I highly recommend this drama
(Commentary mainly characters focused)Gosh... I'm going to start by saying that this drama is really worth watching. You might not like it at first but it was worth the wait for me. I usually don't like watching weekly, i mostly binge watch but now i really had to keep up because it was SO GOOD.
The actors, the sets, the color grading too !! (we don't talk about the color grading enough) they were all immaculate. The action scenes were so well-done and the emotional scenes too.
I usually don't like the romance genre but a little bit more of it would've not hurt anyone in my opinion. When Youngro and Suho kissed, I thought I would feel their love for each other more. But I just saw their relationship like they were siblings. They looked like they cared for each other like siblings, not like lovers. Also this drama sometimes made 2 characters kinda "like" each other but not really give them the time to actually develop anything, *cough* Bunok and Gyeokchan *cough*.
I didn't mind almost the whole drama being shot in the dorm, they're hostages so it made sense to me. It would've been so makjang of the director and writer if they had Youngro and Suho escaping, dodging a rain of bullets from the SWAT and then continue the drama outside the dorm. So unrealistic lol.
But thank God, there were some scenes outside of the dorm because it would've gotten a little claustrophobic.
Speaking of outside the dorm, I personally have a thing for villains in general. I love hating them and sometimes they end up being my favorite character. In this drama my favorite character wasn't a villain but i literally LOVED to hate Nam Taeil. I'm sorry but this man was so hilarious! The way he scared everyone around him had me dead lol. Especially when he was with Eun Changsu, Changsu was speaking gently to Suho trying not to make things worse. And then you have Nam Taeil yelling at Suho, calling him "stupid communist" and all the names of the world lmaoooo. When he got arrested and Mr. An was being too confident while had lost 300 millions from Code 1's funds and got on his knees begging Taeil to save him. And then Taeil wanted to slap him hard but An was scared so he slapped him gently and then he said "thank you sir" hahaha omg this was so funny. He literally said thank you for not being slapped hard. Or when Taeil was getting beat up and then received an order from the president, everybody instantly feared him and he regained his confidence. And then beat the hell out the one in the black trenchcoat lmaoooo i was so dead.
I didn't like any of the wives to be honest, but the most hateable one was Taeil's.
At first i hated Jang Hanna but I ended up being tolerant to her because she helped Suho and stuff. But I'm pretty sure that if it wasn't for Gangmu she would have not cared that much. Like she said, she only joined ANSP for him.
I got attached to Suho so much. I love him so much omg. The way he got killed was too harsh for me. I couldn't do it. Hours after watching the last episode, my heart is still aching. From the moment he recorded his tape for Youngro, i knew he was going to die but not like this. They riddled him with bullets, all over his body it was SO hard to watch and Youngro witnessed it all! Oh my God. I was so shocked i couldn't move on from what I just saw. And then when we heard his tape, that was it for me. I started crying. I didn't think I would but damn I did. Even more when he said "I love you".
I love Youngro so much, she went through so much I can't even imagine the pain. Now she has no friends, everybody hates her. But sometimes (just my opinion) she pissed me off. She would do things and I'll be like "girl, why are you doing this ? haven't you gone through enough ? if you want to die just say that." I can name so many examples, when she helped gangmu numerous of times, when she provoked Gyeokchan, when she kept believing that her father would save her (i mean that's understandable), when she went back to save Ms. Oh, when she went BACK to suho while he was fighting for his life. Sometimes I would wonder "If this girl is not afraid of death, why does she always look terrorized lol?". It did bother me the way she was crying every episode, like okay I'm not asking you to be suddenly fierce, it wouldn't be realistic. But just... I would've loved a twist to her character you know ?
The thing with Youngro character that bothered me it was that there was no growth or twist to it. We already knew that Youngro is a girl that is not afraid to stand up for other people. She's brave. We also know that she cares really much about the people around her but that's it. There's nothing really interesting about her. Everyone had a big secret, everyone had some mystery to them. (Like Ko Hyeryeong, i still don't know why she changed her name???) Or everyone had a tragic/meaningful story that built their character to who they are today. Other than being the daughter of ANSP's director (hated by every korean), having an evil stepmom and a caring brother, there was no depth whatsoever. We don't even know how her mom died. It would've been so good if the twist was something like : Youngro is the daughter of powerful government man, she attended military school and her father finally let her attend a normal university. Then she has to hide the fact that she knows how to defend herself or she'll have to display her dad's identity. ANYWAY... (Hyeryeong's voice lol) something along those lines.
Suho didn't really have a character development neither because he always knew what was right and what was wrong and always stood up for himself and others. He did that until the end. But we actually got to know his whole story. How his mom abandoned him, TWICE. The fact that he has a sister, how did he become a NK secret agent. We've seen the depth of his history and how did he become like this. This is why I feel like Youngro was just a bland character with no history before meeting Suho. And I know you don't always have to have a "history" but what i'm saying is that her life wasn't perfect before Suho, so it would've been good if we could dig more into her and actually KNOW her. Because if we're not going to see her grow her character at least build a "better" Youngro and show us how she grew that way.
Everybody had a character growth at some point. Mr. An (from being everybody's dog, to being the ruler, than... being a "dung fly" again", Eun Changsu (from wanting power at all costs but realizing his children are more important), Gyeokchan (to being the heartless and violent spy to being the guy who defends victims and who missed his mom), Kang Chungya (from being the veteran spy for 17 years who would never turn her back to the party to actually betraying them), Lee Gangmu (from being the agent that would do absolutely everything unethical to catch spies to one that now understands people's suffering), Ms. Pi (from being a cold blooded woman to a woman that actually has a painful past and hidden emotions), Bunok (from being hateable and selfish to being understanding and forgiving to people she used to "despise". Everyone but the FL and ML lol. Kinda funny but sad at the same time.
I really got attached to unexpected characters like Joo Gyeokchan and Eungcheol. When they died it really made my heart skip beats, especially Gyeokchan's death. I never hated him, he had his reasons to be the way he was but I did think he was too emotionally driven sometimes (especially by anger when someone rub him the wrong way). He was too violent for not so much but I ended up getting used to him and it really hurt me when he died. Rest in peace Gyeokchan. Rest in peace Eungcheol.
The only character I hate still is Bunok, i don't care that she's poor and she lost her sister and stuff. Like girl... Being poor, having it harder than everybody and feeling like you're being treated unfairly does not allow you to be a complete piece of crap, does it? From beginning to end, she was despicable and i don't feel bad for her. She literally hurt everybody around her, like who raised her? When people say "she had her reasons/motives" I'm sorry but no. Her reasons weren't good enough to act like that. Because of being selfish she didn't even know that she helped the man who killed her sister... And she could've killed Ms. Pi if the gun wasn't unloaded. She was hateful to the point of being a whole murderer. See what greed can do ? Anyways haha. But that means the actress made a GREAT job tho.
I saw a lot of people saying the drama was slow paced I don't think it was. It's just that we had to wait every week, i think this is why it felt so long. The story unraveled pretty quickly in my opinion.
My favorite character in this drama was Suho, we saw so many sides of him. Gentle and sweet, brave and threatening, sad and vulnerable. His story was so sad, he got abandoned by the people he trusted the most, meaning Lim Jirok and Choi Suryeon (aka his biological mom). At some point every character around him tried to kill him lol. He went through a lot really, thankfully he had some morals and wasn't brainwashed like Gyeokchan or Mandong. Everytime i see Jung Haein it will remind me of Suho :( Rest in peace King Suho <33
Finally the OST omg. Don't even get me started. I have 2 favorite songs : My friend by Kim Hee Won and If you stay with me by Sung Si Kyung, i literally know the lyrics lmao. They are so good and fit the drama so good.
On the overall, this drama was really good, i recommand it. It's a 9 for me. It's not a 10 because I was kinda disappointed in the FL character (Youngro) and i actually wanted to rewatch but after seeing the end, i don't know lol. I already watched episode 2, two times because i loved that one. The whole drama is worth watching millions of times so i will definitely do so in the future.

Only watched for jisoo but ending up loving this drama
Honesly, I only watched this drama only for jisoo. As a blink, I wanted to support jisoo’s acting debut. As usual, she did a wonderful job for her first lead role drama. The casting for this drama was perfect. The reason why I put 5 stars for rewatching value is because i’m not type of person who likes to watch dramas that have a sad ending. Honestly, if jisoo wasn’t the main lead actress for this drama then i wouldn’t watch this. This drama had me crying, swooning throughout the whole time(mostly crying). The cast really made this drama what it is. If you like sad dramas, then this is for you. The ost in drama is good as well. I still listen to it until this day. Please prepare to cry a lot if you are gonna start this drama! Also, i wanted to point out that this drama is very intense, it’s not a lovely situation but the main couple had their cute moments (lots of hugging). Was this review helpful to you?
Beautiful Yet Painful — The Drama I Feared to Watch, Yet Couldn’t Stop
I finally finished Snowdrop and cried so much at the ending. This is exactly why I avoided it for so long — because I knew it was going to be tragic and heartbreaking. Lim Soo Ho really deserved better. It had been on my PTW list since before it even started airing, but I couldn’t bring myself to watch it for years because of the bittersweet ending. I’ve never been a fan of heavy political plots, and this drama reminded me why. I really only came for the romance. Unfortunately, there weren’t many romantic moments, but the little we got was so precious. Jung Hae In and Jisoo’s chemistry was just superb, and those small bits of romance were enough to make my heart ache.
The acting across the cast was outstanding. Every performance was delivered so well that it pulled me deeper into the story. Still, I can’t help but wish the ending had been different, even just to give the leads a tiny chance to be happy together. Maybe that’s asking too much, but it’s what I hoped for.
Despite the heartbreak, I genuinely enjoyed watching Snowdrop. It even cost me some sleepless nights since I had to watch late after work, but it was worth every lost hour of sleep.

A masterpiece drama you couldn't forget.❄️
❄️Snowdrop reviewIt became one of my favorite dramas, even though there were only a few scenes of Yeong ro and Su ho and honestly it wasn’t enough for me. Still, their story touched my heart deeply. The moment when he was building a tower with matchsticks and she came to save it when their eyes met my heart started beating so fast. It felt like love at first sight is actually like this, something words can’t even describe. Almost all scenes shown in hostel but when he wear nevi blue suit and she wear a pink dress they looked perfect finally their bicycleride iconic scene happened it just melt my heart if the producers give some more scenes like this. Every scenes of them was special.
They just became two souls from two different countries, bound by love yet trapped in sacrifice.
❌the production team did injustice to the chemistry they just hooked on hostel kidnapping situation they could make some better scenes of Jung haein and Jisoo their chemistry was just wonderful it's rare to find this type of chemistry.❗
I wish Jung haein and Jisoo do another drama like this type o chemistry I will wait eagerly for their another drama I think we have to wait for so many years.
Madam Pi, Kang cheong ya , Lee Gang mu, Jang Hanna and Yeong ros 3friends and Su hos fellow soldiers also make the story perfect . Although bun ok and gyeok chan maked so many mess but there chemistry was nice I liked it . All the people in hostel they all worked together until the end . Gang mu was south Korean and he was north Korean but to save all people they worked together it was also an unforgettable moment.
And all this politicians was just disgusting they don't fear of taking so many lives it is how people do after getting power!
One after another the spies kept being revealed, and everything was filled with fear and mistrust. In the end, everyone survived but Soo-ho could have survived too. He chose to come back, just for her. That broke me completely. I tried to stop bit can't help crying until I got a headache, whispering to myself, “He has to survive somehow… he can't die there will be a miracle … he can’t leave her alone in this world.” how can she live !!!!
And that final moment the cassette of his voice it was the only comfort left for her, yet he was gone forever. I can’t explain how heartbreaking that was. Snowdrop is one of those rare dramas that stays in your heart for a long time. I long for more dramas like this, filled with such deep emotions and unforgettable love. 💔

So booooring!
Morti senza senso, brodo allungato fino all'inverosimile. Bastava un film di un paio di ore e tanti cari saluti! Was this review helpful to you?
Another drama with a damsel in distress FL
I watched this because my bf said this was his 2nd fave kdrama. But I think he was just watching this for Jisoo. The drama is politics, and it all started because of the scheme thought out between North Korea and South Korea to get a political party to win the election. A North Korean spy on a mission in South Korea ends up intertwining with a university female student, and now he's forced to hold the whole college dorm hostage.
I started in 1x speed but had to ramp it up to 1.25x because of how slow paced it was. The whole drama basically takes place in the school, with the students being held captive all day every day. Ep 9 is when things finally start picking up.
I do enjoy the action and thriller aspects of this drama. It felt like an emotional rollercoaster watching the ups and downs they go through every time something new is uncovered. There is romance sprinkled throughout every time the main leads get together. The romance was that symbol of innocence amidst the politics and cruel time period they were living in. You feel for them. You yearn with them for how their life could have turned out if they were just normal people without their background to hold them back.
I could not care for the female lead/Jisoo. She was your typical useless damsel in distress who did nothing but cry the whole drama. Even her dad doesn't listen to her, despite the amount of times she thinks he will. Cheong-ya, or Yoo In Na really carried the show for me. She was such an amazing actress.
I personally wouldn't recommend this drama but it was a decent time period drama with good thrills.

I just love this K-drama.
It has been so long since I've cried this much for a k-drama
(the last being Empresses Ki that I watched last year)
and I felt like my heart was breaking.
I have put this drama in mywatchlist for such a long time and didn't dare to watch it because I knew what will happen at the end (I just heard not seen) but I decided to watch this masterpice now, I don't regret even a little.
I've seen people say that it was boring or that they just wanted to watch romance, but then they should've watched romance dramas. I never mind seeing other things then the main story so it wasn't a problem for me. Other then that, for me was intersting, but at the same time I hated to see how corupt the country is and how people were treated
(not like now is any diference in the world) .
I don't rate dramas from a critic pov, so many will disagree with my raiting. As long as I liked what I sow I didn't question anything else.
What I think was a little strange was the timeline as one day felt like 3 days.
Now let's talk about the acting and chimestry couse that was amaizing.
Jisoo ate even though this being the first main role she got. Many people were worried but they souldn't have. (I am not an expert but it's easy to see good acting)
Also everyone did a good job and no one lacked emotions.
The chimestry was superior especially the behind the scenes. I feel that if there were less or not as sweet I would have been more sad, but the bts cured me.
I never ship kpop Idols but Haesoo is just so cute and un-problematic. If they announce that they're together I wouldn't be sueprised a little. And I feel taht they won't get hate (only from haters and delulu fans).
I don't think I would re-watch this drama soon as I will die again but I would watch over and over the bts of this drama.

Delivered for the most part
Let me start with full disclosure that I am a blink and watched snowdrop primarily because jisoo was in it.Having said that, rest assured that my review is fair.
I’ll start with the good points of this drama.
I think that the era they chose for this drama was interesting. Historicals are usually in the joseon era, so this take from 80s Korea was refreshing for the historical genre.
Secondly, I really felt that there was a lot of thought put into a more sophisticated portrayal of this drama. The shots had more variety and weren’t always zoomed in. Costumes and hairstyles were faithful to the era, and even the set design, too.
Thirdly, acting was great! I wanna commend Yoo In na’s acting. She was really great in this drama. Jisoo’s was good too for an acting debut, and I’ll dig more into that later.
Fourthly, I really liked that every episode ended with a cliffhanger that left you wanting more. And there were unexpected plot twists as well.
Fifthly, OST was great! Everything except for wishes lol.
Having said all that, let me now get into what this drama could have improved on:
It was a melodramatic romance, so an ending with either of the leads dying was never not on the table. I just think that there should have been more closure. A huge chunk of finales is usually dedicated to epilogues that tie the loose ends for the relevant characters, and I think Snowdrop lacked in this aspect. I wanna know what happened to room 207. What happened to Dr. Kang? Did Bun Ok and Miss Pi really reconcile? What happened to the spies’ families? Did Sooho really die?
I also think that while quality trumps quantity, it can also go the opposite direction. Less is not always more especially when you still have stories to tell. I wanna know more about the backstories of the other main characters: Eung Cheol, Comrade Joo, Dr. Kang. Side characters whose backstories also mattered: Mr. Kim Man Dong, the kitchen lady, and the other 207 girls.
Because some back stories were not told enough, I didn’t feel like the characters were worth rooting for and that the ending felt rushed.
Lastly, Jisoo’s acting. Her expressions were on point but the hiccup sounds she made whenever she was startled, surprised, or afraid really annoyed me. She can improve on those. But she started really strong for an acting debut and stayed consistent. Love that for her.
Overall, Snowdrop is not a bad show. I’d even go as far as to say that this was one of the best I’ve seen as of late, so give it a watch. As for rewatch value, well, no one likes a sad ending. That was fun while it lasted but I think I have had enough Haesoo trauma to last me a lifetime. I’d love to see them do a rom-com just as a palate cleanser for the trauma this on-screen couple caused me.

Superior casting & acting, but quite disappointing
My Opinion about the Drama:I have mixed feelings for this drama. I'm one of those people who waited and anticipated this drama for a long time. Quite worth the wait and worth the watch. For me, the plot was unpredictable, the story is quite good and I got hooked to the drama. All of the casts and their acting was superb even tho there's a lot of annoying characters but understandable. The casting was superior. Everyone, from directors to staffs did a great job too. Jisoo unnie considering that this is her first lead role, she nailed it. She really deserves an award and so Haein oppa too for his undeniably good performance.
I really love all of the OST's. It's so perfect for the drama and the lyrics depict the love story of the couple. It really made me cry when I was listening and reading the lyrics. The overall music plus bgm is so good to my ears.
It's a romance genre but there isn't that much romantic scenes but the chemistry is so high, so it's regrettable.
I'm quite disappointed because it felt like most of the story is all about Youngro and Sooho suffering. They suffered till the end. She literally lost everyone. I miss Youngro's sweet & innocent smile. I saw it last in ep11. I really felt no justice for Youngro and Sooho's character, and them as a couple and this shouts for them to really star in a romcom drama.
I kinda feel like it was rushed. I want to know what happened to all of the other characters too like the Room 207 squad and Chungya because they only revealed few.
I was really hoping for a nice ending even tho there's a lot of sad ending prediction. Honestly, I think they could really make it into happy ending. It was possible but most people say the ending was realistic. I watched this drama to enjoy not to suffer huhu. The ending's really gonna haunt me forever like Moon lovers did to me. That is why I don't like & watch sad ending dramas/movies anymore, I just can't accept it. But if you can't help but love haesoo couple like me and to lessen the heartbreak, you can enjoy watching all of their behind the scenes. The real romance genre is there.

You know what my dad likes to say? "The director to the soap", in this case "the screenwriter to the soap".!Warning! There will be spoilers, do not read if you do not want to!!! (although I think it is not important, everyone has already been spoiled in TT and Intse). Admins, please do not ban
The drama is certainly worthy of attention and will leave some kind of imprint. The story itself is very beautiful, albeit sad, but to stir up so many bloopers, you need to be able to... as some comments have already written "there was a walkie-talkie, they could have said" etc., so many questions were left, all sorts of hints were thrown, and explanations "fuck you". There are more questions than answers, about what happened to everyone else in the end, and in general, according to the plot.
I agree that the situation with the cook is f*cked up, however, Su Ho could have simply not stayed to shoot back. While they were standing there all alone, talking shit (and "miraculously" no one shot and there was no need to shoot back), they could have ALL run away 100 times, but no, the scriptwriters have to show what a hero he is.
And the special forces???!!! Damn, honestly, I'm so hooked on all these security forces and cops in dramas, and other films, series... why are they such idiots everywhere??? Always doing something without an order... when they need to, they don't lift a finger, when they don't need to, they do crazy things! Who gave them the order to shoot! Why didn't that idiot tell them over the radio that only Su Ho knows the password, no, they had to run to them to say that... what they fought for, that's what they got! It's the same as in the drama "Kill", there was no order "screw it, let's shoot", but why? Why? They don't care. Is it really unpunished... damn, if in real life the special forces are so stupid, careless and willful, then forgive me, this world is fucked...
The ending, of course, is expected, as for a drama, but it is really stupid! It was possible to kill him more logically and not so absurdly, although as for me, by the end, it was possible to find a bunch of logical options on how to steer everything out and leave everyone alive. But here it is already the directors' fault, they probably do not want to shoot "as always and as everyone else and as everyone is used to", "here you go, better cry"...
I agree that there are a lot of spoilers, I came across a video on Instagram myself... but I immediately turned off the damn Instagram, but managed to read the caption on the video "he did not deserve such an ending"..., "well, that's it", I think "fuck"... I hoped until the last that something would change. I shed a couple of tears at the end, probably because I was no longer surprised and was mentally prepared for the ending, but I'm afraid to imagine how I would have cried if I hadn't known...
