Must watch. Its amazing
Am English and I dont normal watch shows with subtitles but coming across the trailer to this epic kdrama was mind blowing. From the first to the last episode it grips you and keeps you amazed and hooked the whole way through, not only with an amazing storyline and music but the cast was perfect. I've honestly watch it so many times and would happily go back to the beginning and watch it all over againWas this review helpful to you?

Review of “ The Uncanny counter “
STORYLINE:- I honestly realllly enjoyed the whole concept of this series, now is there still some unanswered questions?? I would say yes. Like for example Why and how did he basically become the portal btw yung and the human world?? Why him?? Now those questions could be answered in the next season but there are some plot holes that were started and never really... finished. Like why did the mayor kill that girl?? But besides the little nagging plot holes, the rest of the show was quite enjoyable. And also I don’t appreciate how they would throw in a character only to off him in the same episode
ACTING/ACTORS:
- Now this is the first drama I’ve seen jo byeong kyu in and honestly I’m impressed. He managed to get me attached to not only him but the people around him too. Nailed the crying scenes like a boss too.
- In fact this is the first time I’m seeing any of these actors and I’m genuinely impressed with their performances.
MUSIC:
- Honestly the ost slapped hard. It was so good that even when I wasn’t paying attention to the music when certain songs came on I would find myself subconsciously singing along.
~ Overall, this was a great, enjoyable drama and I can’t wait for season 2!!

Great action, funny and drama all in one
I didn’t expect that I would enjoy this show. I just clicked on it out of curiosity and was hooked from the first few minutes. Action packed scenes were great, the actors and their doubles were great. It was nice to see the doubles featured with the stars at the end of the show.It was funny in a not slap stick kind of way. The dialogue was witty and how the actors delivered it with their facial expressions was what made it funny. This group of five Counters was what you’d call team work. They were there of each other and loyal. Each character had their own issues but instead of being all sulky about it, they were there for each one and supported them through it. Even the two besties were great. It would be great to have friends like that.
It had its drama moments mixed in, but I think the show was well balanced. It just frustrated me that the evil sprits were super strong and it took everything from the Counters to defeat those but I guess we would have had a shorter drama if the evils were defeated too soon.
Nice wrap up to the story though. All in all a very good one.

100% RECOMMEND!!
Currently this show is in my top 3 favorite dramas! The casting was genuinely perfect for each character and i couldn’t stop watching since each episode left you with more questions that needed to be answered. With the episodes being an hour long, there was never a dull moment where I felt the need to skip through scenes. The ending did feel a little bit rushed ,but the show would have dragged if they did it any other way. The sound track was kind of loud in some scenes (where it distracted from the show) but imma just sum it up to me having ADHD. Overall this show made me feel many emotions (mostly sad) and I will eventually do it all again. Was this review helpful to you?
Uncannily Amazing
If you like Fantasy-Action with a young protagonist in a team based setting kicking a$$, then you would love this drama. It is somewhat similar to the anime Jujutsu Kaisen and Demon Slayer, minus the killings. The drama was unexpectedly good with a deep storyline (or maybe it is actually expected seeing it was adopted from a webtoon). As someone who hadn't read the webtoon, I don't know how it is compared to the webtoon, but as a drama it was amazing. The drama had everything a good drama should have. It had happy moments, sad moments, funny moments, serious moments, it had everything and they were properly balanced. The characters were well written with their own background stories as well as the villains. The cast looked great and did a great job in their respective roles. The protagonist had a lovable and funny character and the team mates were unique with their own charms. The OST was beautiful. The VFX was good too.
Overall I think it is a very worthy watch if you like action fantasy dramas and should give it a try for sure.

Fun, Sad, Friends, Family, Demon Hunters, Demon what else do you want, this may just have it
I had this on my list for a while I am a person that gets afraid easily watching demons and spooky stuff but I am so glad I finally watched this. From the cast, characters, and story line it was all so good. Even with having demons in it, they had a lot of humor that you may be a little scared but in the next scene you would be either smiling, or concerned for the characters that you are on a emotional little ride. I loved the cast and how they ended up being like a family to one another, I loved the friends in this, and I was definitely hoping that the bad guys, and demon's would get what they deserved and that the hero's of our story would win!Very Enjoyable drama if you want some action, fights, humor and enjoying a group of people the really care for each other!

MY ABSOLUTE FAV DRAMA
Okay, I never gave any reviews before, but I have to give this story a one. This drama has everything I searched in the past few days. It has comedy, fantasy, mystery, emotional scenes and absolutely everything. I have fallen in love with each and every character. This made me cry and smile at the same time. I was rooting for Mun the whole series, like other counters, we have seen him grow in front of our eyes, the way I was proud of him. I would say one should watch it, like you be hooked from the every start. The only thing is hate I have to wait a month for the next season. Anyways it's a masterpiece made in Yung..Was this review helpful to you?

A surprisingly good series. Simply good entertainment
The only reason I chose to watch this series was to watch another performance by Actress Yeom Hye Ran. You may remember her as the award winning best supporting actress, playing the part of Jeon Gwang Rye, Ae Sun's mother in When Life Gives You Tangerines. And as expected, I was not disappointed in her performance. After watching the first episode, I pre-judged this series as a cute little funny, not too serious, maybe low budget production that was not to be taken too seriously. Maybe even a little corny. (nothing wrong with corny by the way) But as the story developed over time, the story and the characters really transformed into interesting people that you wanted to rout for. The pacing of the episodes were perfect. Nothing too fast. Nothing drawn out too long. There were some love interest mixed with humor. But nothing over the top, which was perfect. The stories were not complicated, yet they were able to keep your interest with no effort. It left you feeling like you just had to watch the next episode. Lastly, I also never felt cheated with a quick, easy answers to whatever problem they were facing. Solutions were not as predicable as I have experienced in other Kdramas. That is good screenwriting.
As a newbie, I am realizing that saying "the acting was great" is a waste of time. In Korean dramas, I think I have only ever seen one actor that was somewhat questionable in the 20+ shows I have seen so far. But I will say it anyway. The acting was great.
Yeom Hye Ran as expected, did not disappoint. She was great. As was the rest of the cast.
Lee Hong Nae and Ok Ja Yeon stood out as perfect villains. I would have to say they were outstanding.
I do want to point out that on the surface, this series appears to be a comic book, super heroish type of show. But don't be fooled. There are some grewsome events that I don't feel would be good for kids under maybe 13 or so. Nothing I don't think an adult couldn't handle. Not gorish. Just not violence children should watch. (Just this old mans opinion)
I would recommend this show for viewers looking for something different. Something easy to understand. Something to smile with and enjoy.
I don't believe there is any music I would add to my playlist. So that brings the score down somewhat.
I would rate this as 8 out of 10.
PS. I almost forgot. At the end of season 1, the ending credits did the usual still photos of the cast and production crew. I always enjoy that. But this show had a few photos with each of the main cast individually standing with their stunt double. SOOO COOL.

It's not perfect but it's worth it!!
As the heading says, this isn't a perfect drama by any means. There are a decent number of things to dislike about this drama but honestly, they make up for it through its wholesomeness and heartwarming moments. I'm very happy with how episode 16 turned out and the warm and fuzzy feelings are at an all time high right now. This was such a fun, wonderful, and heartwarming drama to watch. I was quite skeptical at the beginning, but I kept seeing such good things about this drama and wondered what this cheesy-looking drama can bring to the table. Lately, dramas that have been hyped up haven't been that good, in my opinion, so I really didn't expect much with this one. But I'm so glad I decided to watch it.If you're on the fence, and you're reading this, then this is your sign to just watch it!! Give it a shot, I was hooked on the first episode and I hope that happens for you too.
Maybe I'll come back to edit this with a more thorough review, but for now, its time to head to bed because I stayed up way too late to finish it. Bye for now!

What's uncanny about 'The Uncanny Counter' is how good it is
I didn't expect to enjoy 'The Uncanny Counter' as much as I did. The series didn't take itself too seriously and the performances were solid all around. I mean, a show about demon hunting is not exactly an original concept treading over familiar territory but the characters are just so gosh darn likable! The fight scenes were well-choreographed, keeping my suspension of disbelief to a minimum, and the season 1 finale was very satisfying. As always, I'm not a fan of the 16 episodes format on Netflix with a run-time of a little over an hour for each episode and padding them with flashbacks among other things. But it proved not to be a deal-breaker...this time. I'm looking forward to season 2.Was this review helpful to you?

The Uncanny Counter – A Thrilling Blend of Action and Heart
What stood out to me about The Uncanny Counter is how well it balances supernatural action with raw human emotion. The fight choreography is sharp, fast-paced, and visually exciting, but it’s the characters that keep you invested. Each Counter has a backstory that feels authentic and moving, making their bond as a team feel natural and powerful. The show also does a great job of mixing humor with darker themes. Even during heavy moments, there are sparks of warmth that make you care deeply about the characters’ journeys. The pacing can feel uneven at times, but the emotional payoff and intensity more than make up for it.
If you enjoy action-packed series that also explore themes of grief, resilience, and friendship, this one is definitely worth watching.

If you're a fan of the supernatural dramas then this one will be a good watch. I love the dramas Tomorrow and Mystic Pop-Up and this felt pretty similar to those two. A group that turns into a found family fighting evil spirits. It's not a new concept, but I did love the way that Uncanny Counter went about it. To start, you know when Yeom Hye Ran is in a drama she is going to play the hell out of her part. I love her so much with every one of her characters, but Ms. Chu has such a special place in my heart. A bad-ass mother figure who would do anything for her family. I loved every scene we got with her and her son and most of her scenes got me choked up. Honestly, every actor did such a great job. The other one that stood out for me was Kim Se Jeong. Ha Na's character was incredible and she did such a great job at capturing her emotions and portraying them. I loved the character development she went through throughout the series.
This show does a really good job with the effects of their powers, evil spirits, etc. Most can come off pretty cheesy, but this one was done in a nice way to where it looked actually pretty real. The action scenes were good but obviously exaggerated to play off their strength they gain as counters. I especially loved the fight scenes towards the middle and end of the series. Especially when So Mun is trying to learn how to use and control his territory power. I do wish we could've seen more of his other power of being a gateway. I feel like it got mentioned one time after Wi Gen discovers that's what he has. It's not really mentioned again after that.. and that seems like a pretty important and intense power.
I think one thing I really enjoyed about this drama was that everyone went through huge character developments and came out on the other side better. They each are dealing with their own issues and trauma, but together work through it and overcome their grief to become better people. It was really nice seeing each of them settle with that it wasn't their fault the awful things happened to them and that they should live on for their families that weren't able to. I wish we could've gotten more scenes with Ha-Na and her family, but especially Mo Tak and Jung Young. Their story had just started again and was cut so short.
I love found family dramas especially of the supernatural kind and this one was a perfect fit for that. It can get a little slow and repetitive towards the middle and I even found myself about to drop it at some point, but it quickly picks back up and gets over the hump it has.
