Also the drama emphasizes more of characterization especially the growth of the female lead as well as the healing of the male lead. Editing is truly choppy and storylines of some side characters/villains were completely put aside but the superior acting of the leads more than compensates for any flaws.
I really love this drama. It gives a refreshing and very healthy take on love shown in dramas. Romantic love is not the sole most important thing. Chasing your dreams. Having peace in your heart is equally important. Love isn’t the whole universe but that single star that lights your world.

This was HORRIBLE. Some of the acting was atrocious and simply so freaking bad that I wanted to pull my hair out. The male lead was so immature at his big age (34) and just simply not that attractive as a love interest – his personality just wasn’t it. The second lead should have been it because his style and personality were SO MUCH better. Besides, he didn’t mistreat the female lead. The last episodes had such weird plots that I had to skip through it because I DIDN’T CARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, I hated this drama, even the OST was bad and honestly really annoying. Adorable story, but editing really made a mess
I will recommend that those who watch this show to give it to the end of episode two to truly decide to stop watching since the story moved a bit slow at first.************spoilers below*********
First let me speak on the overall con of this series which was the odd editing that occur multiple times through the episodes. where it seemed like some scenes were depicting future events while other past events came later that finally made previous scenes make sense. If you are attentively watching the show, it isn't to bad that you are completely lost but it can get irritating at times. Still if you are looking for a sweet series that isn't overly hot and heavy, then this one is a great one to watch.
So let me list out the really good points of this show, the main actress discovers that her "unlucky" point of view isn't real in the sense that she has amazing talent as a designer but she just needed more confidence in herself which is what the "exchanging" of luck gave her. In this sense she wasn't saved by the male lead by mystical means or anything but she did lean on the male lead in some ways to help her progress in the field since he did have a lot more experience and contacts to help her Also the designs and work she contributed was not given to her by male lead and when they did collaborate she was upfront about his help which was refreshing from other shows where the white knight essentially spoon feeds all work and the female lead is given advantages.
The interaction between all the characters were so much fun, there was alot of friend relationships that were seen and progressed with so it wasn't all focused on the main leads love story. The trauma storyline of the male lead was good in the sense that the car accident he was in and the resulting sadness/guilt wasn't overly complicated so the viewer wasn't confused over details that are far outside plausibility. On that note though, the trauma that connected the male lead and the love rival where she received a scar from a fire was thrown in so quickly at the end that it honestly didn't give the viewer a chance to understand the storyline between them before she was gone..
The main leads had a cute relationship which was full of playful teasing and growing together but I will admit this show lacked in the big chemistry that usually comes with cdramas. There wasn't any hot and heavy scenes except a few kisses but even those were limited. Still you could still feel some chemistry but if you are expecting the "kapow" heat that some of these series have then you will be disappointed

This is mainly praise for the actors and their skills
The first thing i love is the fact that shen yue is the remake shancai and jerry yan is original dao ming si i havent watch any of the meteor gardens yet but i love shen yue she's a great actress and i never dislike her characters and i think she gets really amazing projects ive watched some of them and im planning to watch the others too. this is jerry yans return to acting after like a long time and it just so happens to be with shen yue they have good chemistry and i know about the age gap but jerry yan does not look 40+ and IK! youve seen that pic of jerry yan that went viral and the rest of the cast was ok except miles wei he was excellent here also watch perfect and casual its great its stars miles wei and Ruohan Xu a great newcommer ok back to topic the bad stuff alot of people can guess but this has alot of toxic tropes that gets tiring like how the guy pushes the FL away and is rude to her but thank god they fixed that quick also the the annoying girl here is just so annoying like girl take a hintWas this review helpful to you?
Really honest review
Cast? Acting? Absolutely stunning and splendid. The drama did feel a little draggy to me nonetheless. But there’s one thing that has been bugging me, which is that I’m not sure if the drama is being dubbed. I’ve heard Jerry Yan’s and Shen Yue’s voices in dramas that weren’t dubbed, but somehow I feel that for this drama it’s being dubbed which made me feel a little iffy.But I would have definitely preferred if there was more progress in Xiao You’s career; after all it was her dream to become a fashion designer!
Other than that, I definitely have second lead syndrome in this drama; Miles Wei definitely the guy I would go for (if I can haha!)

Sizzling chemistry was the star of the show!
pros of this drama:- don’t be fooled by the age gap, the leads have AMAZING CHEMISTRY
- the visuals of shen yue and jerry are off the charts
- nice cinematography and colour scheme
- the fashion side is somewhat interesting
- side couples were cute
- top notch acting from the cast.
- i loved that they used everyone’s real voices! jerry’s taiwan accent is so cute!

i understand that it’s a slow paced drama and not meant to be romance centred but the leads got to together far too late. i lost interest in this drama around episode 22. barely any fluffy cute scenes after they became a couple. the storyline was overall uneventful, considering the romantic aspect wasn’t strong. ML had little character development until episode 34 and never communicated with the FL. i did not find ML’s personality enjoyable to watch. overall a 7.5/10.
it’s a good drama but would not watch again. i look forward to jerry yan’s and shen yue’s future projects. always a pleasure to see them act :)

Chemistry
Personally, the plot wasn't very interesting to me (and felt a bit slow paced), but I kept watching 'cause the actors did an AMAZING job and the main leads had lots of chemistry.From the first episode, I had the impression that the drama would contain more comedic scenes (sadly not much-would have been cool to play with the interpretation of luck more literally), however they had loads of sweet moments and most importantly the ML wasn't an irrational jerk. For once, I could actually stand the main love interest while pitying the second lead rather than despising him.

The elephant in the room
I don't have a huge problem with people who have a big age difference falling in love with each other in real life as long as the relationship starts once they are both consenting adults and they don't have a prior relationship with an imbalance of power, ie teacher/student, family friend ect.However, I think what works against this drama is the fact that the two leads are 20 years apart in age, there IS a power imbalance in their relationship, he is her boss, and the Female Leading Actress looks even younger than her character is supposed to be.
Shen Yue is 24 in the drama but looks like she's 16-18 years old and Jerry Yan is very handsome but he looks every minute of his 44 years of age. If he looked to be late 30s and she actually looked to be mid 20s, I believe the audience would have been more forgiving and not really spoken about it much...but the way it is, too many focused on that to the exclusion of everything else about the drama.
IF you can manage to get past all that, the drama itself isn't that bad. It has some good lessons about life, there's some good give and take between the couple, and though it's a bit too long it still manages to hold your attention for all 34 episodes.
I've watched this but I don't think I could rewatch it except in clips. I would give it a 7 and if they had managed to make Shen Yue look her age I probably would have given it a higher rating.

Something off ive noticed about this drama
I'm down 28 episodes in this drama and i like it, but I can't help but realize that even though this series is based on fashion designers, with Lu Xing Cheng being the most famous of them all...tell me why he has the same three outfits in rotation throughout the whole series 😭Like it makes no sense?! If I were one of the designers for this drama, I would experiment the heck out of his build and attractiveness lol 😍

climax and ending
count your lucky star is the popular drama hit series now in philippines. since filipina love jerry yan, and also me. thats why all the filipina is screaming when they heard that jerry yan has a new movie. at first i thought that jerry yan and she yue is going to be blast. and im not mistaken ahaha since meteor garden i like jerry yan as a main role dao ming si.. until this year he's back! all the 90's filipina is happy.. and including me ahahha every episode of CYLS is exciting.you will not notice that they have an age Gap because they know how to portray their role. they very good actor and actresses.
there is no hesistance between them they are comfortable with each other...
im looking forward to another series with them and in the real life i wish that they were lovers 😂 they have chemistry with each other. since i love shen yue because of her cute face and attitude she is so versatile in every drama she had. maybe because she is true to herself.
i wish goodluck for both of them.. this drama series will be hit this 2020

This Drama is very light and feel good. Shenyue's acting is really good compared to her old dramas. It will just get better with further episodes. Watch few episodes atleast to give a call about it.

Love this drama
The more episode i watch, the more i love it.Bit confused at first episode why is jerry yan speaking like that but know i understand.
Jerry yan coming back after a long hibernation and make such a great things on this drama.
And shenyue, i always love her since a love so beautiful.
I really can’t wait for the next episode.
They both have some chemistry even though there’s a huge age gap but they nailed it.
Waiting for another episode with english subtitle.
