THIS IS MY FAVE SERIES!

Every eps, my expression was "Whoa, shep, ghad super!" The plot was super interesting (never looked at how many eps it has). I'm an overthinker who loves to predict what's next but men, this series fooled me thrice! The effects were awesome! FL was fantastic, she may seem linear but she shows her courage more than they emphasized. I like her lighter personality than the last eps. ML was superb too! They manage to portray his character in deep to emphasize the importance of it in the plot. I didn't know the actor until my friend recognized him. And sheezzz, when they switched bodies, their acting was freakin distinguishable! There are minor questions that were not answered but oh well, not important, just OC guy. The ending was quite short though. I want more of them! huuhu. That's why I got a hangover on this one for about a month before I decided to watch and move on. It's not light because the plot was AWESOME. OVERALL, this one is freakin good!

I have rewatched this drama so many times and I still love it so much.

This is always the drama I recommend when someone asks for one.

I love everything from the handsome Dylan Wang to my ultimate favourite Esther Yu, to the emotional music to the beautiful costumes, to the plot twists. There are some scenes that are boring, but I was able to get through them without much skipping. But nonetheless, I ended up rewatching the drama like 5 times and even watched the "boring" scenes again because the drama ended up being so so good!

If you are debating whether or not you should spend time on this drama. I beg you to watch it!! It is the best!

SPOILERS:
I know some people were not as satisfied with the ending because it was this cyclic idea where he waits for her, then she waits for him, then he waits for her again. But I think that's the whole point of their story - that they're always there for each other. I think it's the perfect ending for them where they are finally able to settle down in the place they grew most close together yet still have the powers and control of the universe.

A sweet but emotional rollercoaster

This a fantasy costume romance drama starring Esther Yu as Orchid, Dylan Wang as Moon Supreme and Zhang Heling as Chang Heng God of War.
The pacing of the plot moves along well and the acting is truly something special, especially for fans who have also seen some bts clips. I especially want to applaud Dylan Wang's acting in this drama, truly a tremendous performance.
The entire casting was great and they chose great actors to bring the characters to the screen.
With both sweet and heart wrenching moments, the romance between the main characters is a true test of their love journey.
Great soundtrack/OSTs. Zhou Shen is amazing and love hearing his voice bring out the emotion in the bgm.

Best Cdrama so far!

I have already rewatched it 5 times. Every. Single. Episode. It's that good. I occasionally rewatch my favourite scenes just for the pleasure of it. What's more the OST is lit! And it's the first time ever a drama didn't make me feel deprived for the loss of intimate scenes. The acting is superb, the dialogues come back to bite you and everything falls exceptionally into place depicting an amazing love story. No plot holes, no fillers and one of the best love confessions ever! From both of the protagonists. And their actions prove their words! Definitely worth the hype, definitely worth my time!

A Love That Runs Deep

The story was beautifully woven and well thought out. The main characters and the side characters were well developed and the chemistry between the characters was amazing. What I loved the most about this drama was the love between Orchid and Dongfang Qing Cang. It ran deep and was so pure and strong. You could feel how much they loved each other, from the little gestures and touches to the loving look in their eyes and the sacrifices they were willing to make for each other.

Dylan and Esther both did such an amazing job portraying their characters, especially Dylan. The way he portrayed Dongfang Qing Cang, you could see every emotion in his eyes and micro expressions, and he was absolute gold in the body swap episodes.

The costumes and the settings were beautifully designed. I love the contrast between the clothing of the Moon tribe vs Fairy Realm, and I also quite enjoyed the OST. There were a bit too many fade to black transitions between scenes which was a little jarring at times and people complained about Orchid's voice, although I actually found it quite fitting for her cute, bubbly character.

Overall, this drama is not without it flaws and could have used a bit more explanation in some areas, but it was definitely enjoyable and I highly recommend it.

The best light xianxia to watch. (Don't be fooled by negative reviews)

I watched it when it got released and I am surprised that the REVIEWS ARE VERY DECIEVING AND HARSH

1) Its a perfectly light Xianxia with a heartwarming romance compared to some serious xianxias which have the capability to make you tired and heartbroken

2) NO! THE FL ISN'T STUPID like the people say. The younger /earlier form of that particular plant with low cultivation is SUPPOSED TO BE NAIVE.
⚠️spoiler alert ⚠️
She represents the pure heart of a child...and selfless love (she isn't a child herself..but higher being/goddess who taken that form for a purpose). Only a heart THAT PURE CAN MELT AWAY THE REVENGEFUL EMOTIONS OF A DEMON. She obviously grows to become a courageous being and eventually transforms into her true self.

It has symbolism. People who haven't seen Esther or her work also hate her the first time they see her...or find her incredibly odd (especially if they don't come from eastern cultures) but Esther was a good pick for Orchid's pre transformation role. She was also pretty great at mimicking the mannerisms of the ML as well as acting out the post transformation Goddess role

3) The ML surprised me because I wasn't expecting him to do justice to the role. He was highly entertaining throughout the drama and his reactions as well dilemmas were convincing

Overall, I enjoyed it quite a lot and its appropriate for binging. If you enjoy Banter, enemies to lovers and visually pleasing xianxia, You will love this as well.

Love for Cāng Lán Jué..

This was the first chinese drama that I actually finished and which made me wish it wasn't ending...

I had tried two other C-dramas in the past that I didn't/couldn't finish watching and ended up falling back on my trusted K-dramas...

However. This one...

This one was ... EPIC.

I mean who DOESN'T love a well done enemies-to-reluctant-allies-to-lovers story? Right?

There are many other beloved and familiar archetypes and overarching themes that the story relates to, but the above is the core theme driving the drama...

The first half is funny-as (there's a body swap happening and the male lead did an amazing job here)... while the second half is all angst. Have tissues ready...And I mean multiple boxes. I have now watched this 5 times, and the impact doesn't lessen.

AT. ALL.

This is unashamedly a love story... but beyond this main theme, one has comedy, fantasy (backed up by the most amazing CGI), action and adventure (ohh the fight scenes are 👌), and the symbolisms throughout it all is wonderfully done.

The female lead is actually intelligent and bold - taking the initiative first in many aspects of the relationship, and also demands for equality and equity not just in their own relationship but in other aspects as well.

She has played three different roles in this drama, and each time, her voice, facial expressions and body language was nuanced to ensure we understood the person at their core identity level...

Same for the male lead. They both actually outdid EVERYTHING they have either done in the past. They GREW here as actors. How much they invested of themselves in this drama, shows in some of the BTS of the truly emotional scenes. Again. Keep tissues ready.

Kudos to the writers 👏

Also shout out to the entire team.. from the costumes to the set designs, make up, and also the OST.. everything was a chef's kiss... They took four years to fine tune it all before starting shooting and it shows.

And of course the BEST part (as always with me and what constitutes a true romance) is that there is an HEA, with not one, but two epilogues.

This will be a comfort watch for YEARS to come. I've already watched 5 times in a row now. Because everything else keeps falling short.

Surprisingly good

When I read the title, it had immediately caught my attention and curiosity but watching some promo clips made it feel very cheesy. I thought it isn't something I could possibly enjoy. But because I've liked the Male lead (Dylan Wang)'s work in the past, I decided to give it a go and binged the entire show in 3 days.

The story isn't very complex which is a good thing for first timers like me being introduced to a new fantasy world. A devil (Dong Fang Qing Cang) is held prisoner by fairies for 30,000 years. An ordinary orchid fairy unintentionally gets locked in with him. The fated meeting results in both escaping but unable to part ways. Thus beginning the journey of their love.

The opening theme has stunning illustrations with hauntingly beautiful music. The wardrobe, sets, CGI, all add to the beauty of this show. The work gone into producing this shows. The cast have performed brilliantly especially while varying their emotions and depicting different personalities. The male lead did do the superior job in this regard. The second Male lead is also astounding. The plot moves fairly quickly and the episodes are edited to cut off at a critical point in the conversation or story which makes you want to jump from episode to episode.

The OST is wonderful. The only issue being that it's hard to read the lyrics and the dialogues at the same time. There are a few points where the story slows down considerably for effect and I had to forcefully move it along due to my impatience.

I don't have experience with this genre in cdramas but I definitely want to give more a chance thanks to Love Between Fairy and Devil.

If you are bored after two episodes, bear with me, I was too

Okay, so I thought I might explore more works of Dylan Wang. After 'Only for love" I thought he has this spark.
I launched LBFAD and boy oh boy I was disappointed. First two episodes, actually maybe even three were a nightmare but overall story seemed interesting. FL acting was overwhelming and I really couldn't... Although ML totally bought me with his acting. After swap, he REALLY NAILED Orchid's character. And this acting was what held me with this show.
Every next episode was better and better, I was totally invested emotionally, I laughed at some scenes, I've cried at lot of scenes too. And I think I have my own personal new favorite after Goblin. To be honest, I really would like Goblin to end like LBFAD. And I really wished, we got 10 more minutes with DFQC. Like the acting of Dylan Wang here was really impressive.

I would watch this again, loved every minute

I rarely find a show that I could watch twice. However, this show is one. I laughed, I cryed, I smiled, I was even surprised. Loved every minute. Loved the story, loved the acting by all the cast, loved the OST and the set was nicely done, the set had the feel of being in a theater production, I didn't mind it at all, consistent and it all fit. the only thing that would have made it better would have been to give a bit more of an explanation on the conclusion, to wrap things up a bit cleaner. But still I loved the conclusion anyway.

Love Against the Grain

Production, Acting, Storyline and Cinematic direction was very good. This series was beautifully done in merging the understanding and challenges of worlds, class, status and abilities all in one. The chemistry between the leads was heart tugging at times, yet drew you into the pace and intention of the drama. The OST was good. However, the cinematic attention to detail is really what makes this story shine. The leads were very good in handling and conveying the dynamics of conflict, challenge, compassion and change towards one another. The plot and subplots of trials and challenges didnt feel forced or unrealistic. The storyline had times were it felt as if it may drag a bit. Nevertheless, it didn't veer off too far where it would take away interest. The was definitely worth the watch!

Dongfang Qingcang Stole My Heart (and My Tears)

There are stories that hook you with plot twists, and then there are stories that quietly dismantle you from the inside. This drama belongs entirely to the second category.

What stayed with me wasn’t just the story, it was the characters, and above all, the male lead. He is the kind of character that reminds you why complex writing matters. Strong without trying, emotionally layered, guarded yet deeply human… the more we understand his past, the more every reaction gains weight. His strength never feels performative, it feels like survival.

Watching him was less about romance and more about witnessing an emotional journey that borders on overwhelming at times. I cried, I worried about what would happen next, and more than once caught myself wishing I could somehow “save” him, which is always the sign of powerful character construction.

Interestingly, this isn’t a drama driven by constant romantic scenes or physical intimacy. The romance exists, but it breathes through tension, restraint, and emotional proximity rather than grand gestures. War, suffering, loyalty, and psychological endurance take center stage, and that choice gives the relationship a deeper credibility.

One of the most compelling dynamics appears early on: his discomfort around a female lead who simply refuses to fear him. You can almost see the first cracks in his emotional armor forming in those moments. Their connection doesn’t explode, it erodes barriers.

Is it a beautiful story? Yes.
But beauty isn’t what makes it unforgettable.
It’s the emotional weight.
The performances.
The way the characters feel alive long after the final episode ends.

Will I rewatch it soon? Probably not, and that’s not a negative. Some dramas are so emotionally consuming that you need distance before returning to them. But I know this one will stay in my thoughts for days.

Final verdict: an incredible male lead, outstanding acting, and an emotional journey that hits far deeper than expected. Not just something you watch, something you carry with you afterward.

Rating 9.5/10
