Love is patience

Love is patience is the sentence that best describe this drama. The three couples of this drama have to go through a lot to finally be together, mostly the main couple. This is a romance of a doctor and a soul reaper, is like dead and life fell in love. Everything about this drama is right and have you at edge of your seat in every chapter. It has a lot of plot twist and knowing the truth behind everything, would leave you heartbroken. The main couple gives a new meaning to the phrase: I give you my heart. A friend told me that the main couple remind her of Louis Tomlinson's song, The Two of Us, and it's absolutely right. The ending was beautiful but I wasn't prepare for how it goes. The intro OST is beautiful, I never skipped it and it fits the story. This is a drama that I would recommend! and definitely has a rewatch value! PD. I need a new drama of the main actors together!

Tear-jerking & Completely Sweet

This series was one of the cutest I've watched in a hot minute. Down to the main characters, the side couples, just everything was adorable. The conflict didn't feel forced, and neither did the romance.

I loved the story down to the last of it. I didn't find it hard to follow at all, I loved how everything was presented and executed as well as the romance. Despite the romance being slow, only really appearing in the last episodes, I still found it 100% worth the watch since the main focus isn't primarily on Tua & Prakan's romance but also on character development and relationship development between the characters. One thing that I wish happened though was more screentime for Tee & Keeta's romance but they were still adorable either way. I really loved how Metha's & Prakan's relationship turned better as well, it was sweet seeing them finally hugging after being at each other's throats for so long.

I absolutely loved the acting/cast and the music as well. There were times when the music cut a bit weirdly, but it wasn't bad enough to distract from the story and what was going on in the scenes. The acting/cast was really captivating, the romance felt so real and sweet and it truly made me cry for multiple episodes, especially the last episode. You'll definitely need some tissues if sweet and loving couples make you an easy crier.

Focus on the present

Wow... end of the review ahaha no seriously WOW, had such low expectations for this drama that end it up being a f*cking amazing one.
It really give me the vibes of Triage ( a bl that I really enjoyed), I don't know if it's because all the timeline, the main scenario being the hospital, I don't know and I don't care it was awesome.
Tua was such a kind heart character, I really liked him, Prakan was nice at the beginning but he started to get annoying, he was stuck in a loop of actions and thoughts that I didn't like it.
The best character is, with no doubts, Natee, he's the SH*T such a dope character really.
Nut, in my opinion is a really good character but his characters suck every single time.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gonna leave here the notes that I wrote while watching the series:
Nathee being jealous is my new obsession ahahaha
Tua's face when Prakan asked him why was he with the purple rabbit broke my heart
WHAT A FUCKING AMAZING ENDING

When you like something so much you do it three times

The creators of this series really like the trope of 2 people falling in love and breaking up and reconciling so much that they showed it three times. Its like you are watching the episodes on repeat.

The story is about Prakan, a doctor who is able to see a grim repaper who he names Tuaphee. What starts as a fight between the doctor who wants to save lives and a grim reaper who wants to collect souls slowly grow in to something more. There is a bit of a mystery and hospital politics sprinkled in between. To me this sounds like an interesting premise as we could find a lot of elements of humour and tragedy with such polar opposite characters and their job roles. But the series fails to capitalise on this opportunity. Instead, what we get is Prakan being whiny and Tuaphee being all caring and understanding and this is where the series loses all charm and interest.

The series seems to be stuck in a loop where Prakan tries to save a patient but fails and sees Tuaphee there to collect the soul. He acts as if Tuaphee was responsible for the patient’s death and loses his mind. He starts yelling at him and says some unsavoury things. Tuaphee meanwhile either doesn’t say a word or tries to explain himself to no avail. Here, their budding relationship comes to an end. After sometime Prakan realises his mistake and apologises to Tuaphee and they get back together again only for Prakan to lose another patient and blame Tuaphee and rinse and repeat. Looking at this you feel the series is stuck in a loop and you just want to slap some sense in to both of them.

Also, for some reason the characters on this series have shown to never believe that someone is in love with them although they have been secretly pursuing them for some time. And this holds true mainly for the secondary couples. Metha likes Nuch but always believes that she is in love with Prakan even after Prakan telling him that they are just friends. Nuch tries to care for Metha but he pushes her away by being obnoxious because he feels she can never be good to him without an ulterior motive that would benefit Prakan. Then we have Nathee and Keetha. Nathee likes Keetha and even confesses his love while drunk. Later he confesses again while being intoxicated and this time Keetha accepts him. But he refuses to believe that Keetha has feelings for him. I mean, Keetha confessed as well and kissed you. What more do you want for god’s sake!

In conclusion, this series is lacklustre and suffers from a mediocre plot wherein the writers lost all imagination and kept going for the same breakup storyline. The actors seem to have tried their best with what they were handed. The series could have been so much interesting if they could have just given it a bit more thought. You can give it a watch as it isn’t a dumpster fire but you will certainly feel that some storylines are rushed and some plotlines just don’t go anywhere and are placed to increase the runtime.

Different but … soo good

I kindda bingewached this one … and never got disappointed.

It’s true that those who want sticky kissing scenes with strange noices for every eye or head movement, or want the whole cast falling in BL might be dissapointed by this drama.

But for me this drama has a real and very interesting plot and even though it is a sad one you can easily adhere to the different characters.

It’s a pity that there aren’t more series with Karn and Nut, this being one 6 years after their first collaboration, cause even though they’re not a couple in real life they have good chemistry on screen (meaning they are really good actors). And the acting of Sood : top. Tae brought in the cuteness and it is always nice to see him on screen.

So … a big thumbs up for ALL the actors here.

The acting and the plot are amazing!

Although many people liked this show, there are many viewers who didn't watch it because they were afraid of the bad reviews. I have nothing bad to say about "Dear Doctor". It all fits together so well and I really felt inside the universe when I was watching this for the first time. You won't regret anything. Sure, the story felt slow at times, but I think it suits the plot anyway.
Another good thing to say is about the storyline behind the characters. There wasn't any moment, when I was watching, that I didn't feel the emotion from that. Everyone that watched it will know what I'm talking about.
By the way, no matters what people say, I'll be in love this serie for a long time and I'm sure you'll like it as I did.

A for Effort/C for Execution

I placed a spoiler alert at the end of this review.

This series was good, but it could have been a lot better. However, it was nice to watch a mature BL series that didn’t use the typical university set-up. The script was ok, but there are a few elements that don’t make sense. I have no medical training, but even I found the medical scenes very unrealistic. If they didn’t have the budget to do them correctly, they could have found a better way around it. I like the cast, but the acting was not the greatest at some points. As for production, the series does suffer from poor background music choices and bad editing.

Random Note: The English title is not grammatically correct. It should be Dear Doctor, I’m Coming for Souls.

******Potential Spoiler Alert******
The ending is bittersweet, but it makes sense considering the storyline. The time jumps in the last episode is the only editing in the series that was done correctly.

My main criticism is two characters sleep together when one is very drunk. It doesn’t matter who initiated it; this is not ok. The other character was sober and should have said no. It was also out of character for the other one to move forward with it.

Very good and underrated

During the first episode, I admit I wasn't too interested - it felt slow and not very interesting, and was tempted to drop the series altogether since I didn't feel like checking out the second episode at all. After the second episode, the story becomes more interesting and I ended up binge watching the rest of the episodes.
The story is not perfect and there were one or two plot holes that made me frown, but there's something very intriguing about the plot and the characters that made me want to stay until the end to see how things would go. I was afraid that the setting and the plotlines would be handled very badly, making it look like the hospital was some kind of romance playground or something, but instead they did it justice and I was fully immersed even in every case of the patients that were shown.
The acting is also very good, and I have to say that Yacht was the one who surprised me the most: I've always been used to see him as "the comic relief" in other series, so seeing him as a serious character for once was very refreshing.

Overall it was a bittersweet series, not one that I will pick back up easily as I'm more into sweet and fluffy stories, but it was a pleasant surprise. In the end, I'm glad I gave it a solid chance to amaze me, because it did.

No Emotional Connections

This is noteworthy in the sense that it is not your typical BL involving college boys. It is esoteric and creative but is so lacking in emotional connections. The irony of it is, is that this whole series is one big continuous emotional journey, mostly about death. If you have a series like this, you have to make it relatable to the audience to make it believable. If not, then it lacks a connection to the audience. I simply never felt a connection to any of the characters in this series. It is not bad acting as much as it lacks a coherent and flowing screenplay.

I wanted this to be what it thinks it is

I so badly wanted this to be good because Grey Rainbow is one of my favorite BLs of all time. Ah, alas.

Medical misinformation abounds, but I'm not thai, so maybe procedures are different over there??? Also every single character sucks except Tua and Nuch. Like, every single one. No one is likeable, especially the main character, which is wild. He's so stupid it physically pains me, and he keeps repeating the same stupid behavior over and over and over again at the expense of a friend. Holy hell he's annoying. Every time someone dies he melts down and goes on about how it's all his fault oh no boo hoo. Like he must think he's got the final say on who lives or dies. Even in shows where the main character is an established loser, I'm hard-pressed to think of them as one, but this guy??? Prakan is a certified asshole loser.

The rules of the people being reaped are inconsistent, the rules of the reapers dont make much sense and are inconsistent. The punishments for various reaper things are arbitrary af. The concept is cool, the execution could have maybe used like one brainstorm meeting. Maybe a writers room. Maybe even just someone to say all the plot points out loud so they'd notice the holes.

The music was wild. Something literally insignificant would happen and this loud, dramatic music would play and I was confused every time because again, nothing warranted it. All of the music was loud for no reason and almost always overdramatic. This is a drama, but its was *noticeably* overdramatic. It took me out of the story quite frequently, which is rough because the story itself was already taking me out of the story. Frankly, I'm not done yet and I want to drop it, but Tua is 1. Doing better than the rest of the cast (bar Nuch) combined and 2. Is pretty. That's all I'm in it for right now. I'm not even in it for Nuch, as much as I love her, because she's in love with the largest, most prolasped asshole I have ever had the displeasure of seeing. And yes, I do mean....uh Prakans cousin, whatever his name is. The side couple is insufferable, the higherups are insufferable for both the reapers and doctors. For some reason people keep getting hit by cars??? Like car, car, building, car, car, cancer type ahh.

This has been an exercise in frustration, which js more frustrating because it could've been SO. GOOD.

Could've.

Why is this so underated????

The story is classic and typical (or not/?/ the premise is kinda similiar to Goblin (korean drama)) but still touching and got me in tears especialy on the last two, with a touch of boys love in it. Character is developed well, there's multiple couple happened here with also some of love triangle and jealousy. There're many conflict happened in every episode so it's not that type of "romance focused" series. They added some trivia of the health condition for the patient. This series is kinda burning, but that's what makes me stick till the end of the series.
