Side Story: Super Girl Contest
Ever wonder what happened to Chen Xiao Xi in the Super Girl Contest?Don't remember when they mentioned this? This was the song that Jiang Chen was playing on the piano for Chen Xiao Xi when he was trying to win back her affection. This is the background story to the song - how the competition came about, Chen Xiao Xi's crazy antics, and the aftermath of Jiang Chen saving her again. This short story is about half the length of an episode (25 mins). I probably wouldn't watch this again unless I am bored. It's not essential to the main story line, but I do remember seeing some clips from this short story in the drama.
Story (Spoilers):
Chen Xiao Xi heard Jiang Chen listening about the Super Girl Contest, so she decides to take part in it (obviously, making a song about Jiang Chen and dedicating it to him). Problems arise in her family, them blaming her for taking a coupon and her grades. Chen Xiao Xi goes to the contest, and her parents think she ran away because of the fight. They couldn't find her and her phone was off because it ran out of battery. They ask Jiang Chen for help, and he finds her at the contest crying because she failed. They spend some time together until her parents pick them up, then she reconciles with her parents.

Heartfelt and Warm
Loved everything about this drama. It was perfectly cast, acted and I would watch it again. The story itself is sweet because you see how the FL slowly got the ML to love her. He not only fell in love with her but loved her more than she loved him. It was interesting to see how different the ML expressed love than the FL and their group of friends were just so supportive. The ending was fitting and would love to see a season 2 that tells the after story. Also the SML was just the sweetest and I have to admit I was rooting for him.Was this review helpful to you?
A Soft and Nostalgic Story That Grows With You
The story itself is simple and mellow, without heavy drama or shocking twists, but that is exactly its strength. It focuses on growing up, changing as people, and learning how to love properly. It may not be the most original story, but it becomes memorable because of its emotional sincerity and lovable characters. What makes the drama special is how the relationship evolves over time. When they were young, Xiaoxi was always the one chasing Jiang Chen, confessing openly and fearlessly. But as they grow older, the roles slowly reverse, and Jiang Chen becomes the one holding on and expressing what he could never say before. That emotional shift makes their love feel real and earned rather than forced.
Hu Yitian did a great job portraying Jiang Chen. His cold, quiet, and emotionally reserved personality made sense for the character. He was never truly uncaring, just someone who struggled to express himself. His character development was subtle but meaningful, and seeing him slowly open up was one of the most satisfying parts of the story.
Shen Yue made Chen Xiaoxi charming and lovable despite her flaws. She was cheerful, clumsy, and sometimes overly focused on Jiang Chen, which could feel frustrating at times. But she brought warmth and emotional life to the character, and her growth into someone more mature and independent was handled nicely.
The friend group is one of the strongest aspects of the drama. Their friendship feels natural, supportive, and genuine. Characters like Wu Bosong, Lu Yang, and Lin Jinxiao added emotional depth and balance to the story. Their individual struggles and growth made the world feel complete, not just centered around the main couple.
The drama starts off light, funny, and fast paced, which makes it easy to get attached. However, the later episodes slow down significantly, and some parts feel dragged out. The reintroduction of certain romantic tensions later on felt unnecessary, especially when the emotional resolution was already clear. Despite that, the emotional payoff and character closure make the journey worth it.
Overall, this drama stands out not because of complex plot, but because of how naturally it portrays youth, love, and growing up. It is the kind of story that stays with you quietly and becomes even more meaningful when you look back on it.
Rating: 8.5/10
A simple, heartfelt drama that proves sometimes the quietest stories leave the strongest impact.

Beautiful, golden era of teenage
This drama series "A love so beautiful" is no doubt beautifully portrayed by the casts. This series bring you back again to your golden era of teenage years. The friendship between the kids is really wonderful. The love, care, affection even the jealousy showed I can't even express the depth of it. True love always finds you, chase you and hold back on you tightly. The actors are amazing, super cute n lovely and had a great chemistry. Don't miss out watching this piece of beauty that brings you many nostalgiac feelings of your school days and your first love/crush. I love how the story goes from careless Teenhood to making very crucial life decisions. Some of the moment In This web series makes me cry hard and some makes me happy and enthusiastic about living life at fullest.I like the way a silent/introvert boy who secretly love & care. Hu Yitian (Jian Cheng) perfectly fits in the role. Some may not like bcoz the main lead (JC) is so rude, always ignored/pushed Chen Xiaoxi away or acted as if she didn’t exist and she continues to go after him. But it shows he not only fell in love with her but loved her more than she loved him.
Title Song- I'll like you so much you'll know it. 👌
After watching this drama somehow I got connected to it fully. Will definitely recommend.👍👌

Wonderful series
One of my favorite series from China. Its perfect for newbies to Chinese dramas, as the storyline is fluffy, cute, realistic and heart warming.
Usually the leads in Chinese dramas have a lot of misunderstandings and drama going on. However this series is the opposite. We have two main themes: Chen Xiaoxi, the FL, having a crush on her classmate and the importance & development of friendship from school times to adult life.
This 24ep. drama strong points are:
- the reality of situations when you become an adult.
- actors who portray characters that could exist in real life
- love and friendship
