✒ ⭐ Utterly ✨ Starstruck ⭐ °5.9° °Avg°
💥 You've been slain❗ Oh no. What's Jingjing gonna do?This show is anxiety treatment. It's soothing, as the dulcet voices speak Mandarin that is beautiful to listen to; it's almost like a massage. Heartbreak & tense moments are kept to a minimum. It's very pleasant hanging out with this pair, even though they're a little boring. Those thoughts & feelings will carry a viewer to the 20-something episodes. At some point, one must acknowledge that the dialogue isn't much more than: “Look at me I'm pretty,” and “Look at my boyfriend. Isn't he handsome?” The writing and dialogue are so flat they're nearly 1-dimensional.
YAMG is a 2021 release of 32 35-min episodes. It was still a few episodes too long and the content was too stretched out in the end. I don't hate this show. It has some lovely moments. It's easy to see why many would enjoy this, but it's just not my poison, so I'm unable to easily overlook its shortcomings.
Stalett, Qiao Jingjing, was a high school classmate of now rocket scientist Yu Tu. She had a crush on him, but he was only interested in the stars. (Now that she's a huge ⭐ he might take notice). She never forgot Yu Tu, but she stopped thinking about him and went on with her life. The entertainment industry is half smoke and mirrors - they sell fantasy and most of their narratives are closely managed: They flat-out lie about the stars' personal lives. Jingjing is starring in a movie about gaming. She got too carried away one day and gave the (very false) impression that she's good at the game Honor of Kings. This got her an invite to the upcoming game tournament, but at the same time, it generated skepticism and mean talk online. If she doesn't get real good real quick she'll be a laughingstock. She needs a coach.
Yu Tu is a near master at the game. She's aware of his online persona and reaches out to him to teach her gaming. He doesn't make it easy, but he comes around and works with her. The rest of the story is them falling for e/o and them acclimating to their relationship. She has to keep her love life a secret. That's one obstacle. They have the HS reunion and a trip home to their families. That's a big deal. Then it's sorting out their busy careers and each making time for the other. Let's not forget the gaming tournament: Yu won't let her fail. I doubt any viewer thinks she'll mess that up.
Dilraba Dilmurat is everywhere. I've seen enough close-ups of her face for a lifetime. She's beautiful, and she has impossibly big eyes. As far as acting goes, she can be likeable, but her range is limited. She does a good job at playing cute. Yang Yang is also very popular. My First look at him was in The King's Avatar-7.9, which is quite good. In KA he's an analytical gamer who plays Glory, and he's virtually sexless. In YAMG his friends call him “girl repellant”. His hair is more tailored in this show which gives him a leaner look. He transforms into a good romantic ML, here, once he decides what he's going to do. He changed his voice in YAMG to make it deeper and more serious. It doesn't sound authentic. I've long been on the fence when it comes to his talent. I considered him average in Who Rules the World-7.5. I admit that he managed solid sex-appeal in YAMG and he was also quite good in Love 020-6.7 (but that show could also be better). Currently, his name on the billing wouldn't move me towards or away from a show.
You give me the moon and I'll raise you some stars This romance is lowkey. It comes very close to dragging alittle, but in the end, it's sweet. In the early episodes It's hard to imagine what's going to fill the rest of the time. Some of their time apart should have been halved or quartered, but it worked. Many of their romantic scenes work, too, though the latter ones are repetitive of the earlier ones. It would appear they had sufficient content for 20-25 episodes max. They stretched it too thin.
Therefore, YAMG should have been better. They had the ingredients and the tools for a top level romance. Chinese modern-day features often contain awkward dialog and wooden interactions between actors. Everything's stiff. Their idea of amusement is when he acts smugly. Sometimes it works. Smetimes it doesn't. One of my discarded titles is the ironic: He's so good looking & she's so good looking, it /must/ be love. There was a time when they commented on looks one time to many ~~} that was in the teen episodes. They go beyond any scrap of good sense with it. It started to feel gross. My rating would have been lower, except she /really is/ cute and gorgeous, and he /really is/ handsome. That does take them a long way. In the last half dozen episodes it became increasingly difficult to hang in there with them, however. The final 2 episodes are more about patriotism and a love for China's space program, which our ML is an employee of. There's nothing wrong with that.
Some of the outfits are awful - almost beyond imagination. They have so many wardrobe misses that I questioned myself on the “hits”. The red dress she wears is stunning, without question. He's got some cool slip-on ankle boots that are a little bit platform. I love them. Maybe I'm wrong - I am a sucker for crazy socks and shoes. They look sleek to me. There's other times where the fashion is disastrous. Yu's mother runs out of the front door during breakfast in a long sleeve velvet (velour?) dress that looks more appropriate for a cocktail party. Furthermore, she runs out to the front gate in her slippers, which would never happen. There's another scene where they're hanging out indoors with their coats on. I can't help but contrast the wardrobe in modern day features to the costumes in Chinese historical and fantasy features, which are resplendent works of art. It's fascinating. As far as music goes,. Stereo Love, by fewtile, is a world🏅class tune; it's sad, haunting, transportive, and it's on my Spotify.
Who will like this? Diehard romantics and romance junkies who are looking for a low stress, low mental energy watch. I didn't mind it at all, but there is nothing that beckons to me to circle back to this couple - ever. My world will not revolve back in that direction.

Age 13+ plenty of kissing and they hit the sack prior to tying the knot.
Poli-wagging; 4/10. Many modern-day Chinese features send the message: Be a good citizen. It would be un-American to not criticize our own government, right? That's a jailable offense in China. There is no perfect government in the world, so there's always something to be improved on.

Very sweet and light drama
I love this drama a lot. Very fluffy and light. I love how there isn't huge crisis in the drama. I love that all of the characters are very mature. I love the way Yu Tu's character is written. He is a very proud man but willing to unlearn things for his loved ones. I love the way they showed him being a proud man and feeling insecure with his income when compared to the FL. I love that the professor made him realized that no matter how much he earns as an engineer he will never be richer than FL so he should stop with his lame excuse of not being able to give something to her. And I love that he realized it's his own job to make himself feel like a man and it's not Jingjing's job to make him feel he's enough. I love that he accepts that and fixed the way he sees things. I love every part of this drama. Was this review helpful to you?
One of the Best C Drama I have ever watched!!!!!
Right from the start the way story revolves around leads interestingly. These are the main reasons why this differ from other dramas
Great acting from both leads with sizzling chemistry
↠No external problems, stupid misunderstandings, conflicts, the portrayal of a very healthy relationship.
↠The story and characterization are realistic with witty dialogues.
↠Inspirational story giving some important life lessons! but we aren't missing humor too
↠Focused on leads, so screentime doesn't get distributed on supporting roles or any side couple.
↠So many sweet and heart-fluttering moments.
↠No annoying, and unrealistic, over-the-top characters. Very likable leads. But not perfectionists.
↠Many gaming-related scenes in the start and aerospace-related scenes in the middle part of the drama. (in case if you aren't interested in both of them)
↠The flow of the story is very slow in the initial episodes, and it can be boring for someone.

This has to be one of the best Chinese Rom-Com "modern day" drama that ever existed
I've been a fan of Yang Yang since the Love O2O airs and finally he's doing RomCom drama. I too am a fan of Dilraba herself, so this drama is the perfect combination of the 2 actors I admire.Firstly when I came to this drama, the synopsis turned me off a little bit since it's a gaming drama. For me personally, I grew up not knowing how to play electronic/computer games - as it is banned within the family, thus watching dramas that have game-themed story can be really challenging for me to understand. But this drama proves me wrong, I was able to follow along the drama and enjoyed watching it too.
Let me start by breaking down the characters:
- The characters are seriously one of the best Chinese television has portrayed. Not to be harsh nor judgemental, but coming from my years of watching dramas experience, female leads are sometimes, if not, often portrayed as weaker than men or as the drama often specify it as "rich man poor woman" --> and there is in fact a drama that is titled that way too! I always strive for equality between FL and ML character.
Hence this drama is the combination I was looking for - a well balanced 2 leads. Both Male and Female are good in their own ways. Though the male lead isn't necessarily rich, but he's very smart - might even call him genius. The female lead is successful, famous and makes a lot of money.
- I also love how the female lead is very mature in my opinion. She may not be mature all the time based on her actions, but what I mean is the female lead isn't portrayed as "the-girl-who-tries-too-hard-to-be-cutesy" type by making baby noises - as many Chinese dramas female leads/actresses use baby noises to the point where it is nauseating.
- The lead actors (Yang Yang and Dilraba Dilmurat) are soooo pleasant to look at, I mean, what more can I say, they basically have museum statues visuals.
As for the story:
- I love the love story between the 2. I admit, this drama isn't something revolutionary in terms of originality - which is a typical love story between 2 leads who met by coincidence after many years, one being the other's first love. But because of good script and story writing, this drama deserves all the hype and success they have.
- The story doesn't have heavy melodramatic moments, which I love. Very light-hearted and easy to watch.
- As for the love story between the 2, it's enough to make me feel lonely because of how jealous-worthy they are.
- The duration of this drama is considered a mini-series in Chinese dramas, only 32 episodes - 30 mins each. Thus, this drama can be considered binge-worthy for all of you binge-watchers. Very brief and not too exaggerated.
For the rewatch value, I give it a 10, boy you don't even want to know how many times I've watched this drama. I seriously have a problem.

Nothing to see here
This drama did not need 32 episodes. I think the manufacturers just wanted to drag out the series so they could earn money from the fanbase the couple has. After episode 21, this drama could have ended with absolutely nothing lost from the storyline. As an epilogue, we could have had episodes 31 and 32 as episodes 22 and 23 but that's it. There was really nothing to see outside of how JJ and YT got together. Everything else was FANSERVICE. This is why I gave this series such a low rating. I loved the chemistry between the leads but when they started feeding me sweet interactions with zero storyline, the chemistry I loved quickly got old.The rewatch value for me is simply a 0. I can't rewatch this because there's nothing to see.

Not like other romcom drama
Waiting for writing review for this drama This drama is unlike other romcom dramas the couples were matured and understanding There is no second fl who will chase after ml though there is ex gf and bf they are not so annoying they will be only in 2 to 3 episodesThe chemistry between the couples were just awesome another version of yang yang we can see in this drama There will be steamy kisses An another no break up drama into the list They have beautifully filmed the aerospace industry Heroine is a celebrity unlike other dramas there are no evil fans They have beautifully protrayed how both the leads become successful in their life The visuals and music were amazing in this drama To mention the visuals in the wedding were just amazing The rocket launch epi made goosebumps though we know it's just editing they look like real Though am an Indian it really made goosebumps overall it's an amazing drama worth watching

Boring at its finest!
Have watched several Cdramas and I could say this is so far the most boring one I have watched. I tried this due to high ratings and the cast were all good and famous. But I agree with the unpopular reviews here..this is boring and storyline about gaming and then switched over to aeronautics does not add up to any romantic feelings to smile about on this drama. Its more of a scifi drama instead of romcom. The plot should have been a famous actress falling in love with a regular guy..but this was not emphasized. There are other cdramas to watch if the plot is about a famous actress and a regular guy..this series is definitely not it. Dilraba and Yangyang may have been paid a huge amount on this drama for them to play this..or prolly because it has something to do with being nationalistic since the drama is about chinese satellite. Was this review helpful to you?

Top visuals in a sweet romance drama
Gu Man is pretty well-known for being a hit generator. All her previous works like Boss and Me, O2O and You Are My Sunshine were wildly popular in Mainland China. I won't say that I'm a fan of Gu. I've only read You Are My Glory out of all her novels, and I've only finished Boss and Me and YAMG out of all her drama adaptations. The only reason why I even read YAMG was because the casting news leaked. I will confess that Gu's writing style does not particularly appeal to me. Frankly speaking, I was curious and also apprehensive how everything will translate to screen given the length of the story dedicated to gaming and reactions of netizens. To be brutally honest, I feel that Gu Man is an okay writer, but she's not a great scriptwriter. The major minuses I see are: 1. extension of the gaming and aerospace engineering plot lines which did not contribute to the pace nor story development (I liked the ending though), 2. inability to fill up blanks in the novel dialogues and insufficient visual direction, 3. stereotypical portrayal of the entertainment industry. The gaming part was fine, because I do game a little, so I get the gist of what was being said, but the aerospace engineering aspect was a snooze fest. There are parts of Yu Tu's career story which I just fast forwarded through and will never go back and watch again. I applaud Gu's dedication to make the story as professional as possible, and stuff like electromagnetic interference are basic Physics concepts that most people can probably understand. She's also careful to not make Yu Tu look like the smartest person in the lab. Objectively this isn't bad, but it's just boring, and boring cannot be helped. Also, if you noticed, the script is almost a mirror reflection of the novel, but there are some parts which are awkward and needs more dialogue to fill up the interactions. It's okay to have blanks in your novels, but it's not okay to have them in a drama. Even Pan Yueming was sort of awkward in some scenes because the interactions weren't fully fleshed out.
Still, I like the story overall. I liked how there is almost no angst, I liked how the love story was slow burn, and I liked the ending. I think the launch at the ending was what the drama needed, not whatever she added in the middle. I liked the characterisations as well. Yu Tu is actually a very typical Gu Man male lead, a smart and handsome classmate/school senior (who happens to be facing some life decisions). Qiao Jingjing is a stronger female lead than the kind Gu usually writes. She's successful, confident, smart, brave and straightforward. She knows what she wants, and she is also very perceptive. I also think Gu has a knack for writing sweet snippets and witty dialogues, but in a way it's also a slight negative because some may find that the show is not as eventful as what they may like.
On to the cast. I've actually written a few posts on what I think of the leads. Just a disclaimer, I really like the two of them. I think they are beautiful and they can make me watch anything (the two of them, one isn't enough). However, I don't think they are great actors. This is especially evident in the first half of the drama. I've said it before, sometimes Dilraba doesn't give me the emotion I expect or she gives something less. Yang Yang was just extremely stiff at the start, and I was disappointed in his scenes with Guan Zai as well as his mentor in the restaurant.
As the show moved on though, both of them got a lot better. Dilraba is very comfortable with cute and bright roles and when she wants to be she's just the most adorable person ever. Yang Yang is okay when he's not being emo. He was very good during the second proposal scene as well. I was also surprised however with Dilraba's speech delivery, because in the trailer her voice was a little too soft at times, but she's really good in the drama. Yang Yang swallows his words a lot though, and you can hear how he links his syllables in the scene where he drove Jingjing around at the launch site. It's a little hard to get used to two words becoming one and I think he needs to cut out on that habit. Despite my gripes, the cast was the best thing that happened to this drama, because they fit the characters to a T. They also have brilliant chemistry. I don't know why there are people saying otherwise, but they complemented each other perfectly.
Overall, it's a sweet romance drama with an exceptionally beautiful cast and great rewatch value (I rarely rewatch dramas). You'll find yourself going back to replay their interactions over and over again.

Overrated
It seems like I will be a dissenting voice on this drama! Whilst I agree that it is refreshing in that it doesnt employ the usual cliches and is a sweet romance, there are several parts I found boring - the gaming and the space tech - sorry neither appealed to me and i fast forwarded thru the majority! Secondly the FL - she was just irritatingly childish around the ML - acting all coy, shuffling her feet, swinging her arms and generally acting like she was still in high school with him - the power of love? Maybe but I found her vapid and it did not gel with the way she responded to the host of the games with his questions nor the wonderful way she put down her ex. She is a woman who is a successful actress is used to public attention so why portray her as someone who cannot cook, clean or even make a cup of coffee?!! Then they show her digging for bamboo shoots - the inconsistencies in her character are just too numerous. Lets not also overlook the fact that in the past and now she basically stalked him!!Similarly I disliked the ML for his inarticulate way for the first part of the drama and then his sudden dominating way of wooing her - taking over the driving, blocking her opening the car and on the karaoke presuming she came for him then taking her out and wrapping her up like a child. Maybe this is showing his love and care but with her childish manner it just struck a wrong note. Also hes been a rather self obsesssed man for the majority of his life- even said of his first girlfriend her giving him love he didnt see he had to return it. So why did he tutor the FL from the get go when hes never shown any inclination of behaving like this before? This was never explained- even why he travelled an hour and a half to repair her air humidifier when he didnt even know her?
Maybe I'm just too old and from the wrong culture for this sort of soft romantic slush and in particular the Chinese way of infantising their female leads. How do these girly women turn into the natriachal mother and grandmothers we also see - maybe its their revenge for having to be so girly to attract a man!!!
I will watch the rest of the drama to see if it can redeem itself in any way! I dont actually believe it will!
Oh and the first teal kiss? He kissed and she kept her mouth shut! Come on- its the 21 st century!!!
UPDATE
Well thisxdrama did redeem itself! Once they startrd dating it became a more equal and mature relationship which was great to see. The love and respect the two characters had for each other was refreshing. The FL dropped the girly act and the drama was so much better for it! I still found the male lead a little stiff - facially emotive but his body seemed too tense.
I was amazed at how many sexual innuendos there were- wow!
Overall a fluffy drama that was more worth watching in the later episodes . I'm not so sure these two would have made it if she didnt have a successful solo career - thisxwas touched upon by other characters. I wouldnt watch this again - it didnt really engage strong emotions in me and lacked depth for my taste. But a nonstressful watch!

The once upon a time couple we wish we could have forever.
I'm so empty after I finished this comfort drma. I'm filled with emotions that I can't say it all because I'm still so overwhelm right now. Yutu and Jingjing's love story is beyond words. The kind of love we've been searching for a long time. The hype for this drama is totally worth it. The production, casts, especially our leads gave their 101% performance. Promotions are top-tier. YAMG really set the standards. Not to mention the osts are great too. Everything is balance and that makes it perfect.
Just a simple drama but is so addictive. I have watched many stories unfolded before my eyes yet this one just hit different, it felt like home. I didn't expect anything more to happen because this drama already achieved many things like broke records here and there. It's already doing great in China and Intl as well but still ends with a bang! Literally crashed Tencent and WeTV in several countries last night.
Congratulations to You Are My Glory team. This will go down in history. Yang Yang and Dilireba deserve a round of applause because they embodied Yutu and Jingjing themselves. Mr. and Mrs. Yu deserve each other so much. Time may late in bringing them together but also it was time that gave them the best ending of their love story in our eyes. Hope for more stars to conquer and more galaxy to enter.

Living up to the expectations
Fans had huge expectations for this drama after viewing its' star-studded cast of Yang Yang and Dilraba Dilmurat. After completing the drama I can finally say that they definitely didn't disappoint their fans and lived up to the expectations. Their chemistry was off the charts. I loved them together. I usually enjoy slow-paced mature romance dramas. This too was a slow-paced drama with things building up slowly. But you would not feel the urge to fast forward the scenes as they are not boring at all.I loved how their relationship built up slowly yet into a strong one. They both came to understand each other and love each other. This drama revolves around the main couple only. The story doesn't have much of an impactful supporting character. But either way, the supporting characters played their roles quite well.
Coming back to the chemistry between the main couple, you would end up craving more of them. You can say it is a romance between an ML with high IQ and a FL with a high EQ. They both played their roles well. They ended up becoming our glory.
