REASONS WHY I LOVE HAN SEO JUN

1. he is just sooooooooo fucking fine (if you don't agree you can go and jump into an ocean)
2. even though he loved the FML he didn't try to fight for her but rather cared for her when she was in need and gave her space when she needed it
3. he respected his friends' feelings
4. the fact that he hates bullies
5. his fucking aura
6. the way he brought the main lead together (when you watch the show you would know)
7. his style
8. when he roars (oh my f*&k me)
9. and also the way he makes everyone scared when he enters (that is so fucking sexy)
Okay that is all for now cause I don't think it would be proper for me to write the other thoughts as they are quite sexual
anyway I still hoped that the FML and Han Seo Jun would have ended up together but whatever
don't you dare dream of Han Seo Jun he is mine
Hope you enjoy the show bye

Chaotic and hilarious

This drama was so funny, it had me crying laughing. It had some flaws and gave me the worst second lead syndrome I've ever had, but overall it was incredible and I commend all the writers and actors. It was so easy to keep watching, each episode kept me invested and the characters were so likable and interesting and hilarious. It was a brilliant mess and I loved (almost) every minute! Despite one or two issues I had with the plot, I still loved this drama a lot and I love knowing I can go back and rewatch any time for a laugh!

If you're going through hell, this will help you.

I've tried, in the past, to watch true beauty, but I would give up after the first scene. On Saturday night, the 8th of january, out of nowhere I gave another opportunity to this show. I have to say I'm not disappointed, I've been going through a hard time in life and this show was the serotonin I needed to get up in the morning. I yelled, I laughed, I cried. It was funny, toxic and stupid at times, but very lighthearted and comforting. The end was disappointing, I was damn mad, but I'll get over it, I guess.

D rivedere.

A Journey of self-acceptance and empowerment

True Beauty is a drama that resonates deeply, especially for anyone who has experienced bullying or struggled with self-esteem, like you did in your childhood. The show touches on themes of beauty, self-acceptance, and personal growth, making it not only visually stunning but also emotionally impactful. Tthis drama can serve as a reminder that beauty is much more than skin deep, and it celebrates the importance of overcoming challenges to find inner strength. The journey of the characters mirrors the real-life struggles many face, which makes it not only entertaining but also empowering.

MY COMFORT SHOW (aside from swdbs bc sometimes i cant handle horror and thriller)! during true beauty's airing, my sole purpose in life and motivation to get through each week was holding onto the fact that i would get to watch a new episode every week.

now i know my taste in dramas and i am always going for the one with an amazing and gut wrenching plot with plenty of various elements and genres thrown in, but i do also love dramas that are easy and funny to watch. which is why, albeit its lack of depth and in all of its shallowness, i wholeheartedly love true beauty.

i've rewatched probably 7 times already--it's become my background show when eating or when i'm bored or when i want to distract myself! and if i had the choice to rewatch it for the first time, i would absolutely make that choice a million times over.

however, the storyline is somewhat weak (the webtoon's story was better developed, likely because it took practically four years to complete and this drama was meant only for 16 episodes, but still, and also i'm biased because the webtoon did my boy seojun justice whereas the drama did not!!!) and the acting is mediocre, but probably largely due to the fact that these roles simply cannot display one's full skillset. anyway stan true beauty and cha ni's vocals and astro and sf9 :p

"True Beauty: A Heartfelt Blend of Romance, Comedy, and Self-Discovery"

Review of True Beauty

True Beauty is a captivating South Korean drama that masterfully blends romance, comedy, and themes of self-acceptance. Based on the popular webtoon by Yaongyi, the series delivers an engaging high school story filled with heartwarming moments, relatable struggles, and endearing characters.

The story follows Lim Ju-kyung, a kind-hearted yet insecure high school student who has faced years of bullying due to her appearance. Determined to reinvent herself, she becomes highly skilled at makeup, transforming her look and gaining newfound confidence at her new school. However, she lives in constant fear of her bare face being exposed, leading to moments of tension and self-doubt.

A significant part of True Beauty’s appeal lies in its well-developed characters. Moon Ga-young shines as Ju-kyung, portraying her insecurities and growth in a relatable way. Her journey is not just about external beauty but about learning to love herself beyond her appearance. Cha Eun-woo plays Lee Su-ho, a reserved and seemingly cold student with a hidden warmth and painful past. Hwang In-yeop brings Han Seo-jun to life, a rebellious yet kind-hearted character who adds depth to the story. The chemistry between the leads is strong, making the love triangle both compelling and emotional without overshadowing the drama’s central themes.

Beyond romance, the drama explores self-esteem, bullying, and the unrealistic beauty standards often imposed by society. It sends an empowering message about self-acceptance and inner beauty, making it more than just a typical high school romance. The balance between lighthearted comedy and emotional depth keeps viewers invested throughout.

Visually, True Beauty is stunning, with well-executed makeup transformations and vibrant cinematography that enhances the storytelling. The soundtrack also complements the mood, featuring songs that perfectly capture the emotions of the characters.

Overall, True Beauty is a well-rounded drama that offers romance, humor, and meaningful life lessons. It’s a must-watch for anyone who enjoys high school dramas with a strong message about self-worth and confidence.

Funny and lighthearted. A good drama to start off with for newbies.

Started off strong. It is a very entertaining drama in the beginning, and I related all too strongly with the main character. So that definitely got me hooked right away. Somewhere in the later middle episodes it does get very cliché and there's a bit too much ridiculous unnecessary drama that had me eyerolling quite a few times with how certain characters were suddenly acting. Once I got passed that bit it was back to being enjoyable again. So all-in-all, I did enjoy it and would recommend it!

An honest opinion after watching the drama 3 times.

Everyone acted well. Harassment really exists, I don't understand how there are people who still can't believe that this exists.

In a society as empty and superficial as Korea, being beautiful is the most important thing in your life.

Honestly, speaking from a person who has been harassed to the extreme, I could easily empathize with the protagonist. It didn't make me cry like My ID is beauty Gangnam but I could easily empathize with it.

There are two things that I will not be able to tolerate and forgive about this drama and they were two things (maybe they will hate me for this because everyone loves SML, but really? To torment someone who was once your best friend so much for your suicide another friend, when it had nothing to do with it? Seojun didn't even want to listen to Sooho's words about what had really happened that night, not even once. Until he accidentally overhears the argument that Sooho is having with his father, where he was able to get out all the pain that he had carried inside for years and that had also traumatized him so much.
That's why I don't have secondary school syndrome.
And then there is Soo Jin, I know that her family life was problematic but she has no justification for having betrayed Joo Kyung, who really loved her and had confessed his biggest secret to her, because he trusted her.

I go from competing with Sooho for
school grades to considering it as something of their own. As if Joo Kyung was taking away something that was never his. I really liked how Sooho marked a boundary between him and her and at the same time protected her girlfriend so that she won't be hurt anymore. Honestly, if it had been Joo Kyung, I wouldn't have forgiven her so easily. Because this could have turned into something much worse than her situation at the other school, if it wasn't for Sooho and Seojun protecting her so much. I have to admit that I really liked that Seojun will confront Joo Kyung's bullies in a tough and forceful way.

But the breakup between Joo Kyung and Sooho seemed stupid to me. First of all because she was the one who made the first mistake of not telling him about the photo shoot she had with Seojun. It is obvious that anyone would get angry, especially if you know perfectly well that the person who took those photos with your partner really has an interest in her and after you force him to hide your relationship with him but don't have any problems seeing yourself back in rumors with another person. Although Sooho didn't act well at all, I can totally understand her anger.

Although Joo Kyung did have personal progress, which never happens in weebtoon and that was a relief for me. Herself confronting her former stalkers (although the scene was very funny it was also very meaningful). And that she would no longer be afraid to go out on the street without makeup and would accept herself as she was.

The drama is very funny and everyone acted very well.

I wouldn't say that it is a drama with a very spectacular or special plot but you are very entertained. From the first episode to the end.

I really liked all the changes they made regarding the weebtoon. Generally I am one of the people who likes them to be faithful to their original work. But I have read the weebtoon from beginning to end. It doesn't really leave you any moral or reflection on anything. It's too superficial. It really took me a lot to finish reading it. What didn't happen to me with the drama, so it was a relief that many things that were very poorly done in the weebtoon will change.

I really like how light and fluffy this drama was, it made me feel butterflies in my stomach. Personally, I think this was such a nice watch. I did not expect anything at first but later surprised by how I can't move on from this. First off, the chemistry was undeniable! The leads look cute together and the friends were quirky and funny as well. I was actually not bothered with the second lead because unlike other second leads, he was not annoying. Given that, I did not get an SLS here :> The characters: although there was not much depth to them, I just like how they fit perfectly with each other and the way they get along. Moon Gayoung really owned her role here, though the FL was frustrating at times. Cha Eun Woo on the other hand, caught my attention big time. I was not a fan of him in his previous dramas cause I think he's still kinda awkward in acting but here, he looks exceptional and improved. I think because he was too comfortable with the other actors, which he mentioned in their behind the scenes. Although this drama has a lot of flaws, like how some characters went from impressive introduction to downfall in terms of development, I still like its overall vibes. I cried at times and felt touched with some scenes, and also had my share of laughs in between. Objectively speaking there are a lot of improvements they should've made in this drama but personally, I like how it went. Wishing for another MGY and CEW as lead couple in another drama ><

A decent fun watch!!

I have a lot to say about this drama!! After watching the first episode, I decided to drop it but randomly continued to watch the 2nd ep after a few days and from there it got addictive and I binged it in 2 days straight!! The drama is nowhere perfect!! The story is the same basic story with the lesson of inner beauty! What raises it to a superior level is how self-aware the show is!! It’s supposed to be cheesy and cringey and the makers know it and capitalize on it which is the biggest strength of the show!! It was super funny at times..but it was also very hear touching where it was required!! All in all it had every ingredient of a good Teen drama!!
Coming to the characters, it comes as no surprise that Han Seo Jun was my favourite character!! But having said that I would also state that as a couple Su Ho and Joo Gyung worked better for me and I actually wanted them to be endgame despite Seo Jun being my favourite character!! Hwang In Yeop gave an amazing performance and showed his diverse range of acting!! Eun Woo was perfect for the role he was cast..I have heard a lot of complaints about his acting being stiff! I can’t judge from just this drama because here his acting suited the composed character that he played!! Ga Young’s performance also was good though her unnecessary aegyo voice irritated me a bit!!
The one major complaint I had was that the drama dropped in quality from the moment Su Ho and Joo Gyung became a couple! Nothing to do with their chemistry which was good!! It’s just the writing wasn’t as crisp after that as it had been till then! Also Kdramas really need to know when to stop and not keep on dragging just to complete 16 eps..This drama peaked at ep 14 with Joo Gyung realizing her worth and from there it just plateaued and never went high again!! If they would have wrapped up the show there itself, this would have been a far better show!! Still a pretty good time!! I definitely recommend to watch it once!!
