MUST TO WATCH
This is the first bl chinese, before i just watch thai, korean, and europe bl.BUT, when i watch this fvcking "THE UNTAMED" i love it sooool muchhh, even not touchy bl and only hinted at but the beatifull story line and the HANDSOMEEEE ACTOR! is really make you really really fall in love.....
Oh god i want to rewatch again even the eps is reallly much, bu trus me trust me! U will enjoy it and u will fall in love to xiao zhan and wang yi bo! IM SURE 100% THAT TWO GUY WILL STUCK ON UR MIND AND U WILL WANT THEY BEING REALLLLㅠ.ㅠ

Amazing masterpiece!!!!
This is a masterpiece that happens rarely. I love the story and chemistry that the two male leads show and express to each other. The actors of this drama was amazingly casted. Everyone played their role wonderfully and they were SO GOOOOOOOD. Don't even get me started on the music. It's so catchy and goes with each character's story line. It's been a year and I'm still not over this drama. It is amazing and I highly recommend everyone to give it a try. I will definitely rewatch this over and over.Was this review helpful to you?

PLEASE WATCH IT.ITS WORTH WATCHING.DONT MISS IT
Finally finished the drama and novel.I am in a kind of strange mindset now.Both satisfied & happy/sad & missing about the whole reading and watching expierience.
Dont want to come out of world where WW and LWJ living.
This drama was added to my "Planned to watch list" long time ago.I was reluctant to watch it first because of the large no of episodes.
I was not that much impressed even after 2 episodes.only beacuse I am not a fan of action and horror theme. Thought i chose the wrong jonor to watch.
But when i started to watch further i was mesmerized by the beautiful love between the main characters.
The love shown between main leads in this drama is like thin string of zither.Everyone cant hear the lovely music it produces.
(I think i am really become crazy about this drama to write a example of zither here.).
There is no single place in the 50 episodes were boring.Its fast and thrilling enough throgh the whole drama.
"The untamed" has perfect casting.Even after reading the novel i am not able to imagine any characters face apart from the drama cast in my mind
(Its same as explained in novel) .
Acting was perfect.Sean(WW) did a perfect job.He is Lucky to get this perfect character to express lot of emotions.
He excelled in showing love,anger,regret,mischiEve,cuteness everything thoughout the drama.art direction is perfect that the scenery in cloud recess(LAN SECT PLACE)
is spectacular.
On the contrary Wang yi bo (LW) is succeeded showing his caring ,cold in surface,warm inside,jealous lan chan to us perfectly.I become fangirl of wangyibo(Still not sure i was impressed by the iconic charcter he acted .or attracted by wang yibos very cute and hansome face and acting)
Mainly he is sooooo beautiful as described in novel.He looks like a finest jade.
(Thinking of purchasing a jade ring in future on the remembrance of his character.really)

This drama has all the elements to entertain, affect the viewers.
This will be remain in ur heart as a very favorite drama for sure. i am still not fully recovered yet even after 2 week from this drama,book craze. PLEASE WATCH IT.ITS WORTH WATCHING.
i WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMOND TO READ THE NOVEL ONCE FINSH THE DRAMA.

I loved how each story developed, whether it was a good or bad character. And if it was bad, the story goes on to share why this character choose that path.
I simply loved the music!
I can say this is by far my new favorite Chinese drama for this year even though it was released in 2019. I’ve rewatched this 3 times now!

best chinese bl adaptation ever
best chinese bl drama i've watched, did not disappoint at all. different than the novel, but still keeps the romance. it's like watching a "shounen ai" anime/manga where its slow burn romance and they get together at the end, except there's no kissing because it's China so everything has to be implied. they did such a great job, it's not bromance, its definitely a romance. they're both in love and its glorious to watch. the slow burn and progression of their relationship is even better than the novel imo.the special effects get some time to get used to because of the budget but whats more important is the wonderful story.
soundtrack is beautiful too.
if you're curious about the english subtitles, viki's is the best. netflix is too censored and a lot of things got lost in translation, the usa localization in subs is horrible.

I know that countless reviews have been written for this drama but it's so good that I had to write one praising it.First, the music is phenomenal. Each significant character has his/her own song specially tailored to each character's experiences, with many of the characters singing their own songs!!! In fact, now I am listening to the concert that ran from 1st Nov to 2nd Nov. Highly recommended to listen to it!!! Some personal favourites: Lan Wang Ji and Wei Wu Xian's duet, Shi Jie's song [never fails to bring tears to my eyes], Wen Ning's character song
Second, the story. The story is decent, although nothing spectacular. Fans of the novel will be relieved to note that they stayed quite faithful to the novel, although they had to remove all the BL scenes. Personally, I am not a fan of BL so I was totally okay with the changes.
Thirdly, the cast. Wow, where should I begin..There were so many pairings that I loved...
1. Shi Jie x Wei Wu Xian: She was so adorable with Wei Wu Xian and their scenes were the ones most touching and heartbreaking. She was truly the world's best Shi Jie and always gentle and accepting towards Wei Wu Xian. When she died, Xian Xian's world ended :'((((((( no one will ever call him Ah Xian again.
2. Lan Xi Chen x Jin Guang Yao: Wow I never expected to like a pairing with the main antagonist in it. Jin Guang Yao was such an evil character that was so miserable. Maybe if at the start the person he met was Lan Xi Chen instead of Nie Ming Jue, he would never have done all the evil things that he did. Special mention: Jin Guang Yao x Su She..I have mixed feelings about the actor acting as Jin Guang Yao though, I thought he was good but something felt off about his acting
3. Lan Xi Chen x Lan Wang Ji: I never figured out how he figured out all his brother's expressions LOL
4. Wen Ning x Wei Wu Xian: Wen Ning is so adorable. Kudos to the actor for acting the contrasting personalities in Wen Ning so well.
5. The Yi City Arc: This was a bit short but good. It would have been nice if they had developed this more. I thought that the actor acting as Xue Yang had too exaggerated expressions..
6. Lan Si Zhui x Lan Jingyi x Jin Ling: These three are so cute together! It was so touching how they cried at the concert. Hope they stay friends after this drama.
Before I mention our OTP, let's talk about what I didn't like so much...
1. Wei Wu Xian x Jiang Cheng: This was the main reason why I didn't give the drama 10/10...I felt that Jiang Cheng's performance was not as impactful as I had hoped, but it could have been the nature of his character. It felt like he always had the same expressions. This was a pity as this was a very significant pairing, probably second only to the next one I am going to mention.
And now our OTP..
Lan Wang Ji x Wei Wu Xian: Wow I was blown away by their performances. I started out loving how adorable Xiao Zhan was as Wei Wu Xian but in the end Wang Yi Bo was the one who stole the show for me. Lan Wang Ji is a character that has barely any lines but he manages to convey all his inner feelings through minor tweaks in his expressions. The one where he smiled at the rabbit painting was my favourite. And they have SO MUCH chemistry. And the way he defends Wei Wu Xian!!! However, I must admit that Xiao Zhan as Wei Wu Xian put on a much more complex performance. His character was a tragically misunderstood hero that truly embodied the adage 明知不可为而为之

Spent a few days just watching this
Oh. my. god. I just finished watching it. I have read the novel too, but a while ago. Ever since then, I have been somewhat avoiding the series, I somehow hated the way they did the hair close to the face - stupid I know, but I felt like I don't want to add cringey details to the story in my head. In any case, I highly enjoyed this series, I marathoned it and trust me, it wasn't easy, as there are 50 episodes. I loved most of it, truly. But the ending really shocked me, I was blown to bits. I know they wanted it to be less romantic, make it less intimate, but that is truly impossible with these two, you cannot separate them like that it doesn't make any sense and I was feeling sick to my stomach watching them as they were in the end, especially because a the very end we never see LWJ. I feel unsettled with this ending, after the whole terrible build up. Don't get me wrong though, I feel like the series was definitely worth seeing, but now I just have to go back to the novel to calm myself. There is some rewatch value (I won't revisit it that soon, it is too powerful, but I see lots of other people rewatching immediately), but it is hard to imagine rewatching a 50 series piece - especially since along the way a lot of other characters had very long winded speeches and we all know what and who we came here for. In any case, the series has its appeal for different types of audiences and I can appreciate that. I also liked the goriness and all the blood spilling, why not. Ok folks, I am off to re-read the ending of the novel.Was this review helpful to you?
Acting - Excellent acting and casting.
Production - Excellent production with good direction and special effects. Fighting scenes were good and chemistry between actors were excellent.
Skipping scenes - I didn’t skip any scenes because the plot and story were intriguing.
Overall - an excellent drama however I could not relate to the chemistry between the main actors for obvious reasons. Not an even higher rating because of the supernatural content which is not really my cup-of-tea.

I highly recommend this show to everyone. Please, please watch it and do not expect to understand what's going on in the first episodes. That'd be preposterous. Just give it a shot. It's a masterpiece. I sincerely do not understand why some mediocre shows have extremely high viewership and this show does not. It deserves all the love and recognition in the world.?❤?
