Storyline: the beginning of the drama starts out way too slow and confusing, I’d say it starts getting more interesting after like episode 10. The last few episodes were also confusing and really rushed. Scenes were great, costuming, props, everything was awesome.Music: Love the soundtrack, definitely one of my favorites with several different songs to listen to.
Cast: what makes a drama better is appealing side characters, it’s pretty hard to hate seconds leads if they are good looking
In my opinion I think what could have improved the show was the last few episodes. It’s felt really rushed and it felt like it was going to crash. The ending was way too hasty. It feels like the dram brakes suddenly and it runs right into a wall and ends suddenly. I don’t really like that about dramas when they just have more plots even on the last episode, that ,are you feel like it might not even have time to end there.
Also there’s are probably several parts that we can cut out from the show. For example the entire Jieli and Danyin being twin sisters. I think that part could have been left out, wether they are siblings or not it would have changed the story much. As for Rong Hao he was captured twice and let out twice, that only needed to happen once and then he could have went to save his master.

it's a rollercoster
this drama gets me crying one minute and the next minute laughing. I for one love a good tragedy when i see one and this one is awesome. not only that the acting of the actors and actresses is incredibly heck i love the soundtracks too. I don't like weak FL but dammit the little fairy made it in my book although she is weak she didn't back down when it come to sacrificing herself in short in a way she is strong in her own way she made it in my book for being a strong FL but I would have preferred her to fight like action wise cause lets be real she hardly did any action but oh well. no matter my criticism I still like this drama cause to me it is well-written heck we also have side couples and a tragedy inside a tragedy because of the student and master/teacher's death. now the student and master/teacher story was like a hidden gem in this drama for me cause i couldn't hate the student because although he was a bad guy he did wanted to bring the woman that he love back to life and he didn't mind being the bad guy also when he kills his master that he loves soo much i taught i would have cried but naa i got my heart ripped out of me. Now back to the main couple this one give me a bunch of heartaches but it was worth it cause they both repay each other with one another life fairy dies for the devil and the devil dies for the fairy the clear the debt of life. Also am not saying the character's name or cast's name cause too lazy to copy and paste them but those of you who have seen this drama would know what i am talking about. though i have minor issues with the drama it's a 10 because it knows when and where to make the watcher/viewers get emotional . I also love when the fairy and the devil would swap bodies because both the actor and actress acting is incredibly in acting as if there literally swap bodies in real life. Was this review helpful to you?
A love so deep, tender and touching…
… that my tears are still flowing as I type this review. This is a love story that not just tugs at my heart strings but wrenches it as much as it makes it flutter and soar. The ML was phenomenal and I loved all his different faces. Cool and rigid as the emotionless Moon Supreme. Girly when he switched bodies. Puzzled as he starts figuring out love. Pained as he regains his emotions and understands his past. Caring when he was in love. Happy and playful when he was sharing sweet moments in his dreamworld.
One of the best paced story telling I’ve seen for a xanxia. The story itself was also very good with a good amount of twists and reveals without overdoing the jealousies. “2 sides to a coin” - this drama handled this very well especially in showing how people are not evil in the Moon Tribe. All the reveals behind all the “evil” actions made my heart break repeatedly.
Obsession leads to chaos. I kept asking myself why RongHao had to do what he did. On one hand, I understood his obsession. And on the other hand, I kept wishing he would be righteous enough not to carry out his plans. Such a grey character which provided the right level of adversities for the main couple to overcome.
While not the best, the costumes, sets and props were good enough to tell the story. Don’t get caught up with some of the minor little details and you could love this as much as than Ten Miles of Peach Blossom.

LOVED BEYOND YEARS
This is my on my top 5 Cdrama list. AMAZING acting. Dylan wang is not only absolutely stunning but he embodied his role perfectly. Gosh his stare of love can melt anyones heart!!! The chemistry between the leads, was straight fire!!! The side characters were not annoying. They were a perfect side add-on. Loved the small amount of bromance we got. This had everything!, from comedy, to drama, to romance. Can we talk about how spoiled we were given how many times we got a kiss scene!!!! I just loved how well everyone played their roles! This drama has everything, i would love to watch a 2nd season!!!Was this review helpful to you?
Entertaining Blend: Acting, Music, and Storytelling
It was good! I loved everyone's acting. The music was perfect; it enhances the scenes. It had comedy, romance, emotional scenes, action, and magic packed in.At the beginning, I loved the first 10-15 episodes. It held suspense and mystery perfectly with a few romantic interactions. I was a little bored in the middle, but the story gets better once we started exploring Dong Fangcang's past. Towards the end, this story shows some intense emotions. The only complaint is that they did not show the main leads together for a long period of time. I am glad it had special 2 episodes. I have not seen them yet, but I am looking forward to seeing more of their scenes.

absolutely spot on
To start of, the drama was almost miss out by me with a few almost the same story line drama coming around the same time. But this is the one that really stands up.All was really very very good less the OST which doesnt worth 10 but really wanted to give a perfect score for this drama.
My personal feel why this stands up of the rest was:
1. Many small little created the smile and laughter to viewer.
2. Enjoying with relaxing but not at any point felt boring or wanted to skip or fast forward even already knowing whats going to happen next.
3. Created a loving and hopeful mindset for viewers

Good, but expected more
I finally finished this after a month! Overall, this was good, but I expected a little more. Some parts felt long and draggy because I didn’t care too much about certain characters after a while. The acting of the leads was amazing though. I loved their chemistry a lot, and understand why everyone went crazy over them🤭🥹. I wasn’t a big fan of our Black Dragon because 1) he was kind of bad at his job, 2) kind of dumb and 3) we never saw him as a dragon except for, like, two times. That’s so annoying. I also didn’t like Jie Li to be honest. Her character was really annoying.
The cinematography and CGI were amazing though. Such a feast for my eyes, I really loved it. The OST is also so beautiful and catchy!!
Now, where can I get a Dongfang Qing Cang for myself?

Dylan Wang Hedi is destined to be Dongfang Qingcang, the Moon Supreme
my first officially completed watching drama of Dylan Wang Hedi. I subscribe the iQiyi vip to watch the drama, I glad it’s not a waste. Dongfang Qingcang and Xiao Lanhua (Orchid). I love him ever since this drama. Dongfang Qingcang is truly destined to be his character. All the customized costume for Dongfang Qingcang is great. my #1 is black-gold, when he’s at the Arbiter Hall. my #2 is the costume when he takes the punishment lightning. #2(ii), the first outfit after he finally switched back his soul after he resurrected at Haotian Tower, he looks mega powerful with his full costume at that time. the drama is Chinese Xianxia. the mood overall is rollercoaster. I bawled my eyes when Xiao Lanhua choose to free Dongfang Qingcang from the Heart Curse and later, Dongfang Qingcang also choose to change Xiao Lanhua’s destiny. after 500 years, they reunited. love the OSTs. love them <3//side note – hoping for season 2, but the storyline might not be the same anymore. glad they gave special short episodes, 36 ep. + special.

one of the best CGI in a xianxia drama
I did not plan to write a review for this drama because many people have written excellent and comprehensive reviews already, but I decided to add in my thoughts just for my record in point form while trying not to write spoilers.1. Female lead’s voice sounded really childlike, but by the third episode, I was used to it. Her voice reminded me of those dubbed female lead in Japanese anime. The cute, high-pitched ones.
2. I did not find the female lead’s acting convincing enough at first, but she improved as the episodes went by especially when Xiao Lan Hua became Xi Yun Goddess. I thought she acted well with her changed voice and expressions.
3. It took me months to finish this drama. Just one sentence: not engaging enough. The beginning episodes were draggy, the mortal realm was boring (I was stuck there for weeks) , but after the mortal realm, the story got a little better and I finished it in a matter of days.
4. To be honest, all in all, I was not touched by the love between the main leads. They were not the kind of main leads whom I really hoped they became together and nothing tore them apart. Nothing was wrong with their acting, I guess it was just the chemistry between Wang He Di and Yu Shu Xin. And the kissing scenes, especially those which were supposed to be passionate like the ending ones, were just well...lips touching. However, I do have to mention that I was moved to tears at the bridge when Dongfang Qing Cang confessed his never-changing love for Xiao Lan Hua (Xi Yun Goddess) and Xiao Lan Hua left the bridge with tears flowing secretly. I think the surrounding circumstances made his confession very heartrending.
5. Extremely gorgeous CGI. I think this has been mentioned umpteen times by many reviewers, but it is true. For example, in all the xianxia dramas I have watched, the heavenly main hall in this drama was the most beautiful and heavenly-like I have ever seen, no exaggeration here, I’m serious. What with its numerous dreamlike waterfalls and pamukkale (Turkey)-looking water steps. Watch it for yourself and you’ll know what I mean.
6. The last few episodes and ending felt like the director was rushing to tie the loose ends. Some side characters' stories were not properly shown, explained or developed, at least to me. For example, I would have liked to see more of the story development between Shang Que (Dongfang Qing Cang's subordinate) and Jie Li (Xiao Lan Hua's best friend).
Overall, I may have more negative things to rant about this drama than positive comments looking at the above, but I would still recommend this drama to anyone who wants to watch a Chinese historical drama and even more so a xianxia drama because of its CGI. Yes, because it is a xianxia drama and CGI is one of the most important things in a xianxia drama.

overrated
I don't get the hype for this drama. It's not bad but also not good, the FL makes me so angry with her voice and personality she never listens and doesn't realise who she really loves until towards the end. She always acts on her own like a toddler it's annoying. But the ML nailed it, i have no idea how he didn't go crazy but anyways the other actors did wel tho.I did love the part where they go to the mortal world it was really interesting and the editing was honestly good.
(happy ending)

OK if you're bored
I like this series because of Dylan Wang who did a great job as Dongfang Qing Cang. The chemistry between him and Orchid is there. I like their lovey-dovey scene and rewatch a couple on youtube. There is character development for both main characters - Dongfang Qing Cang: learn how to love, Orchid: learn how to be strong. The story line is mediocre and very typical (i.e. you can find this plot in any movie). There is no surprise and not much dramatic - to me, it's a good thing since I only want some light hearted rom-com. Orchid is a bit annoying and overly cutesy but she's strong in her own way. The 2nd ML is rather boring. The 2nd couple should have more screen time as they're adorable.

abuse but frame it as an epic romance ✨
what if I were a genocidal tyrant who wanted to wipe out your clan and you were a naive and innocent girl who accidentally freed me from my prison and you endured my violence and rage bc you're a Good Woman™️and you dedicated yourself to rehabilitating me and loved and defended me and were willing to die for me and chose me over your people even though I was still planning to commit genocide on them👉🥺👈EXCRUCIATING endurance test that I forced myself to undergo due to how popular this show is and my attempt to find the appeal. There are some kernels of interesting ideas here but the show is entirely too devoted to this abusive romance story and Dongfang Qingcang being rehabilitated through "the power of love" to actually explore any of them. Orchid is also infantilized to an insanely uncomfortable degree - she has baby voice and behaves like a literal toddler - which is another layer of discomfort to their romance, but honestly it's very easy for that objection to fade into the background after the first ~third of the show because DFQC is just so aggressive and cruel literally all the time. And then the fact that every time I see someone complaining about the romance it's because "Orchid is annoying"?????? Like we didn't sit through 20-something episodes of DFQC choking her, repeatedly threatening her (and people she cares about), sexually assaulting her (most of those kisses were literally not consensual!), just being generally angry and mean and yelling at her and calling her stupid.... Like, sure there are some moments they have in isolation that are nice, but then as soon as you think of the context of the previous episodes any "soft" moments they have become incredibly nauseating. This is literally one of the most blatantly misogynistic pieces of media I have ever seen and the audience reaction to it boggles my mind.
other notes:
- gorgeous costumes. I loathe DFQC but I can't lie, I am obsessed with literally every outfit he wore. his whole aesthetic was just *chefs kiss*
- not enough sword fights for a xianxia :(
- acting: at the start I was pretty impressed by Dylan Wang's performance but DFQC is just angry and screaming so much that it got really old. Like what is impressive about a dude raging out for 36 episodes? I don't think anyone in the cast was bad, but no one really stood out the way Dylan did and. again. his role got old. Those scenes in the first ~10 episodes or so where he was confused and/or irritated by experiencing Orchid's emotions after centuries of repressing his emotions were pretty funny (and basically the only humorous scenes that got a laugh from me) and tbh I think those were the scenes that showed off his talent the best too.
- music: probably a solid third of the soundtrack irritated me to no end. That horrid discordant music that kept playing during villain scenes literally activated my fight or flight response every time I heard it. There's another third of the soundtrack that I actually really liked, but the music felt like it rarely matched the tone of the scenes and that romantic ballad from the opening credits kept being used at the worst moments
- Changheng I love you I'll never stop loving you 💗💗
