I have compared this drama with my religious beliefs. In Christianity, there is GOOD and EVIL. We also believe there is a GOD, His Son and His Holy Spirit. He created the universe we live in and all the inhabitants. From the tiniest atom to the human beings that live on the earth. He also created a very handsome angel that had the highest role in heaven over all the angels. This angel became proud and jealous. He made war against God and the heavenly Kingdom. God threw him and his followers, 1/3 of the heavenly angels, out of heaven.Their destination was the perfect world God created. Since then this world became chaotic. But God still loved the people He created. The three Dieties met and God sent His son down to this world. Born as a human baby to parents who serve God and love Him. He was named Jesus. Jesus lived among men. He suffered the same temptations we have. He was falsely accused and finally He was crucified on the cross. He died to save us from sin and to give us eternal life. Only if we accept Him. There is always a war going on between that angel Lucifer (Satan) and the people who worship Jesus Christ. Very similar to this drama.

Is it worth watching ?

Well start is not very good as storyline was very predictable but drama gets better and better as story moves forward. I think story best starts from Episode 16 after shanggu scarifice herself and then came back or probably reincarnated. Now story is worth watching as its not very much predictable as a good drama should be. i watched trailer of episode 23 its looks brilliant. Its a 50 episode drama and drama goes at its peak at episode 23 also our main villan is still alive so its gonna be a amazing fight between damons and gods while sanggu is back and so baiju but from episode 16 some things have changed. Now shanggu is not the most powerfull one but she has not magic which makes the drama exciting. Note: there is no spoiler is this review all these content are availiable in preview and trailers.

I tried but couldn't

I started watching this to get ready for The Last Immortal. I am also a big fan of Wuxia/Xuanhuan/Xianxia. I read good reviews for this series in here too. Plus add Xu Kai in this series, I got ready for binge watching this series.

I am in episode 8 and I am dropping this.

The production, wardrobe, acting and plot is good. I read somewhere that the Female Lead is a multi awardee actress and excellent in emotional roles however, she seemed awkward here in my perspective. It may also be the character role itself but Xu Kai's character seems to have limited range of expression. The story for me lacks luster. It wasn't able to keep my interest.

Preference is subjective. If you have this in your queue to watch, please do give it a try because my perspective is limited to episode 8. I just couldn't continue; I couldn't finish a single episode without dozing off. Take my review with a grain of salt and do give it a try.

OH...XU KAI BUT WHY??

I understand that actors want try on something different characters, oh but why? Nothing good at all come out of it, the story line is too vague, acting is bad, fake flash visual effect, I finally dropped this. People say don't comment anything if nothing good to say, in my opinion this is the thing the production team should know about, take it as improve criticism . Xu Kai is out of character, his cute face wasn't for thousands years old God in cultivation, he's more like Shang Shu Mu (his character in Court Lady). The FL was frankly 'miscast' - she wasn't suitable for the role, her acting so so, her character isn't memorable - annoying. Too much visual effect that spoiling the actual skill of the actors....and the other guy Tian Qi sounded like Zhao Zhou Xu's dubbing voice over (WOH) it's pretty special voice - very recognizable dubbing voice over now after WOH... Ep 5 and I've already bored. First episode is always important to catch audience's interest, start with something catching will usually end dramas in a good note, and this drama lack of it.

I just realized what's wrong with Xu Kai? His freaking bad job 'Hairdo', the hairline was wrong 'unnatural', the hair fashion wasn't suitable for his face. Whoever the hair stylist didn't do a good job, the stylist ruined Xu Kai's best feature.

The best part is the OST by Mao BuYi (Title: Age), Charlie ShenZhou (Title: Ju Lian), Liu Yu Ning (Title: GanYing). 3 best singers delivered the songs with deeply emotion, perfect tones, and amazing music.

Excellent Xianxia Show

Superb production. Ancient Love Drama is an epic Xianxia drama. A classic superior Chinese Historical Fantasy drama. Xu Kai is better suited for cold character. Reminds me of his role in The Legend. Zhao Dong Yu is likeable, projecting a fresh and unique goddess persona. Production set is really gorgeous. I like the development of the romance, which comes as believable and appears to be slow burn. The supporting characters especially the other male gods are very pleasing to watch as well. To those who loved Ashes of Love, this is a must watch series. I have been waiting for this type of drama to surface, and this drama is certainly a winner.

If you want just romance this is for you

If you enjoy action romance xianxias then this isn't for you. At least from what I see from the first 5 episodes. It's all talking about love and people having crushes... The "love" feels unearned.

CHARACTERS
I have to admit I hated the ML almost immediately. He seemed to have a stick up his ***. Seriously I get he's calm and aloof but he was downright petty. IT WAS HER BIRTHDAY!!!!! Anyway... I ended up somehow getting over it quickly when his personality took an almost 180.

The second male lead is plain annoying.

And no one takes the FL seriously to the point it's downright disrespectful and rude but it's just played off as funny. DUDE. I would be so sad and frustrated if I was in her shoes.

SETTING
WOW. Just wow. The set is amazing. It looks so much better than Love You Seven Times. The Heavenly Realm looks real and lived in. They did a great job with the set immersion.

OVERALL
I've given it a 7.5 because I think from the first 5 episodes it has done a good job. I mean, I haven't DNFed after the first one or two episodes so it is doing something right.... It's on hold on my watchlist.

Cringy and stereotyped

I picked this up because of the high rating on MDL, but it was truly a torture to get through each episode, maybe because im not into romance drama. I thought it would be like Eternal Love type of show, where theres love story and there’s action. Nope. It’s all about love baybehhh. It’s a struggle (for me!) to bear the incessant proximity moments between the two leads, which most of them don’t even make sense. There’s so many of them within the 5 episodes and it grew cringier and cringier each time that i can no longer stand it after the 5th ep. The way they fall in love was also too sudden and rushed, and maybe because im not in the ‘target age group’, the stereotype beautiful, flawless skinned men for the stonecold indifferent thousands-year-old god of war falling for the bubbly naughty trying to act cute girl kinda gets old. Nope. Not my cup of tea.

If youre like me who prefer action with adorable love story interlaced in between those action, then you might wanna skip this. It’s a totally cheesy cringy love story with mediocre action (yeah its one of those shows with hands waving around spitting internal powers out while hanging and rolling and spinning on wires kind of action, not the actual fight choreograph with physical contact at all) for the first 5 ep. If youre like me, then dont waste your time on this like I did.

A deep story of love and sacrifice

This is the best drama I see this year. Bai Jue manages to go from cold master to boy in love brilliantly. The female protagonist acts very well, she manages to be cute and strong at the same time. The special effects and soundtrack are perfect. I just loved every detail of this drama. Xu Kai was the perfect choice for this role. The script really surprised me in a positive way, we are captured by the plot from the first moment, and the twists are very interesting. I really hate Wuhan for what she has become and the way she wants to harm shanggu. I love how the main couple overcome difficulties together. They are willing to sacrifice themselves for each other. This drama is definitely one of my favorites. It's really satisfying to watch something so immersive.

Some people are criticizing the appearance of the lead actress, and I must say I totally disagree. She is perfect in her role. People are very used to actors who have a very unattainable beauty. She smiles with her eyes, her face lights up completely. And she fits Xu Kai perfectly. Some also criticize Xu Kai's appearance, but I must say he's perfect here. Even in his serious moments, we can see the love for Shanggu in his eyes.

I know the opinion is very personal. Therefore, I recommend that people watch and draw their own conclusions, without sticking to the standards of beauty. Many artists suffer from their own country's haters about this. And they end up putting history in the background. This is a profound story of love and silent sacrifices. A story full of magic that transports you to another dimension. Everyone has their own beauty. It makes me really sad to hear that artists get so much hate because of their looks. While people ignore your hard work.

I really feel sorry for Tian Qi, he really loves shanggu. On the other hand, some people don't understand Bai Jue's plan, but I feel he goes to great lengths to protect his love and makes some troubling decisions, but his character is brilliant at every step. I wouldn't change anything about it. The moment when Quimmu finds out he's going to disappear and when Shanggu finds out that Bai Jue has returned, it's really painful and beautiful. You can feel the real sadness. I really can't hate Bai Jue. I feel your lonely suffering. He does everything for Shanggu and silently endures his sacrifice for her.

This drama was a wonderful surprise to me. I feel the actors fit the role perfectly and there is a lot of chemistry between them.

A melhor série histórica de 2021, não teve um episódio chato ou cansativo , uma série que com certeza te leva as lágrimas , a odiar , amar , momentos fofos e engraçados mas nada exagerado ! Atores sensacionais , enredo bem desenvolvido sem enrolação , efeitos visuais incríveis , lutas bem desenvolvidas com maestria e sem forçar na coreografia .Zhou Dong Yu desenvolveu muito bem a personagem Shanggu/Hauchi que no início parecia meio bobinha mas que me surpreendeu no decorrer da série por ser uma mulher decidida com um caráter forte mostrando quando alguém erra sem medo das represálias . Xu Kai dispensa elogios porque é um ótimo ator e desenvolveu Bai Jue/Qing Mu/ Bo Xuan perfeitamente . Os demais atores também foram perfeitos sem exageros na atuação . O Cenário lindo e rico em detalhes como em todos os dramas históricos que a China produz, o figurino lindo e sem exageros , as osts uma mais linda que a outra . Super recomendo!

O melhor drama Xianxia de 2021

Bom antes de mais nada quero dizer que antes de assistir já tinha grandes expectativas por esse drama.
Correspondeu ao que eu esperava e entregou uma boa historia e com um final completo.
Para os amantes de Xianxia como eu, esse drama é a escolha certa, vale muito a pena.

Preciso dizer que o casal principal é realmente bom, quero dizer é o esperado de Xu Kai ele nunca decepciona, ao que parece houveram algumas criticas negativas, mas foram totalmente ignorados e sobre a atriz Zhou Dong Yu, ela com certeza cumpre o esperado e entrega boas cenas, alias devo dizer que ela é bem fofa no inicio como Shang Gu.

A trama é boa e se mantem num bom ritmo.
A obra consegue emocionar quando precisa e lhe vai tirar lagrimas dos momentos tristes,
além de o fazer sorrir nos momentos fofos e descontraídos.

Poesia de Amor Milenar é um drama ao estilo Eternal Love, Love and Destiny e como eles também é um drama longo são 49 episódios, mas que mesmo sendo relativamente longo está longe de ser cansativo ou monótono, por mais que a obra possa ter falhas, seus acertos são tantos que pequenos problemas são insignificantes.

A historia é boa e está basicamente dividida em basicamente três partes, sendo a primeira aquele clichê básico em que a FL "Shang Gu" precisar treinar sob a tutela do ML "Bai Ju" para ficar mais forte, pois seus poderes são fracos para que então ela possa cumprir seu dever como a líder dos quarto deuses verdadeiros. Ao longo dessa parte veremos um desenvolvimento da FL e sua interação com o ML movem a trama, Shang Gu é bem travessa e divertida enquanto Bai Ju é frio, mas se abre aos poucos.
A segunda parte diz respeito a sinopse vai nos mostrar o desenvolvimento de Houchi (Shang Gu), não vou entrar em detalhes.
E por fim terceira que é a parte final e a conclusão da historia, só posso dizer que todos absolutamente todos os personagens tem finais que condizem com o que você espera deles ou finais merecidos.

A qualidade da produção é excelente e a CGI é realmente boa.
Não tem muito o que dizer sobre coreografias.
O figurino é bom, gosto do visual de Shang Gu~

A OST é maravilhosa, absolutamente todas as musicas são boas e eu preciso fazer uma menção a melhor musica ao meu ver.
A musica "The Thought of Life" (执生念) cantada por "Ye Xuan Qing" é pra mim a melhor OST do drama, quando essa musica toca em um episodios especifico eu fiquei encantado e fui obrigado a procurar a musica, mais tarde fiz questão de traduzi-la.

O romance é agradável e funciona muito bem,
o casal principal é maravilhoso.

Zhou Dong Yu como Shang Gu/Hou Chi sua personagem sofre grandes mudanças ao decorrer da historia e ao meu ver a atriz consegue desempenhar uma boa atuação e me agradou bastante, a personagem em si é boa e no inicio é adoravel.
Xu Kai como Bai Jue/Qing Mu seu personagem começa como um deus verdadeiro sem emoção e frio e ao decorrer da historia vemos suas mudanças e suas emoções se tornando evidentes, a atuação é simplesmente perfeita e esse é o que eu espero de um grande ator como Xu Kai.

O elenco como um todo é bom e não tenho grandes menções a fazer, no geral todos me agradaram,
se eu tivesse de citar seriam as atrizes Luo Qiu Yun como deusa Yue Mi e Jenny Zhang como Wu Huan.

Devo dizer que o inicio da novel é diferente do inicio do drama, ou seja na realidade o drama começa contando a partir de Shang Gu e o reino dos deuses verdadeiros, enquanto a novel tem o inicio com Houchi, acredito que muitos deve ter achado estranho quando entra a segunda metade do drama, mas entendo do por que o drama escolheu começar por Shang Gu, inclusive devo dizer que a novel detalhe melhor, mas o drama tem seus méritos e é com toda certeza uma obra prima.

Não há grandes considerações finais, devo dizer que o drama é bom.
Cumpre o esperado de obras desse tipo e entrega boas cenas,
a historia me agrada, os personagens são bons e o final é completo.
Para quem gosta de dramas nesse estilo é uma boa escolha, com toda certeza você irá amar.
