Have a good concept story at first but halfway its getting boring. Ju jingyi is so pretty but long feiye actor is ugly and can't act. None of the characters is likeable. I really hate yun xi and long feiye the most. I like it better if yun xi died. Honestly how can yun xi and long feiye live happily ever forever after ruining so many peoples' life and so many had to die because of their relationship. If the bracelet can save yun xi why it can't save yun xi's mother. Its just doesn't make sense. Last few episodes boring and forced. Was this review helpful to you?
the writer really like that the FL is ignored and that boring love triangle the story too unbearable for me I won't not recommend this if you don't like politics and wars and that fuse of who will win the throne.
after ep 15 it felt the story was being dragged . was boring and my heart ached that even being princes wife , she was only liked by one person deeply that was too annoying.
in starting the FL was strong and daring but as episodes went it was becoming very sloppy .
and in the last without getting any respect and love from ML the FL dies for him with!!

its ok but..
i totally wasted my time. the story is kinda slow-paced. on the first few episodes it was fine but towards the finale it just became bland. i found myself skipping scenes in a few episodes. the acting well... uhmm definitely needs a lot more esp the female lead. if it wasnt for the male lead's cuteness i i would definitely drop this drama. the second male lead.. well aside from the looks he cant act. the female lead does have a lot of impressive skills... a lot that i became bored towards the end. this drama is a total waste of time unlike cdramas of the same genre ive watched before. Was this review helpful to you?

The story moves swiftly with only a few slow points. The overarching mystery plot helps to keep things moving.
The lead actress is quite capable, but her character is a total Mary Sue and sometimes I really wanted her to get angry or refuse to be such a doormat. The main lead male is another stone-faced character, but his range is so limited it feels like there’s a mannequin in lots of the scenes. Ugh! He really needed to add some subtle touches to make this character come alive. He/this character is my biggest disappointment about this series and it’s a big one.
The supporting cast and characters are all fine. The ending is a bit unsatisfactory since they leave it open for a sequel and something a bit ambiguous so the overall impact of this drama is less enjoyable. So some definite drawbacks to watch out for something that had the potential for more.

Worth watching
Watching Chinese historical drama after long time. Enjoyed it even though it is not exactly same as boon.Story:
Captivating story line that get you keep going with next episode. There so many factors that will you feel of love, sacrifice, friendship, betrayal and ao on. It's not difficult to imagine the love between main characters as they portrayed it very well.
Acting/cast:
Good casting. Even though I don't like few character but it's ok as the main characters are worth.
Music:
Good intro and outro song that includes main scene.
Overall good drama with good storyline and good actors.

When everything is stupid
Watching this show was truly a chore. All of the characters were unlikable with no real motivation or common sense. The show used every cliche, trope, stereotype under the sun - dorky FL, a jealous side chick, misunderstandings, withholding information, separating for no reason, mother-in-law from hell, accusations without any evidence. Everything was stupid.I am glad I watched Ju Jing Yi's work in backwards chronological order starting with In Blossom. Otherwise, I'd stop on this show. Yunxi was a carbon copy of Fu Rong from The Blooms at Ruyi Pavilion, the same clueless turd who became bffs with a man with questionable motivations and identity. She completely trusted him and was blissfully unaware of his feelings for her while being married to someone else. I cringed when silly Ningjing had to explain to her that running around with a man who wasn't her husband was problematic. Moreover, Yunxi was portrayed as kind and intelligent. Apparently, feeding one person diarrhea poison and threatening another with bad marriage was considered "kind". Just no.
Most of the secondary characters were either forgettable or annoying. Ningjing and Tang Li were unbearable together. They bickered constantly for no reason whatsoever because the writers decided that two adults acting like toddlers was funny. Ningjing was only tolerable when she was in the company of other people. Telling Yunxi that running around with Qishao was no bueno was probably the highlight of her character development.
The plot was a directionless mess. Most of it consisted of forced tension based on the characters' complete lack of common sense. All this nonsensical drama could've been easily avoided if everyone did the obvious, like telling the truth. Watching characters consistently making stupid decisions caused me nothing but second-hand embarrassment. Their actions ranged from withholding important information because reasons, bringing jealous side chicks into a married couple's home, refusing to be rescued, and so on. Feiye never seemed to know where his wife was. They kept separating for nonsensical reasons again and again because we needed more tension. "How did we end up like this?" You literally did not. All you needed was to talk to each other. None of their angst was justified because the problems were laughably superficial. It's like the drama was written by high school students. Stupid tropes everywhere.
You won't be missing much if you skip most scenes in the last 15 episodes. The show was just so damn boring. Most conversations were filled with fluff and should've been cut by half to get the point across. If there was urgency to do anything, the characters ended up not doing it and talked about their feelings instead. Nothing made sense and everything was stupid.
Romantic chemistry between ML and FL was passable, even though romance was not the main focus of the story. This brings us to the incomprehensible Chinese censorship. Mature romantic chemistry between a married couple that goes beyond grade school antics is problematic, but Long Feiye's naked a** is totally fine. Is anyone else confused? I know I am.

When I first started drama. Coming into it, I thought I wouldn't like it because I'm a picky person (generally) and I never finish the historical drams I watch or I would just skip a bunch of the episodes and only watch the parts that interest me but the first episode surprised me and I decide to continue to watch it.
First Episode Impression: I like how it was straight to the point. The main female lead Yunxi ( played by Ju Jingyi), I love how bold she is and she never doubts herself. I like how it was a cliff hanger type of first episode where it keeps you guesting "what happen?" or "why is it like this?". It keeps you on your feet.
- Later on all the questions you had about episode one, would be answered in episode two and three.
Chemistry: I LOVE LOVE the two main leads. Prince Qin (as known as Long Feiye), he portrays a cold hearted prince who all cared about revenging for Qinxi kingdom and finding the Poison Master to cure his Gu Abette poison that is in his system. But I love how he slowly starts to open up to Yunxi and suddenly you see that this cold heart prince, has a soft side and also love that every time she is in trouble or a dangerous situation, he is there to be the first one to help her. Yunxi, I love how devoted she is to Feiye. She never once told the Queen Mother about Prince Qin and despite the threats the Queen Mother would give her about her mother (Yunxi's mother), Yunxi would still never tell the Queen Mother about it.
This drama is the first Chinese historical I felt different about and the first drama where I'm willing to sit down and rematch it. The emperor throne story is still very similar to other historical dramas but the love interest was different. It was just like a simple love story it was a lot more. It was about a kid who was tested and forced to be a Gu Abette person and the arrange marriage between those two (Long Feiye and Han Yunxi) was more complex than most historical dramas. It was a arrange marriage assigned to Han Yunxi to spy on Prince Qin but later finds out she has fallen in love with him. I don't know but this drama will forever be in my heart, I love the two main leads so much, I hope to see them in a future drama together!! ❤️

Watchable..., if you have a memory of a goldfish.
General plot was not bad, liked the medicine magic, revenge plot palatable, fighting, - everything started off not bad at all. Also liked the set, colourful but not blinding.
Bothers - some bad CGI, over acting, .. WAY too long with not enough content.
They crammed about 30 episodes of filler nonsense which made most characters irritating and irrelevant at the end.
Mr Male lead, you were okay at first and almost pulled the 'cold emotionless whatever' off., but sadly, without enough depth, bad editing and too many episodes, you. ended up as a boring magazine cover block of stupid.
Is this the standard of television dramas? where they drag the airing out so much that they think the audience would not notice the rinse and repeats .. till you end up with bland teabag of crap?
I CANT.
One of the top examples of good plot start, overkill, nonsensical bad acting and dialogue.

This is a triangular romance story, although it is clear who the heroine would choose a few episodes into the story. I think Chinese drama is highly predictable in this element. The hero and heroine would not make a choice outside of questionable moral principles.
The weakness in Chinese dramas is always in the story - may I say unrealistic. The heros and heroines are often near perfect: good-looking (although this is an important factor), kind-hearted, untainted, filial, smart and capable. Sacrificing for their love is always a common theme, and they are always faithful to each other. Life is not quite like this. Keeping secrets that leads to misunderstanding and a big mess up is another - perhaps this is a cultural element since Chinese is not a very communicative race. There were scenes in this drama which would make you question the realism of it. In this case, it is Baili MingXiang - she was always there at the right moment to overhear the important secrets.
The drama had a young cast who did very well. I must add I find the second male lead, Merxat, very handsome. It seems the Uyghur province produces some very good looking actors and actresses, Diraba being the female actress I can quickly recall.
It seems readers only read the early reviews. I am not sure if anyone would read this far down. Click the find it useful button if you do, so I would know.

Fell Flat For Me
Story: the story was pretty one note for me, and fell flat a lot of times. it seemed repetitive, and there was way more flashbacks then i think we needed, esp of scenes we already saw before. i do not watch romance dramas, so i knew going into it i would dislike the romance story, and it felt also pushed into the plot rather then a large plot point. i think the show would have been successful without any romance at all, and just political drama. it had a good backdrop of the drama when it came the palace and the harem, but they were not given the same attention as the main CP. I was even intrigued by YaoGui valley a lot, but that was also not given the same attention as the Qin Household.Acting/Cast: I knew going into this that ZZH and MR are good actors. I am an MR (Mi Re) fan so I knew that I would be rooting for him, but I expected ZZH to have something else in this role. While Prince Qin was a flat role it left me not caring for his end goal and for his romance. He had some scenes where he showed emotion but to have that has the main lead is weird since its hard for the audience to connect. Now I did not like JJY's acting. She at times felt one-demonsional. I was not sure why, but she did not feel natural to me when she acted. While she is a pretty face I do not believe her acting was amazing, but she did what she needed to do. Now for Merxat I can go on and on, since I am one of his fans. But I can say that I really enjoyed his acting. I can be critical of persons acting even if I stan them, but I do believe he stole every scene he was in and his emotions were portrayed with so much raw power, and naturalness that I felt the pain he was in. He created a character that completely fleshed out in mannerisms, quirks, and microexpressions that I felt Qishao was one of the most well-rounded characters in the show.
I do think the supporting cast did a good job (I liked the actor for Tang Li and for Concubine QIng).
Music: I can only remember two of the OST's for this show so it is not memorable for me.
Rewatch Value: I would not watch it fully again. I may watch some scenes again because of the emotional power they had (mainly Qishao's scenes) but this is not a drama I would enjoy watching again.
Overall, I think the show was too many episodes and it needed more closure. I appreciate the costumes and the ambiance the show created. I think if you are a fan of the actors you are more likely to watch the show since it drags on and gets too repetitive. I caught myself dozing off or fighting to continue an episode. Thank being said, I do believe that Merxat did an amazing job in this role, and if it was not for him playing the role of Qishao and carrying the emotion through emotionally charged scenes it would not have succeeded. The show needed some editing but it was not the worst show I have watched,

No real suspense - can't take the characters seriously
First of all, I dropped it after dragging myself through the drama since about episode 20.It has become so boring.
What I liked:
Yunxi is a lively, vibrant and forgiving character. The actress carried the show for me and made me watch on. In the beginning I didn't like her for several reasons, but either I've gotten used to it or she outgrew those reasons a little.
The male lead finally has some expressions after that many episodes. He is handsome.
The costumes are nice, they did a fine job with interior decorations. The rooms were crafted well.
I like the way they started to weave in Dr. Gu's character, they managed to be a little more subtle about it.
What I disliked:
The sound effects/ music:
Omg. Who commited that crime? I'm not talking about the Intro and Outro songs, I skipped them.
It was just... NOISE. HUGE noise. When they wanted to add suspension or make a point, it seems somone thought it a good idea to let the orchestra hit their instruments all at the same time and then throw them in the trash. Repeatedly.
It really diverted the attention from the drama to the off-music, sometimes to the point where you lost track of what was happening. The worst effect/music choice I've come across so far in a drama.
I give it a 5, because I think the other music was at least decent. But described sound/music was desastrous.
Plot:
In the beginning there was some plot, but it gradually became less and lost traction. Now even if new plot elements seem to plop up, I feel bored about them and don't bother investing emotionally.
The comedic relief didn't work for me. Yunxi didn't have enough funny scenes to make up for it and I started to strongly dislike Tang Li's character, who seems to was supposed to be a comedic role.
They kept it flat. The plot doesn't really happen, it's quite often only talked about and without finesse - no suspense, compared to other dramas.
Romance:
It can't find itself solid ground. The reasons to develop a good romance between the leads are there, and yes, there are kiss scenes included up to episode 27 and I suppose "some right scenes". But the feelings don't carry at all.
The second male lead? Nope. Unfortunately they gave him too much boring screen time in scences that lead to nothing really.
Actors/characters:
This is probably my biggest misfit with this drama: I can't seem to invest emotions in any of the characters but Yunxi. And I really had to warm up to her first, too since I felt she had a forced entry.
The male lead often doesn't do it for me. He seems too little involved with his surroundings and some of his decisions are not what I'd expect from a male hero, even controversial. Somehow he doesn't pop out, he just looks handsome, that's it.
The characters stay superficial to me.
Places where the story could build rapport with the characters and viewers are often lost, when the story cuts beginning threads of thoughts or character changes off or overtheatrically ridicules them.
I CAN'T TAKE THE CHARACTERS SERIOUSLY.
Also, lots of characters are really dislikable to me for too long a period of time. It's not well balanced for me to really enjoy it.
Rewatch value:
Maybe only the kiss scenes in a fast compilation. The prospective dragging will likely keep me from trying to finish this show.
