To say "awesome" is, of course, to say nothing. The film is a bomb, from the beginning to the end there is complete tension. As if my body was shackled. The acting is top notch. And indeed, appearances can be deceiving. It's a pity, of course, that we were not told the story of the maniac, why he chose this path in life and what prompted him to do such things, which blew his head off. After all, in any case, something happened in his childhood that so crippled his psyche. But here we were shown exactly this moment and a separate story that made me nervous. Even now, I am writing this review and I can't catch my breath. A difficult film to watch, not to everyone's taste, but it is worth watching. The only thing is that after such films it becomes even more scary to live. But unfortunately we are not able to influence this, because psychos have always been and will be, if a person is mentally ill, few people and things can help him, no matter how hard you try. So it all depends on luck, who is lucky and who is not. But think about it, if it weren't for maniacs and murderers, there would be even more of us on the planet and the problem with overpopulation would be even more serious, no matter how much we would like for such people not to exist... In general, I am becoming more and more disappointed in the performance of civil servants' service. They simply work disgustingly. I wonder if it is the same in life, or are they at least not so stupid? It is terrible that they did not even try to understand (or did not try to understand) a deaf person and listen to her. I heard that in Korea the problem with such psychos and maniacs is very common and it is terrible... People go cuckoo not because of a good life. Even these alarm poles do not help the poor girls... Vi Ha Jung, of course, is smart. It is amazing how a person can transform into different roles. A very good movie if you want one that makes you feel tension and not get bored, then this is for you. It really is a very good movie. Personally, I was stressed out by how the killer always somehow managed to get close to killing her. It was so stressful and irritating. I was truly scared for her (so much so that I feel like you can get into her role and feel her fear and desperation too much).I loved how, despite him underestimating her, she proved him wrong and ended up being his revenge for all the crimes he committed. Without a doubt, the best thing was that someone he never had faith in and only saw her as weak ended up being his end.
Although something I would have liked to see was Do-shik's past, the background or more about his past, of course as long as it is not to justify his actions, but to see how he became that psychopath, it would have been interesting to see but I know that was not the focus and I still liked the movie.
Wi Hajoon as Do-shik is too handsome (he always looks handsome but here he was on another level)

Great Movie
Idk what people have against this movie. I saw some people say it's unrealistic that there's no people in the alleys at midnight like there's supposed to be 20 people going on a walk in that narrow alley at midnight. There's people when they get into the busy parts of the city. Also that there's plot holes but imo everything got cleared up and it has a clear ending.It's a great movie overall. We sometimes get scenes where there's 0 sounds, from the perspective of the deaf girl which often adds to the suspense. The police is dumb and really annoying but that shouldn't be a reason to not watch it. You will definitely get frustrated at the stupidity of some characters but honestly I think it was intended to show the problems that deaf people can often face (in an extreme way i know). The acting was also really good and Storyline overall too.

We need to appreciate deaf people
Wow, this movie leaves you no room to breathe! Lol. What I mean is there's action all the time, you're tense all the time! I really loved it.But well, focusing on the story the deaf girl is so smart and so brave!! Even though she can speak and can't hear, she was able to win her freedom together with her mom, the other girl and the girl's brother.
The scene where the murder gets killed was so strong and deep, Wi Ha-joon did an amazing job (i even got scared of him lol)
And when the girl's brother needed to decide to save his sister or the deaf girl...wow i felt him. I would be just like him, in doubt.
But the end was unexpectedly cute! They were all in Jeju island and the girl and her brother even learned how to talk in sign language!
Plus, the scene where the deaf girl was trying to say to the murder that she wanted to stay alive, was so deep...
Oh and the relationship between the deaf girl and her mother was so strong and lovely!!
I would rewatch again with someone for sure

Expect to be frustrated
Its a good intense film, kept me angry the whole entire time. So don't go into this movie expecting any moment to relax, there isn't a single moment of that through the entire film. It was great acting, and very intense, even despite being a simple story. I would say it's worth the watch, and consider this a very good movie. Despite cursing and being frustrated the whole time, it was a good cat and mouse chase. Some things I would of done different if I were being chased, but we all think that, but behave very differently when in a panic.Was this review helpful to you?
Heavy watch
Honestly this movie will leave you extremely exhausted after finishing it. I remember watching this for the first time at night and it only made the experience realer, as if I was the one who was getting chased by a serial killer. It’s good and the actors’ great acting will suck you in on it and make it feel like you’re right there with the victim.Though do beware that in this movie a lot of things happen at once, a lot of violence and emotional scenes. It feels as though you can’t even catch a breath for a moment. Everything happens in one day and it doesn’t let you to experience another day where you feel ease and catch a break- no, it ropes you in and it doesn’t let you go until the end.
So if you’re up for a very exhausting (yet good!) movie, then this is definitely it.

heart stopping thriller
This South Korean thriller's twists and turns is an outstanding and promising debut for writer-director Kwon Oh-Seung; it's gripping as a genre exercise and tense. But it also provides a (perhaps unintended) critique of a society that frequently views women and people with disabilities as less valuable than males who are physically fit.Unlucky Do Shik was about to attack another young woman, So Jung (Kim Hye-Yoon), when Kyung Mi just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. So Jung's incredibly controlling brother Tak So (Park Hoon) had warned her not to stay out too late. Uncomfortably, it appears that he was somewhat correct
if you love a good edge of your seat thriller from start to end this is the film for you, definitely one of my favourites.

This was a roller coaster
Okay so this is probably going to be my first and only review. . Umm I'm not sure if these count as a little bit of spoilers but I'll keep the tag up in case.This movie was AMAZING. The acting was spot on and holy crap Wi Hajoons acting was scarily impressive.
It had me look away sometimes and gasp because of the jump-scares and surprising scenes.
By the end of the movie I was so so relieved. Still, all of the things the psychopath did was scarily smart and a little predictable at times. Not to mention what MC did near the end, I was super impressed. If I had to put one thing I didn't like, it would be the police or civilians not seeing what was wrong. I'm pretty sure it was obvious something was off about the guy but yep.
And yeah that's about it!

Wrote this after a rewatch and though I already knew, my feelings were the same in two watches
Seeing the concept (and Wi Hajoon) was what made me interested, and it didn't disappoint me. I absolutely love Hajoon's (and everyone's!) performance in this movie. I first watched Hajoon's soft side in 18 Again, then saw his cooler side in Squid Game, and this is (I'm pretty sure!) the third Hajoon project that I've watched and he did amazing in every single project of his I watched so far, and Midnight is definitely one of my favorites.The chase scenes were honestly so scary and definitely made me just want to focus on it (tbh the whole movie is), like, I felt like if I just tear my attention away for a second, she would get caught or something. There were times when there was absolutely no sound at all, kind of putting it in the girl's point of view and at those times it was the scariest. Even for those few seconds of silence it felt terrifying for me, I really can't imagine how terrifying it must be for her. Running from a serial killer that you have to look back on to check if he's close or not, and though she was on the run herself, she still felt the need to help out the girl she just met. But it was the most frustrating thing ever. She was the nicest girl but when she was the one in need of help, no one did. When she approached some people and they just kinda walked away, it REALLY frustrated me. And I guess the killer is a pretty dang good actor himself for people to believe him over his victims. Or are they not able to sense ABSOLUTE FEAR FROM THE GIRL???? LIKE?????? YALL SERIOUS???????? Maybe if they bothered to actually pay attention to the girl and what she's TRYING HER BEST to convey............ But yknow what, I'm not even surprised about that because that's what these genres do. But it's overall pretty good. Honestly, I don't watch movies a lot but after watching this movie, I suddenly got in the mood to watch some other movies too.

So worth the last effort of her.
Ok, I'll try to make this review very simple. I've been watching k-dramas and k-movies since I was in my high school. And already have seen around 80-90 of them, but I'm telling you I never ever have seen such a masterpiece. All the aspects of this movie like story, osts, acting etc. will definitely make your heart go fall in love with this movie.I loved the way FL tried every way possible to make herself and her mom live alive. So worth the last effort taken by her. Never expected something like this, she'd come up with.
Moreover I would like to add, this movie successfully expresses the human emotions like selfishness. I detested the way police officer choose to give up on saving the FL in order to save her sister. But isn't it's the way they represent human selfishness, more and less they nailed it this time.

Not Your Typical Serial Killer Thriller Movie!
I went into this movie thinking that I would know how it'll end but the characters and story kept on surprising me! The storyline was written well and the scenes were carried out very nicely by the main cast members. The action scenes were amazing to watch and there was some really great thriller heart-racing moments. There were no jump scares, which is good because I don't like them, but that did not make the movie any less scary or intense to watch. There were also no dumb characters, which was surprising because some thriller movies usually do. I am amazed again by Wi Ha Joon's acting and I am excited to see him in more works as the male lead. Wi Ha Joon has great chemistry with Jin Ki Joo so I would love to see them as romantic partners in a drama someday. Anyways, this movie was a great watch and not your typical thriller movie. It is a great choice for people who are afraid of thriller movies because this is as exciting as a thriller without too much scare.Was this review helpful to you?
