Boy' (2003). They are all wonderfully beautiful and attractive people, no matter what role they are playing. There are many great actors and actresses in this series, and I would suggest it to anyone even if you're just starting out on your kdrama journey.
