It's a drama for healing!

Main characters are all realistic and the show goes in depth about their lifes, feeling and thoughts. The side characters were also full of life, im happy we got to meet them.

Seon-gyeom (the male first lead) is not your typical male lead that comes from a rich family. While it has the typical parent problems i think the show takes an interesting and different take on it.
Mi joo (the female first lead) is maybe the best female character in kdrama land. She is just so real and has her ups and downs and she's so good. The way she's there for everyone she loves and how she takes care of herself and puts herself first when it's needed is admirable. She is just everything.

The main couple is just so healthy and their conversations are the best thing ever honestly, they fit so perfectly together. Their relationship is so calm and collected and full of love and respect that goes both ways. Dare i say that they are the healthiest relationship in drama land i have ever seen. Their honest conversations really make their relationship special.

The second couple is more complicated but yet full of banter and interesting conversations. He falls quickly but she takes her time because she doesn't understand what she feels. We can see how much Yeong Hwa matures during the drama and how Dan Ah she allows herself to have something for herself. Also still can't over the fact he gave her converse to play football in...that's such an art student thing to do. I'm happy they got their happy ending. They deserved it.

Not to mention the consistent talks about loving yourself and putting yourself first and casual and positive mentions of lgbt.

I'm glad Netflix kept recommending me the show because it stole my heart and the 1st place on my favorite kdramas.

It's a very refreshing watch, not your usual KDrama

I started Run On without expectations, but it ended up raising the bar so high for 2021 dramas, in my opinion.

The build-up and the pacing of the story were beautifully written. Every episode is enjoyable and there were no boring parts. I couldn't stress enough how much refreshing this drama is, especially the screenplay. It's not always that the characters of a drama talks, like have actual, mature conversations. The dialogue among characters were flawless-- they were realistic and it's not trying so hard to be witty. The writer(s) found the perfect balance on it making it relatable to the audience.

I also love the characters, all of them. As individual characters, I love how their growth and development weren't rushed and shows how progress is not linear. The lead couple was very cute, being shy and all. Some may find this a bit "off", but I think it's very crucial considering the dynamics of the two. Not only it reflects the character development of (primarily) the main lead, but also how the female lead also grew as a person. On the other hand, the second lead couple balances the "shy, teenager love" of the main couple. There could've been a little improvement on the second FL's character, but it's wonderful nonetheless.

When I finished watching this, I felt a pang in my chest because it's over. I am happy with how it ended, and how the story went. This drama will surely hold a special place in my heart. It taught me the importance of self-love and the different faces of it.

One of the best dramas. The script is flawless.

This drama is an actual cultural reset. It has no flaws. It is a perfect masterpiece from a rookie writer's first work. She's made a fan for life.
This drama is just a beautiful portrayal of relationships, romantic, sibling, parental, marital and platonic. I couldn't believe how perfect the script and story is, it heals you and makes you better.

From the first episode, I loved the characters, the setting, the chemistry and the way it was filmed. There was no way for me to escape from falling for this drama and its characters.

It's so close to reality, each character communicates. The communication and understanding between the character is given the highest regard by the writer, this has almost never happened in any other drama I have seen. It tackles pain that people face when they are in a relationship in a way that has never been done before. Some, if not all of the dialogues the characters say actually deserve an award. I will riot if the drama doesn't get an award.

The actors really outdid themselves. Sekyung's best performance yet. Her acting is amazing. Her character, one for the books. She's unapologetically herself, loves herself and takes care of herself. She puts herself first, this kind of character, I have never seen before.
Im shi wan has also earned a fan for life. His voice, his actions and expressions are to die for. He has such a hold on the audience. A genius actor. I cant wait to watch more of his works, as this was my first.
Sooyoung and tae oh also did a great job at making sure I feel all kinds of emotions.
Jtbc did God's work by releasing behind the scenes and interviews of the actors which I watched like it's my daily routine. I love the main actor's chemistry, honestly if they date, I wont be surprised.

Each and every character is precious in thier own way. There is literally nothing for me to complain about. Though I'd like to Express my love towards the secretary, his character is gold. He's so precious, funny and so human unlike the secretaries in other shows who are shown to be more robotic.

One more thing I loved about this show was that none of the characters were labelled to be a particular way. Nobody assumed anyone to be straight, this was truly a breath of fresh air. Its leading a trend towards more sensitive dramas in the future, hopefully.

The osts of the show are top tier. I would really recommend this ost called "sorry" by 2F, it literally gives you goosebumps. I watched and heard each of the osts during my one week wait between episodes.

Run on is always on my mind. One of my all time favourite dramas for sure. Highly recommended.

A really good drama for something that I dropped

This drama wasn't exceptionally good but let's just start with saying the visuals were HEAVY.

Please take a look at my bio for a 10/10 completed drama.

The story had a really good start and I predict that the drama would have gone well. It's just that they lost my interest because I couldn't connect with the male lead.

As for the cast, I came for Sekyung and Sooyoung. They definitely met my expectations. As for Kang Tae Oh and Im Shi Wan, I just realized they are experienced idol actors. I don't know if it's the character or the actor but the male lead was really hard to sympathize or connect with as mentioned above. Sekyung connected me with MiJoo really well though. Sooyoung actually confused me so much because I lowkey wanted her to be the female lead at moments. Finally, with Kang Tae Oh, I don't think I watched enough to judge his character or acting ability (though I have seen him in My First First Love 1 and 2).

Overall, I WOULD only RECCOMEND if you have a large attention span.

Simples e Divertido

Essa é a minha primeira review aqui no MDL e teve que ser com esse dorama por diversas razões. Se você está pensando em assistir ou não, a minha resposta vai ser: ASSISTA!

Já os primeiros episódios são excelentes e eu como uma pessoa que acompanhou desde o começo tive muitas esperanças e expectativas durante o lançamento e não me arrependi, mas indo direto ao ponto; O enredo num todo não é nada fora do que costumamos ver, mas os personagens e são extremamente cativantes.

O que simplesmente chamou minha atenção foi como os personagens agem e conversam, eu não esperava muito apesar de estar curiosa sobre o dorama em si, mas tudo dentro da obra flui muito bem, as conversas verdadeiras, as ações justas e "reais", é claro que existe muitas situações absurdas e bem engraçadas que são dificílimas de acontecer na vida real, mas se acontecesse qualquer um tomaria atitudes como as deles e é por isso que me cativou tanto.

Eles não agem como personagens de uma obra fictícia e sim como pessoas reais e isso é incrível. Principalmente os dois personagens principais, eu amei o fato de terem colocado uma personagem tão simples mas tão diferente ao mesmo como tempo como a Oh Mi Joo é, as atitudes dela como uma mulher adulta são de se admirar num dorama coreano e eu não posso deixar de comentar do personagem mais interessante e esquisito que já vi, Ki Seon Gyeom. Eu amo como ela mesma pergunta pro mesmo se ele já ouviu dizerem que ele é uma pessoa estranha, porque ele é e MUITO. E é isso que deixa tudo diferente, ele tem reações humanas e naturais, as conversas dele com a nossa protagonista são completamente naturais, sem enrolações, sem clichêzões e coisinhas fúteis entre os dois, ele tem tudo pra dar errado e ser mais uma obra comum, mas ele é tudo de diferente e isso não tem nada haver com a história e sim com os personagens esquisitos e humanos.

Si corre .... tra ambizioni narrative e povertà sostanziali

Serie tv di tipo arthouse (indie) del 2021, genere coming of a age (racconto di formazione)/ slice of life (spaccato di vita) e self healing che vanta un folto cast di attori con palmares di tutto rispetto: Im Si Wan è uno degli attori di squid game 2 e 3, summer strike e ha ricevuto da poco un premio per Boyhood 2024. Lei è la FL del Re e la Spia; Sooyoung è una cantante e attrice sudcoreana, ex membro delle Girls' Generation; Kang Tae-oh è stato il ML di Avvocata Woo, Potato Lab e figura anche nel cast di Doom at you service.
A parte loro figurano anche altri attori di un certo spessore, tra cui Kim Seon-ho con un cameo nell'ultimo episodio.
Nonostante l'impiego di un cast di comprovata fama le interpretazioni sono state più che sufficienti ma niente di memorabile o all'altezza delle loro reali possibilità, specialmente per il personaggio principale (che mi dicono essere bravissimo), il quale ha mostrato poca variabilità emotiva, risultando rigido e con pochi spazi di libertà.

Il lavoro parla della maturazione e realizzazione professionale di alcuni ragazzi e tratta tematiche come il nonnnismo nell'atletica, gestione delle dinamiche famigliari, il mondo dello sport e delle agenzie degli idol, quello del cinema e dell'interpretariato. Non ci sono grossi drammi o tragedie, è più un percorso di formazione , riscoperta e riallineamento ai propri obiettivi e valori di vita.
C'è l'abusatissimo tropo del genitore "piovra" che considera i figli come protesi di se stesso e usa la famiglia per sostenere la carriera, pertanto scoraggia relazioni tra ceti sociali differenti imponendo matrimoni.
Il lavoro è piuttosto gradevole, si segue con difficoltà per via dei vergognosi dialoghi non revisionati e non adattati (grazie netflix!) e timing sottotitoli scadente, è noioso a tratti, non ha un ritmo, lo definirei lento.
Non è un romance anche se ci sono delle storie d'amore, tutto si concentra sulla carriera e sul superamento dei propri limiti personali.
Il protagonista principale, l'atleta Ki Seon gyeom, è un uomo apparentemente eccentrico e sui generis ma in realtà soffre di una profonda forma di alienazione personale, legata al dover corrispondere alle elevatissime aspettative genitoriali e varie forme di incuria emotiva, lasciato solo e abbandonato a se stesso è abituato a prendersi cura degli altri, trascurando se stesso, ignora i propri bisogni e le proprie necessità. Quando un compagno di squadra viene ripetutamente picchiato dai compagni scatta in lui una profonda crisi personale che lo costringe e rivalutare la sua stessa esistenza e i propri bisogni. Verrà accompagnato nel suo percorso di riscoperta da una traduttrice in bolletta che ha buone abilità interpersonali e riuscirà a indirizzarlo bene, sembra una storia d'amore, e in effetti c'è, ma visti dall'esterno questi due mi hanno ricordato un rapporto asimmetrico madre- figlio; lei è più una figura materna vicaria che una donna desiderabile per lui. Lei lo considera un bambino e glielo dirà spesso. Pochissime le interazioni fisiche (un bacio) e poca chimica tra di loro.

Run-on è un dramma che è stato decantato spesso per i suoi dialoghi ma ....personalmente li ho trovati pseudo filosofici e privi di sostanza (a parte un paio di frasi), non hanno lasciato segni dentro di me né mi hanno portato ad avviare riflessioni profonde.
Paradossalmente si parla del mondo dei traduttori e sottotitolatori di film e la traduzione di questo lavoro è pessima, priva di adattamento e con timing sballato , assurdo! LOL
Ci sono delle inesattezze quando viene costruito il set e lei non sembra un'interprete ma più un'assistente alla regia. Si parla di film ma i dialoghi sul cinema sono limitati a poche riflessioni, non bene spiegate tra l'altro. Si parla di arte ma non viene approfondito alcun senso sui significati e significanti del linguaggio pittorico.
Si parla di tante cose senza svilupparne adeguatamente nessuna, si toccano solo alcuni temi interessanti che potevano rendere questo drama un vero "arthouse" ma risulta essere incompleto e confuso.
É un drama delicato (approssimativo) e introspettivo ma senza spessore perché:
- è eccessivamente riflessivo, con lunghi dialoghi pseudo filosofici che rallentano l’azione; poco dinamico per il tema sportivo, si parla di corsa ma il ritmo narrativo si muove a malapena (LOL). Inutilmente contemplativo (di cosa poi).
- dialoghi forzatamente profondi o "pseudo-intellettuali", poco naturali e alcuni hanno davvero poco senso nel progresso delle relazioni, e non vengono sviluppati alcuni punti cruciali (la relazione tra il pittore e Seo Dan -ah non si capisce perché si sviluppa, qual è il collante, cosa vede lei nei suoi quadri "vedo te, vedo il tempo che ci dedichi".... in che modo questo dovrebbe scuotermi o colpirmi).
- manca di un vero conflitto centrale che faccia da motore alla storia e si affida troppo a interazioni quotidiane e leggere, che risultano poco coinvolgenti; i conflitti secondari poco sviluppati, anche a livello emotivo e spesso si risolvono troppo in fretta o dal nulla viene mostrata la vita di queste persone dopo la loro risoluzione, il personaggio di Wo-sik poco sviluppato nel suo tormento interiore e nella conseguente riconquista del successo, stessa cosa il rapporto tra Da- An e il pittore, o la sua famiglia.
- finale tiepidissimo, privo di impatto e sottotono per le storie d'amore che si erano sviluppate;
- musica basic, lenta e lagnosa, in pendant con il drama;
- regia e montaggio statici, con frequente uso di elissi e flashback inseriti un po' a caso.
Premio la fotografia , le scene all'aperto hanno un color grading interessante che fa respirare l'occhio, soprattutto le riprese dall'alto dei moli sul mare.

In conclusione, Run On è stato da molti apprezzato per la sua atmosfera pacata, i dialoghi introspettivi e l'attenzione alla crescita personale, ma personalmente l'ho trovato lento, eccessivamente verboso e inutilmente prolisso, con poca tensione drammatica e una gestione discontinua delle sottotrame secondarie.
Le evoluzioni ci sono ma non sono giustificate dal percorso che si vede, non basta scrivere un diario in cui annoti quello che fai o una donna che crede in te per guarire, nei confronti della quale poi sviluppi attaccamento materno scambiandolo per sentimento.
Nonostante una bella fotografia, il ritmo registico e il montaggio sono statici. Niente di “cinematografico” o innovativo come si trova in altri k-drama più recenti.
Vi avviso , dato che nessuno lo ha capito, che il personaggio principale ha un disagio psicologico molto marcato quindi consideratelo come un bambino che impara a muoversi nel mondo.

Coup de cœur pour ce petit bijou unique

Bien que j'ai tardé à le regarder, je ne pensais pas une seule seconde tomber sous son charme. Rares sont les projets qui ont un tel impact émotionnel sur moi, mais "Run On" y parvient sans difficulté.
Tout comme "Do You Like Brahms?", il a fait palpiter mon cœur, me soufflant à quel point ce genre de petit bijou est toujours un moment unique lorsqu'on le découvre.

Qu'ai-je aimé ? Tout ! Des personnages magnifiques et travaillés, interprétés avec justesse par l'ensemble du casting. Mention spéciale pour Im Si Wan qui était tout simplement parfait dans son rôle. Tout comme Shin Se Kyung qui nous offre une interprétation différentes des personnages féminins habituels.
Les dialogues sont bons et poussent à nous questionner en retour tandis que l'histoire évolue tranquillement. D'ailleurs, on appréciera le fait que le scénario n'est pas pollué par une multitude de sous-intrigues inutiles ou futiles. Les différents thèmes abordés apportent un réel intérêt et ne font que renforcer la fraîcheur que le drama dégage dans sa globalité en lui offrant une saveur unique. Car c'est le mot clé pour moi. Il est unique !

Certains n'aimeront pas le considérant comme trop lent ou sans scénario particulier. Et c'est compréhensible ! Il existe des tas de dramas dont je ne comprends pas le succès, simplement parce qu'ils ne m'ont pas transporté, comme celui-ci. Mais comme "My Liberation Notes" que je regarde actuellement avec une passion aussi vibrante que pour "Run On", ce n'est pas un drama qui nous raconte une histoire précise. C'est une évolution constante, la construction de soi et de nos choix. C'est aussi un drama que je regarderais avec le même enthousiasme dans quelques mois (peut-être même quelques semaines).

En bref, un casting merveilleux et des personnages travaillés et soignés (preuve étant que c'est un point non négligeable), une belle photographie et une romance qui a fait s'emballer mon cœur par sa discrétion et sa sincérité. Je ne pouvais que tomber amoureuse de ce petit bijou.

Da questo drama mi aspettavo molto di più.

La storia si svolge in maniera troppo lenta per i miei gusti e, forse per questo, non è riuscita a coinvolgermi. I protagonisti, anche se molto bravi, non sono riusciti a farmi immergere nella storia. Lui, interpretato da Im Shi Wan, è un uomo/bambino dolce e imbranato ma veramente troppo strano. Il suo personaggio mi è piaciuto ma la sua crescita personale è minima. Lei, interpretata da Shin Se Kyung, mi è piaciuta meno; l’ho trovata a tratti irritante e troppo confusionaria. La loro storia d’amore, ai miei occhi, rimane fredda e distaccata.
Mi è piaciuta la coppia secondaria che da un po' di brio al tutto. Il finale davvero troppo lento.
Un drama da guardare senza troppe aspettative, e che un po' mi ha delusa.

Já faz um tempo desde a última vez que escrevi uma review sobre algo então talvez eu tenha perdido a linha que estava começando, mas acabei de terminar Run On e não poderia deixar passar. Não sei se ainda tive tempo o suficiente para digerir todas as informações (tudo bem que a carga delas não foi tão pesada), mas estou coroando Run On nesse momento como um dos meus doramas favoritos (não vou dizer em que posição de 1 a 10 ele fica ele já se esforçou o suficiente para chegar até aqui.).

Se você está pensando em assistir vá logo nem pense mais sobre ou nem continue lendo isso aqui. É algo que eu costumo falar sobre quase todos os meus doramas favoritos, mas algo real também "Eu não esperava muita coisa", mas foi como uma flor desabrochando que ele conseguiu me atingir. O desenvolvimento é perfeito e impecável em nenhum momento Run On irá te deixar na mão e você terminará de assistir até com o coração mais quentinho já que essa obra prima está repleta de lições de vida

Tudo aqui é perfeito: a história, a ost, as referências, os atores, a cinematografia...sério ASSISTA!!

Ah, e se você é cinefalo ou algo do tipo (o que é bem possível já que está nesse site) acredito que vá pegar algumas referências de filmes famosos :)

Same old korean story. Noone can decide who loves who and when they do they go back and forth on their relationship for totally unimportant reasons. Again patriarchic dominance to the point of abuse. Timid people who feel afraid or ashamed to express their feelings. The only exception, Kang Tae O is a delight to watch. His acting oveshadows everyone else in the series. Also great acting by Yim Si-wan.
Absolutely energy draining. You have to have a lot of patience on this one. Korean people are wonderful but they have to get over this extreme shyness when it comes to love and try to do away with this patriarchical domination.
