The Untamed

陈情令 ‧ Drama ‧ 2019
Part 2 in particular is similar because it takes place after one of the characters died and was resurrected and is still misunderstood by the world as being a ruthless but powerful killer who practices sorcery (Wei Wuxian and Naksu). Their partners (Lan Zhan and Jang Uk) are now powered up characters who fear no-one and are able to protect their loved one, regardless of their past or what the world thinks

Both have cheeky protagonists that are impressive thru smarts and/or strength. Although The Untamed has a little less romance, both plots are very well thought-out. There is just enough mystery to drive them. Both include cultivation but The Untamed doesn’t involve royal politics. Joy of Life doesn’t overly use royal politics but interweaves it with social understanding.

- greatly written main characters
- alliance between main characters
- fighting for greater good
- main characters against the world
- loveable side characters
- straight romance between side characters
- fantasy world, supernatural
- investigating and conflicts with others
- long and comlex storylines
- bromance/bl
- based on novels
- censored adaptation of same-sex original work
The whole story of both of the shows feels odly familiar to each other. The pain and suffering when watching the series, left big impact on me, i can't even explain why and how, it just did. You can find bromance in both of them, that's probably why you here. The Spirealm takes place in our world how we know it, but with some future developments. It tells story about people being stuck in a game, VR to be exact. However, The Untamed takes place in ancient China, which is totally different from The Spirealm, but it still has some similarities between them. The whole story is pretty comlicated if you ask me in both of the series. You'll have to really pay attention, if you miss something, you can get lost easily. There are lots of good side characters, which is not really common, they're very likeable and greatly played out. But, if i'm gonna talk about acting, The Untamed made me laugh by the worst acting i've ever seen. The acting doesn't include main characters, they were extraordinary. I'm gonna talk about side side characters. They weren't almost seen, maybe that's why it was so bad. Just look at some fighting scenes, you can see clearly what i'm talking about. I think they forgot that we can see them, i don't know.
The Untamed is lacking some good CGI effects, it's something that i hated when i fisrt watched it. But don't be mistaken, the show is really good overall, but this is something that stands out a lot. There's no way we can change it, let's just recognize the fact and move on.
I feel that if you liked one of these, you'll like the other. It has the same vibe and energy, terrifying and tension moments, sad and torturing scenes, but also some nostalgic and pleasant moments that makes you feel odly satisfying. Also, both of them are a threat to Chinese censorship, which led to some unexpected actions. So, if you like scandals, this two shows will make you cry because of it. I hope you'll enjoy it. Have a nice day

Bromance, Political Struggle, Romance. These two shows have unforgettable bonds, action packed plots, and amazing choreography.

Remember my xiao Gege feilu (leo si) - Nirvana in fire -he always takes care of Mei cangsu (huge). I think bis charater, same like wenning who always takes care of Wei wuxian. Both of these role-players lose their power, making their guard always take of him. And iya about bromance. Mei changsu with wangkai. Untamed u can seee Wang Yibooooo. Baby boys . Hahaha. This drama is not about romance girl and boy, but u cant stop watching until end. And u Will be replay again... more and more... (The untamed.2?) Haaha

Both have main leads with strong martial art skills, who fight against injustice and protecting weak.
Both great friendship and character developing
Meng Zi Yi also played important role in "The Untamed"

Both chinese dramas, far exceeding bromance, those are more about soulmates, who are invincible while together and stimulate each other's growth. To avoid spoilers, only will say that in some scenes of RLASS I had to make a mental effort to remind myself that it is not The Untamed!

because it has the same serious mood
like one main then is one act role will be serious and one role will be childish
but the other is be honest
so like in the ashes of love jin mi is childish and she may have i think the jelous side whenever pheonix gets over work out with her and is serious with her when it comes to things ,and also it seems like there might be some tringle of love going on between them and they always care for each other when they get hurt.pheonix is a chill and serious guy but always like to get things done even like to bebossy.
and in the untamed
wei wu xian has this helpful and careing side of him but he also makes mistakes when something happends
langwangji he always so serious when wei wu xian try to help him or ask him what he should do.
gotta that these both may have the same vibe it just that they both smooth and really good very fanstasy so ya.

sorry if this was not good explaining but ya

Great Chinese drama with censored romance along with really good males leads, emotional heartaches, laughs, fights and so much more .

Entertaining big families that come close to heart.
The way both dramas deal with family-only dynamics is peaceful.
Full of comedy.
Heart-filling romances.
Double in-law couples.

Based on the same novel as the drama Noble Aspiration, the movie Jade Dynasty is an action fantasy, with light comedy scenes that can put a bright smile on your face. The brilliant acting of Xiao Zhan on the main role is what makes this movie a worth watch. He again does a phenomenal job portraying the immature, clumsy and innocent Zhang Xiaofan the best way possible. Although it might feel a bit rushed towards the end, the overall feeling is a good one. Great CGI, good cinematography, great music and most of all great acting. It gives you another taste of the endless capabilities of Xiao Zhan's acting skills and facial expression.

I watched untamed first and then Lingjian Mountain and I swear, the vibes are so similar rlly helped me feel better and at the same time have my soul crushed all at once again

- ml is playful and cheeky/mischievous but super powerful, like wei ying
- although not a bl (untamed is based on a bl at least even if toned down), the vibes b/n wang lu and hai yufan have the similar taste as wy and lz but wang lu is way more flirty
- hai yufan and lan zhan are similar in the sense that they're both kinda upright and got their set of morals/rules to follow
- cultivation plot, also lots of misunderstandings
- fight sequences and stage design/clothing v nice
- rebirth plot element

It is rumoured that Xiao Zhan will be playing in this series. If it is true and there is also a second lead involved, then it would be nice to see him and Darren Wang play together again. The only similarity with these two series is that there are two male leads fighting for peace.

Both of them are historical and political. Both the leads have amazing chemistry. One shall not miss this masterpiece. Once you get hooked 50 episode will feel very short. ?

Hot men ?

But I like bls and I also like reverse harem, so this series is the only one I can find like that. BL and reverse harem are the only "female gaze" things I can find.

I don't know any more but I'll always update if I find out any! I am also making my own reverse harem and BL stories but so far they are just novels. If you have suggestions or want to work with me please email me at [email protected] and if you want to know thr books I'm writing follow me on social media at @erisastudies or @erisademiri.

So far I wrote "Burgundy's Fairest" which you can find on Amazon.
